B J's Pie And Mash Shop in Newham

Can only give a bland 'neither here nor there - middle of the range' score because we didn't actually get to enter. Hence nothing to judge! Accompanied friend, on Good Friday, who had travelled from West Country, particularly looking forward to sampling the much acclaimed BJ'S Pie & Mash Called by phone beforehand but received no reply or recorded message. However, the Website definitely declared that the place was 'open'. Mightily peeved therefore on arrival to a find notice on door stating that the establishment was closed for Easter. Such a shame that the website didn't provide up to date information and that the phone didn't respond with similar information. Great disappointment!

BJs pie n mash, you can`t top it, the pies are superb, mash excellent, Staff are the very best, next time your in East London, take a visit to BJs, you`ll love it.

Just had double double and yet again absolutely andsome, great flavour in the pies, mash nice and smooth and really tasty liquor could not fault it and great value . This place has never disappointed . Also great service

The MadDogs felt the need for some good old fashioned Pie and Mash. So two trains, six buses and a plane later here we are. (kidding). Got to say that this is the best Pie and Mash ever. Great pies with superior mash and quality liquor. Just the best. Pie and Mash is pretty much the same in South and East London but BJs just has the edge. They also do eels here jellied and stewed. MadDog missed this one........Chips cooked in lard/dripping. Oh Yesss. Not good for parking and they have no toilets ,but that's a minor thing. The shop is quite small but that's good for getting to know your fellow diners. Didn't get to meet the Gov'nor but the two ladies on duty were very nice Good value top quality Pie and Mash and the MadDogs are happy. MadDog says put some liquor and a splash of chili vinegar on it !!!

Absolutely banging pie, mash and liqueur. Loads of meat in the pies , tasty mash and plenty of great tasting liqueur. Go about 4 times a month ( would go more but waistline and mrs would not be happy ) double double £6.95 . Great service from all the staff always friendly and happy . Very clean premises. This is a must place to go if in the area or even take the time to travel if you want quality pie, mash and liquor. Well done keep it up . See you soon

Drove passed last week had to stop and try 2 pies 2 mash,nice and clean and was impressed excellent pies with perfect liqueur will be back soon.

Pie & mash is an East End classic and this place does it brilliantly. The liquor (=pie gravy) is good, the cafe is super clean and the chap who runs the place is really friendly. They've got the other East End classic, jellied eels, too, but I'm not brave enough for that! Don't miss it if you are in the Canning Town vicinity.

I try to get here at least once a week having lived in East London all my life and being brought up on pie mash and liquor this is one of the last ones left in this area and it is up there with the best. Great pie mash and liquor and good old eels stewed or in jelly with chilli vinegar lovely jubbly.

Always wanted to visit a proper East End pie and mash shop, so made a special point of going to BJ's after The New Scientist Live event. The place was spotlessly clean and the service was very friendly and efficient, with great banter. Me and my brother had a pie, mash and liquor each. We would have gone for two pies each, but stupidly had a lunch earlier. Absolutely brilliant and certainly value for money. Next time I want to try the stewed eels. When we were there a bloke came in to collect 15 pies !!! BJ's is marvellous!!!!

First time here and was warmly welcomed by staff . The pies was delicious and came up piping hot range of cold drinks available. Limited seats but fine food great parking on side street on a Saturday free ,

so you go into the pie n mash in HX, Romford, Elm Park and to be honest it's pony down the Roman its ok. Greenwich south of the water it's pretty good even though it's sarf. I go in and ask for a double P&M and she says on two plates? I just look at her and say is this a P&M shop or not love? I say no'' one one plate of course.Then she says gravy or liquor. I ask her again is this a P&M or not, part of their problem is they're used to serving foreigners and they sell beer in a P&M shop. Actually it a'int half bad but as I said it's south of the water. In BJ's I say a double please love, she says Eels and a cuppu tea love and it's the nuts. So in the word of Punch ''that's the way to do it''

Este es verdadera joya East end - un adecuado, tarta de moda y puré de tienda. Elegir una combinación de carne, puré de patatas, patatas fritas pasteles con o sin licor y jellied anguilas.

Mis dos hijos y yo estábamos en el este de Londres para el día sin ligas (fútbol) y pedimos un almuerzo. Las tartas, puré, licor y salsa eran excelentes, recomendamos encarecidamente el 2 x Pie y 2 x Mash. El personal fue muy amistoso, bromeando, tirando de nuestras piernas, logré convencerlos de que me dejaran tomar un par de fotos de ellos.

Estaba en mi descanso tacómetro esta tarde buscando algo para comer en el Barking Road, encontré BJs Tarta y tienda de puré y no haber sido nunca en una tienda tradicional pastel que tenía que probarlo. . . Muy amable y acogedor, señoras trabajar allí las raciones y el precio era genial. . . Tarta y patatas fritas sin duda me llenó y sabía muy bien, le pásate por nuevo cuando estoy en la zona. .

He estado usando bjs pie & mash cada vez que estoy en la zona, pastel y puré muy tradicionales, bienvenida amistosa de las chicas y muy simpático payaso (el chico debe estar en el escenario). Entiendo que vive cerca de Southend, así que necesita dejar caer un poco de pastel y puré de camino a casa?

Fui a Bjs pie y mash hoy y todo lo que puedo decir es top draw, cuando llegamos nos recibió un pequeño hombre divertido pero debo decir que fue muy amable y la comida bien, tengo 47 años y puedo decir con sinceridad es uno de los mejores pasteles que he tenido, definitivamente regresaré. . .

Siempre he sido un gran fan de tarta y puré, pero no tenerlo tan a menudo como me gustaría. No había estado en BJ's en unos años, pero me las arreglé para exprimir en una visita recientemente y fue tan buena como recuerdo.

Barato barato barato y comida encantadora. Están llenos de carne tartas y pasteles salsa... húmeda y pulpa crujiente gratis puré... El personal es estupendo propietario es una leyenda local para su comida.

As always when we visit London from our home in Norfolk we treat ourselves to Pie n Mash from here and Nathan and the girls always make us feel welcome and serve up a wonderful treat for us. Defo worth a visit when your in east London for the traditional food of the area.
