Clean, tidy cafe with fast friendly service and hot tasty food. Popped in for a late breakfast and a Mocha. Food was delicious and the Mocha was very nice. Staff were friendly and attentive and the whole cafe and kitchen was immaculate. As a trained chef I always look at the cleanliness of the kitchen, floors, counters etc and it was spot on. My breakfast was cooked perfectly and was so nice that I stayed for some delicious apple pie and ice cream and a cup of tea! Would highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience. Great atmosphere, decor and music. A beautifully presented afternoon tea consisting of a selection of delicious, fresh sandwiches and yummy cakes. Thank you for the glass of fizz and the birthday candle on one of the cakes, it was a lovely gesture. The service could not be faulted. You helped to make my 70th birthday celebration very memorable.

The team work hard to make your experience a memorable one. The food is excellent and the service is friendly and professional. The standard is higher than you might expect at a local restaurant which makes it such a super local gem. Run by a family it really shows when celebrating a family occasion. The chefs are clearly very experienced and know what excellent looks and tastes like. The steaks and seafood are really really good. Don't miss the apple pie either!

I went with 2 friends for the afternoon tea, the food was lovely, you were given a choice of sandwiches which were then cut up for you to share. We were given sausage rolls, also cakes and a scone with jam and cream. The food was very fresh and tasted delicious. Tea or filter coffee was included We also had a gluten free platter, which had just as much choice. I would recommend for a lovely afternoon tea, or a normal lunch . The staff were very friendly and the food was exactly how we wanted it

I absolutely love the food here. The pie and mash is one of the best around. However, I do also go and eat breakfast there a fair bit and it's definitely the best in the area and exceptionally good value for money. Freshly cooked food where they don't skimp on portions is amazing. The chef does lovely cakes (defo try the cherry bakewell!), although I would say he sometimes gets his recipes slightly wrong as they sink in the middle but still taste wonderful lol Everyone is just so friendly and helpful there. I'm looking to try the Sunday roast they do - it sounds good value for money and if it tastes as good as the rest of the food - I'm onto a winner!! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g503784-d2618130-r965632242-Roys_Pie_and_Mash-Hornchurch_Greater_London_England.html#

Upon arrival the lady at the front (who seems like a manager) was rude and abrupt to her colleague that was seating us. We then sat and ordered food, we agreed that mains will be at least 20 minutes after starters but it arrived all together. We said we would like it later but they kicked up a fuss and said we have to have it right now. Ordered a beer and it was warm, they said the beer tap is off and cant do anything about it but the next beer was cold. Was rushed to eat and finish quickly even though the restaurant was not packed. Overall not a good experience which lead to poor food quality.

My wife and I really enjoyed the new Sunday Roast Menu at The Bank Elm Park. All I can say is WOW ! Amazing! I had the Tandoori Wings to start followed by the Roast Pork which came with all the trimmings. My wife had the Whitebait to start followed by the Roast Lamb (Delicious) Then we finished up with the Cheesecake Dessert to round up perfect Sunday Dinner for two. The best Sunday lunch you can get in the area. Will be going back for more. Highly recommend.

What a absolute dirty place, toilets are all broken, electric wires stuck up with sellotape, air conditioning didn't work, bar staff was more interested in disappearing all the time, watered down drinks, very strong smell of drugs being smoked on the top floor, and manager has a very bad attitude, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

Apologies for the late review. We had takeaway from here a couple weeks ago on a Sunday , our usual fish and chip shop is shut on a Sunday in Elm Park but my husband wanted fish and chips and we decided on this plaice . We have lived in elm park for 10 years now and haven’t eaten here for a few years. It didn’t disappoint. I had rock eel my husband had cod, the children had burgers . He said it’s one of the best cod he’s eaten recently and I really enjoyed my rock eel, apologies didn’t ask the children about the burgers but they didn’t complain or leave any . My husband got chatting to someone about skewers and he said the staff were really friendly. We would definitely go again and the prices are good . The chips weren’t greasy and were cooked perfectly . Neither was the fish , the fish were spot on . Nothing negative to say here.
