I do not have one negative thing to say. Absolutely beautiful little tea room with the most amazing atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and helpful but I especially would like to thank the beautiful Majlinda for making my mum's 60th birthday so special. Will definitely be back ❤️❤️❤️

A gem of a teashop which I would highly recommend. We are not local but visit the area occasionally. Great food and lovely staff and very reasonable prices too. We will certainly be going back for more.

7 of use took my 90 year old mother in law there on Saturyday for her birthday. Liana was very attentive and caring and constantly checked on all of her guests. We loved the atmosphere and music and the sandwiches and cakes were delicious. WHat a lovely little tea room. I have lived in Hornchurch for the best part of 30 years and never noticed this lovely little gem of a place. Thank you

We had a "Scumptious" Afternoon Tea, everything was so fresh, light & delicious. The perfect place to have a special afternoon tea, they have created a charming ambiance. I have been visiting Tea Island for the last few years. This is my favourite tea shop in Hornchurch. From a quick catch up with my mate on a Saturday morning, to a quick cuppa and a tea cake on a day off. You are always welcomed with a smile and a chat.

Didn't even know this gem of a place was there. Had a lovely afternoon, and service was spot on, we were very well looked after. Thank you. I will be returning.

Took my Mother in law here for Mother's day. Had a lovely couple of hours in this inviting quaint place with thoughtful decor. Service was very friendly and the food was tasty. Afternoon rea was very filling. Staff went out of their way to make us all feel welcome. Will definitely come back. Gets very busy so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Love this little tea room, 3rd time I’ve been here, today was a group of us for a small baby shower. Love the owner Linda who has been amazing helping me sort the afternoon tea for the shower and making arrangements to suit our needs. Great place, I took my 9 and 10 year old granddaughters for a treat, as we had done the 'walk 1k a day in feb' for dementia. Food was fantastic, staff were very polite and friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family

Awful customer service by the manager..awful quality of food today. The sandwiches and cakes were not fresh. The scones and cakes were shop bought and looked like it was going off! I could have made everyone 10 times better at home. Manager has an attitude. Money not well spent. Very regretful for going there! The Queen bless her soul would have been disgusted! Not going there again!

I had visited this wonderful place, Tea Island, which was booked up by one of my niece's, for my sister's birthday surprise. There was a party of twelve of us. The proprietor of this vintage heaven also made all the sandwiches, fresh on the day and I was pleased to say, she also catered for myself, with a food disease and allergies, brilliantly! The sandwiches and mini cakes, melted in the mouth and with almost endless pots of tea, if required - the setting and atmosphere, was just perfect. Tea Island was busy with other smaller parties going on, but, and we all sang Happy Birthday, to other strangers and shared in their celebration too. Definitely a place I would happily re-visit for another celebration, or even, just for afternoon tea. 🙏🍰🥙☕🦋🌈🤓

Beautiful tea room in Hornchurch which has a wonderful atmosphere. The sandwiches, tea and cake are tasty and reasonable which is bonus. The staff are really welcoming. I definitely would recommend.

First time in tea island you have to book before hand, a lovely tea room very friendly and helpful staff. We had the afternoon tea for 4 people, refillable tea pots, a glass of wine all reasonable priced.will definitely go back again. Well done to all the staff.

My friend and I went to Tea Island for afternoon tea and we were very impressed. The staff were welcoming and the shop has a beautifully unique and quirky aesthetic. Now onto the best bit…the food! It was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. I wasn’t keen on one of the cakes, but that was more about personal preference. Nonetheless, the strawberry and cream cake, lemon drizzle, scones and other cakes more delighted my tastebuds and filled my tummy! We had a good choice of teas, the sandwiches were fresh, the cakes were moist and we’ll definitely be going back! Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon.

We had a cream tea delivered for a birthday treat and it didn't disappoint. Linda gave a good selection of sandwiches and cake on a lovely cake stand. Very good value for money.

Although the shop is not open. They are doing a home delivery afternoon tea. Delivered to our door at the time we requested. All COVID safe. Was delicious. Mixed sandwiches ,scones with jam and cream, cake and tea bags to make a cuppa. All on fancy China plates that they collect from you the following day. Great way to still celebrate a birthday or anniversary during these difficult times. Or even a special treat just because. Thank you Linda for a lovely afternoon treat

Such a lovely afternoon tea last weekend. Having visited caffe concerto in Stratford this week for afternoon tea also I can genuinely say this was 100% better! Better service, fresher and tastier sandwiches, nicer cakes, and the scones cannot even be compared! Will certainly return!

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my mum and young son (5). The food was delicious and they catered to our needs. The staff were amazing and chatted to my son making sure he was enjoying himself just as much as us. The atmosphere is lovely, will definitely be returning to this lovely spot!!

Such a lovely atmosphere! Owner and her son were really welcoming. I had soup, earl grey tea, pink lemonade and a slice of lemon cake. All delicious! Also enjoyed the music playing in the background. Not too loud but some great tunes.

This was my second visit to Tea Island, this time for my daughters birthday. It was our first outing since lockdown measures have relaxed and we felt totally at ease. The food is lovely, with a good choice of cakes, and unlimited tea. The Prosecco is very good, and overall the value for money is excellent. Linda really does go above and beyond and the service can’t be faulted. I booked the table when they were still closed, and Linda got back to me so quickly and was super friendly every time I spoke with her. This place is a little gem in Hornchurch and we’ll definitely be back! Thanks so much Linda and the team x x

The worst afternoon tea experience we’ve had. Doorstep sandwiches, sponge cakes going dry, no macaroons, plain scones that tasted like lumps of lard. Nothing home made about any of this. Over priced for what you get. Would never go back.

I took my daughter and her friend for a cream tea in this charming little tea room this afternoon. The service couldn’t be faulted and staff were attentive and friendly. The cream tea was lovely and great value for money. However the best part about of our afternoon was the wonderful owner of this little gem in the heart of Hornchurch, she is friendly, warm and welcoming and we had a great chat with her, an impromptu cheeky afternoon tea treat will definitely will be repeated.

So looked forward to visiting after reading previous reviews, but oh what a disappointment. Clearly none of the cakes are homemade, probably bought in from Costco or very similar. Thought the place was a bit shabby and they got our sandwich orders wrong even though there were only two of us. Staff rude and not very cheerful when we complained. Maybe we were unlucky, but would certainly not recommend and will not be visiting again.

Arranged my sister's babyshower at Tea Island for 17 guests. From start to finish Linda was amazing, from the communication to the arrangement of everything and brilliant service! Had a brilliant time, the afternoon tea was delicious and were never left thirsty! Thanks Linda.

Went here with my elderly parents and my son , it was very nice , seated quickly , served quickly ,nice food especially the all day breakfast, would recommend.

One of my late dad's favourite places. Has a great choice of speciality teas served by the friendly staff in a wonderful setting. A lovely selection of food and everyone treated like an old friend what isn't to like?

I went to Tea Island for the first time yesterday, and was so impressed with the place! I met some family there for coffee and we chose this particular venue because it opened earlier. It's a lovely vintage inspired tea shop, which we were surprised to find was licensed, so my cousin was very happy he could have a beer! The atmosphere and decor was lovely, and Linda the lady who served us was super helpful and made us feel welcome. She didn't even mind when we kept asking her to take pictures. We will definitely be coming back here.

Really lovely, tiny Tea Island in Hornchurch. Very small but I loved it. Great sandwiches, cakes and tea in a 50s themed venue, including the attire of the ladies serving. Really enjoyable; me and my three girl friends thought it was lovely and will return. Take your mum, your sister or meet your friends for a natter. Recommend.

Stumbled across this vintage looking tearoom, lovely tea served in a beautiful teapot, lovely sandwiches and friendly service. The background music matched the decor and ambience of the venue. The attention to detail was impressive. I will definitely go back.

My girlfriend and I were searching for a good please for some tea, scones and sandwiches around hornchurch and we stumbled into Tea island! The owner is so friendly and the place is so cosy! I had a coffee, a cupcake and 2 egg and mayo sandwiches which I found them delicious! My gf had a tea and scone and she was impressed with the quality! We had a great breakfast and would highly recommend this place to everyone!

Sandwiches made fresh to order and are reasonably priced. There is a large selection of tea to choose from but I went for old fashioned English breakfast tea which is served in a pretty teapot, cup and saucer. Is a very cute tea room and would choose here over Costa, Starbucks etc anyday. Friendly staff who made us feel very welcome.
