We had a lovely afternoon tea for my sisters 60th birthday on 4th January 25. And wow everything from the booking to being welcomed, when we arrived was amazing, the food was beautiful and fresh and plenty of. Unlimited tea and coffee nothing was to much trouble. We had people thst needed oat milk we also had our lovely 3 year old Millie that they went above amd behond made her feel special, with her juice in her own little tea pot and her own special cake stand with her afternoon tea. The 2 ladies were lovely and could not have done any more to make us and my sister enjoy her afternoon. Big thank you. Recommend to anyone to go x will certainly be going back x Gʻ

I took my friend from work to tea island I must say it was a wonderful experience.The service was 11/10 and so was our afternoon tea the cake and sandwiches was delicious we was made to feel very welcomed I wanted my lovely friend to feel special and she really got to feel this especially from Linda the owner what a beautiful soul she is Linda was chatting to us made us very welcomed .I so recommend going to island tea I know I will be returning with friends and family .

Went 15th August for friend's birthday. Everything was perfect from the atmosphere, selection of delicious sandwiches and cakes, fantastic customer service and price. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

We privately hired Tea Island for my mums surprise retirement do. We had the afternoon tea (with a decent amount of Prosecco) and I can’t fault a thing. Linda and Samantha were so accommodating. Friendly and gave a great experience We had the best time and the food was beautiful. A special shout out for the egg mayonnaise sandwiches (I’m now a convert) and the absolute best lemon drizzle cake I’ve ever had. For a small local business we were treated like royalty. For an authentic tea room experience , you must treat yourself here

Had the most amazing afternoon at tea island hosting a baby “sprinkle” for my bestie. Linda was so accommodating and the guests were so happy. This was a great afternoon tea experience at such a reasonable price. Linda allowed us to decorate and we also had exclusive hire of the space. The tea pots, china and everything were so cute! I wish I’d have thought ahead and gotten everyone to dress up in an Alice and wonderland theme so we could do the beautiful set up justice! Thank you Linda and team for a lovely afternoon! Mummy to be is over the moon with her baby sprinkle!

This is the best tea shop I've been in for years Linda is amazing kind considerate helpful friendly and very professional and the tea and scones and cakes and jam and cream where delicious I live in the middle of London but I'll be back in Hornchurch soon.

We went with a voucher given to us for afternoon tea for our 50th wedding anniversary. Having perused it online, it seemed to be my kind of afternoon tea place - old fashioned sandwiches with basic fillings that you could add to if required (in my case, NOT required!!! Our table was reserved and we both began with English breakfast tea. The choice of sandwiches was extensive (ham and cheese in my case, tuna mayonaise with cucumber and ham with mustard for hubby. The bread was so fresh and not silly little skinny sandwiches. We had the equivilent of 4 slices of bread each. This was followed by fruit scones with clotted cream and jam, all freshly bake and heated if we wanted. We also had a slice of cake to follow, a huge chunk of Victoria sandwich and a slice of lemon drizzle. Our tea was replenished at regular intervals and the eclectic chinaware made a bright splash on the table. We couldn't manage everything so we were given wrapping foil and a small paper bag to take home any leftovers (2 sarnies and the 2 slices of cake. We also had a good old natter with the owner and her assistant, and went home having had a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon tea. We enjoyed it so much we are planning on taking my sister-in-law there at the end of May for her 60th birthday! Many thanks Linda and crew. You have a jewel of a place in the centre of Hornchurch.

Thankfully we booked a table because every table said 'reserved'. I have previously been to the Tea Island on the off chance. The ladies did manage to squeeze us in which was very kind of them. The service is always friendly, the food is freshly made and this characterful place is adorable!!! I definitely recommend a visit & I'll make sure to return myself.

7 of use took my 90 year old mother in law there on Saturyday for her birthday. Liana was very attentive and caring and constantly checked on all of her guests. We loved the atmosphere and music and the sandwiches and cakes were delicious. WHat a lovely little tea room. I have lived in Hornchurch for the best part of 30 years and never noticed this lovely little gem of a place. Thank you

I have been visiting Tea Island for the last few years. This is my favourite tea shop in Hornchurch. From a quick catch up with my mate on a Saturday morning, to a quick cuppa and a tea cake on a day off. You are always welcomed with a smile and a chat.

Took my Mother in law here for Mother's day. Had a lovely couple of hours in this inviting quaint place with thoughtful decor. Service was very friendly and the food was tasty. Great place, I took my 9 and 10 year old granddaughters for a treat, as we had done the 'walk 1k a day in feb' for dementia. Food was fantastic, staff were very polite and friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family

Awful customer service by the manager..awful quality of food today. The sandwiches and cakes were not fresh. The scones and cakes were shop bought and looked like it was going off! I could have made everyone 10 times better at home. Manager has an attitude. Money not well spent. Very regretful for going there! The Queen bless her soul would have been disgusted! Not going there again!

I had visited this wonderful place, Tea Island, which was booked up by one of my niece's, for my sister's birthday surprise. There was a party of twelve of us. The proprietor of this vintage heaven also made all the sandwiches, fresh on the day and I was pleased to say, she also catered for myself, with a food disease and allergies, brilliantly! The sandwiches and mini cakes, melted in the mouth and with almost endless pots of tea, if required - the setting and atmosphere, was just perfect. Tea Island was busy with other smaller parties going on, but, and we all sang Happy Birthday, to other strangers and shared in their celebration too. Definitely a place I would happily re-visit for another celebration, or even, just for afternoon tea. 🙏🍰🥙☕🦋🌈🤓

First time in tea island you have to book before hand, a lovely tea room very friendly and helpful staff. We had the afternoon tea for 4 people, refillable tea pots, a glass of wine all reasonable priced.will definitely go back again. Well done to all the staff.

My friend and I went to Tea Island for afternoon tea and we were very impressed. The staff were welcoming and the shop has a beautifully unique and quirky aesthetic. Now onto the best bit…the food! It was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I wasn’t keen on one of the cakes, but that was more about personal preference. Nonetheless, the strawberry and cream cake, lemon drizzle, scones and other cakes more delighted my tastebuds and filled my tummy! We had a good choice of teas, the sandwiches were fresh, the cakes were moist and we’ll definitely be going back! Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon.

Although the shop is not open. They are doing a home delivery afternoon tea. Delivered to our door at the time we requested. All COVID safe. Was delicious. Mixed sandwiches ,scones with jam and cream, cake and tea bags to make a cuppa. All on fancy China plates that they collect from you the following day. Great way to still celebrate a birthday or anniversary during these difficult times. Or even a special treat just because. Thank you Linda for a lovely afternoon treat

Such a lovely atmosphere! Owner and her son were really welcoming. I had soup, earl grey tea, pink lemonade and a slice of lemon cake. All delicious! Also enjoyed the music playing in the background. Not too loud but some great tunes.

This was my second visit to Tea Island, this time for my daughters birthday. It was our first outing since lockdown measures have relaxed and we felt totally at ease. The food is lovely, with a good choice of cakes, and unlimited tea. The Prosecco is very good, and overall the value for money is excellent. Linda really does go above and beyond and the service can’t be faulted. I booked the table when they were still closed, and Linda got back to me so quickly and was super friendly every time I spoke with her. This place is a little gem in Hornchurch and we’ll definitely be back! Thanks so much Linda and the team x x

The worst afternoon tea experience we’ve had. Doorstep sandwiches, sponge cakes going dry, no macaroons, plain scones that tasted like lumps of lard. Nothing home made about any of this. Over priced for what you get. Would never go back.

The cream tea was lovely and great value for money. However the best part about of our afternoon was the wonderful owner of this little gem in the heart of Hornchurch, she is friendly, warm and welcoming and we had a great chat with her, an impromptu cheeky afternoon tea treat will definitely will be repeated.
