Sadly I took a close business associate to this restaurant on the recommendation of Trip Advisor We had travelled all day from different cities to different hotels to meet at the About Thyme Restaurant it was very closed and so far we have been told it has been that way for many months May I suggest that TA keeps their records up to date as with most technology it is driven by humans and is only as good as the information that is put in This was a very expensive mistake Obviously in future I will always check that TA is accurate I have always enjoyed TA and intend doing so in the future but please update your records

I would not recommend this place to other tourists. I booked the Sunday brunch with live music, which was supposed to be the highlight of the day — we planned our whole day around it. However, the music turned out to be plain and average, lacking any passion from the band. Our table was booked for 1:45 PM, and the music was advertised to run until 3:00 PM. But during that time, the band also took a break. The advertisement stated live music from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, so we assumed there would be multiple musicians or at least a more engaging performance — not just one tired band. Had we known the actual format, we would not have booked our table for the later part of the brunch. The advertisement failed to specify either the band or the structure of the performance. Another disappointment was the bill. We had already paid £89 for a table for two, which was supposed to include both the food and the music. I ordered steak, which was listed among the main dishes on the menu, so I assumed it was included in the prepayment. However, there was a small note indicating a £15 surcharge — something I wasn't made aware of. I had explicitly told the waiter at the beginning that I didn’t want to order anything beyond what was included, but when I ordered the steak, he failed to inform me about the extra charge. Additionally, the service was poor. For example, the beer I ordered was first placed on an empty table next to us and only brought over around 10 minutes later. Despite the subpar service, the waiter added an £18 service charge to the bill. This extra charge was also not mentioned in the advertisement. In my opinion, when you prepay for a brunch with music, tipping should be left to the customer’s discretion — not added automatically.

It was a charming place for a last minute find for a late dinner. Food (hamburgers) was average and over priced for what is served. One nice gentleman served kindly while the other lady’s face seemed unpleasant - angry, disgusted, unhappy to serve?! When we went there again the same unpleasant lady was serving with quite a rude expression! We were served bread which was cold and stale! Rest was not so good. And when I kindly requested 12,5% optional charge to be excluded; she said something like “that means we’ll lose our wages but if that’s what you want madam”! The optional service charge or tip as we know is given when you are happy! She is the main reason I don’t recommend this place.

A bit grubby and some staff rude☹️ We came to London for our 25th Anniversary, we were travelling down from the North during the night and arriving Monday morning. We purposefully booked and paid for the Sunday night as well so that we could come straight off the coach on Monday, have breakfast, and go to bed for a few hours before seeing the sights. I had spent a few months emailing the team to ensure our room was ready and it was not given away (there policy is to give the room away if you don't show up by 5am). During several emails, I was reassured that all I had to do was call the hotel the day before and check in over the phone, which I did. I spoke with a girl (you know who you are and so does your manager) who was very rude, all she kept saying is 'I can't help you and I can not keep your room, I do not have time to help you I have other people waiting'. I then tried to explain that I had been emailing and have written proof that I was able to call ahead and check in and that there were notes on the system. It wasn't until I said this that she said she would ask her manager but kept insisting that she couldn't help and could not confirm. To be honest, I was really worried about travelling to London anyway because we are not used to city life, we are from the rural North. This one conversation alone tipped me over the edge, and already my trip to London had started on a sour note 😔 To gain reassurance, I contacted Premier Inn again via email like I had done previously, and the lovely manager Maria apologised for the inconvenience and confirmed we were checked in and the room would be ready on our arrival the next morning. On arrival, no one knew about it, and we had to wait half an hour at reception for someone to sort everything out 😒 Rooms were dated with mould in the shower, I've stayed in much better Premier Inns previously, much cleaner, and much more professional. We had breakfast on arrival, which was freezing cold. However, we did eat in the restaurant on the night, which was quite nice. The girl who served us never smiled until the end though when she realised we had left her a decent tip, we didn't get great service but I feel sorry for anyone who has to pay big city cost of living prices on minimum wage. Would I stay there again, no! The only reason I have given an average review as opposed to a poor review was because of the new starter who was working Monday morning (he didn't have a name badge and said he had only been there a few day-he was great) and Maria who provided reassurance. Plus, it was close to Victoria Station, I'm a little disheartened because my history with Premier Inn has been very positive. It's such a shame 😞
