Appena arrivati a Londra, ancora con le valigie al seguito prima ancora di raggiungere l'hotel, ci siamo fermati qua per un pranzo veloce. Zed ci ha accolti con tanta simpatia e disponibilità, consigliandoci cosa bere e cosa mangiare, che dire....domani ci torniamo! Consigliatissimo!

Ekte britisk pub! Fotballkamp på tv, høyt og engasjerende volum på gjestene rundt. Bestilte en øl og fish & chips, god pubmat som mettet godt! Ikke stedet for en rolig kveld, men kommer absolutt tilbake!

The pub is a typical British pub locate near Victoria Station. The atmosphere was amazing, the food was great and the prices in the standard. The waiters were nice. Not every meal on the menu was available.

We loved our recent dinner at St George's Tavern. Great service and a nice environment. We both had the pies and they were lovely. Desserts were nice too.

The set up is very nice. We went for Sunday roast with family and friends. We were a little disappointed that there was no pork option, just beef, chicken and vegetarian roast. The service was very good, and when we mildly complained that they did not have any crumble that day, the chef agreed to make us some.

Very nice food as is pretty normal at most Nicholsons pubs. Service was very friendly and efficient. Would recommend for good pub food and drinks .

The friendliest staff anywhere. Walked in without a reservation and although no tables available in dining room, we were given a table in the pub where we could order the same food. Classic English meat pies were great. Highest praise to staff, ambiance and food. Definitely go back there again next trip

We came here after a long journey to the UK from Australia - the kids first visit to the UK - and we were so impressed that we ate here both nights we were staying in London. Erica was incredible, she gave us great seats, helped us choose from the menu (we were super tired!) and even made sure the kids got the kind of chips they wanted, above and beyond what could have been expected. The second night was just as good, food is amazing (try the pies) and Erica tempted me to try a few different local beers which were great. A wonderful first experience in the UK for my children and somewhere I already miss now we're back home. Thanks Erica, you're a legend :-)

We stopped in here for dinner and ordered the Steak and Pale Ale Pie with the Chicken Schnitzel. Our food was good, and we had a very pleasant server.

Ordered the brisket burger. Good size. Tasty. Good amount of pulled brisket and cheese on top. Only ate a few pieces of chips. They have a good amount of beer on tap. Friendly service.

My wife and I were staying nearby, and St George’s provided a fantastic place to eat and relax after long days of touring. The steak and ale pie was phenomenal, as were other dishes. Staff is super nice. You can tell it’s popular with locals, and for good reason!

Visiting London we decided to find a pub to have some good fish and chips. Well, St. George Tavern was the perfect place. Our waitress Erica, was working so hard, but kept a smile on the whole time. Bartender Kayleigh was a excellent. Thank you

Came for a meal and a drink before going to see Wicked for the 6th time with my partner first time in this venue and I would highly recommend Erica was an absolute delight and so friendly. Thank you for looking after us :) See you next time

I had a delightful experience in St. George's Tavern and recommend it.I dropped in for a pint while my wife and mother were getting their hair done nearby. I enjoyed my time there so much that I brought them back after their hair was finished, and they were also both delighted.The tavern is conveniently located near Victoria station, it is roomy inside and the food and drink were quite good.But the thing I found most remarkable was the customer service and how hard the two people that I interacted with, Theo and Nick, were working while we were there. With the amount of attention being paid by both I originally assumed that they were the owners.Both were polite and easy to talk to, they knew the menu front-to-back, were helpful in selecting food and drink, and brought our orders to the table promptly. When they weren't busy helping customers they were paying attention to details; Nick would grab a sweeper or clean a table while Theo ensured that all the glasses and utensils were spotless.

First the staff in the restaurant are absolutely brilliant, we can't thank them enough for their kindness it was very special. The food and service is first class, the atmosphere is also excellent we will without doubt be going there when we next visit London

The restaurant was warm and inviting. The menu was varied and offered value for money. Our waitress was professional and friendly and offered good advice on the dishes available. We eat here 2 nights in a row !

There is both outdoor and indoor seating and a good range of beers and food. Pies are their speciality. We visited for dinner and I had the Lancashire hotpot pie which was very good. My wife had a lovely toasted sandwich bursting with filling.We also visited on a lunchtime and shared a substantial club sandwich.Would recommend.

Pub is just down the road from Doubletree Hilton Victoria, if you're in the area it's a treat on your doorstep. Excellent food, beer and service. Very good value for money and very good selection on the menu. Will definitely visit again when back in Victoria.

Had time before catching a coach at the nearby Victoria station and had pie and a pint.Food was piping hot and came really quickly, friendly staff who were attentive without crowding. Beer was pretty good. £30 for a meal with pudding which I felt reasonable value.Note: I reserve 5 stars for the places with the 'special touch' so 4 stars is 'recommended'

We’d eaten here a few years ago and thought it would be a good choice as we’d really enjoyed the food. Not nearly as good this time. We liked the food options and were looking forward to a good meal. My veg hotpot was only ok, it was described as having sautéed potatoes on top but really there weren’t many. Usually a hotpot has a complete layer not just a few spaced slices. My husband said his cottage pie was tasty but only had three chunks of beef in it. Good pub for a drink but not sure I’d eat there again.

Lively little boozer with a reasonably varied choice of food.Specialises in pies, so I chose a Trio of Mini Pies with Mash & Steamed Veg. Not huge portions, which isn’t an issue for me as I like to taste rather than devour if you understand what I mean, & the taste was good - so I could savour the pulled beef & ale, chicken balti & shepherd’s pies.Location close to everything in & around Victoria including the station & theatres & within easy walking distance of Buck Palace & Westminster.

We stopped here while our daughter was having passport interview. Great range of beers and ales. We both had the steak which is reasonably priced mine was a bit fatty but very tasty all in all would recommend this bar.

My wife and I enjoyed a delicious meal of fish & chips, mushy peas, hard cider, pale ale, and caramel toffee pudding at St George's Tavern... the atmosphere is authentic British and was perfect for our first meal in London.

Went for dinner in the Churchill Dining room in the cellar. Had excellent fish & chips, crispy, fresh and complemented with mushy peas. Washed it down with a nice craft lager. Decent service, with prices a bit marked up, but justified by the quality and quantity served.

Had a meal here on 1.2.20. We sat in churchill's restaurant. Both myself and my partner had the hunters chicken and it was lovely. What really makes this establishment brilliant is the staff. They couldn't be anymore welcoming or helpful, especially the lady who served us and the gentleman behind the upstairs bar. Couldn't recommend this pub more highly

I thought I’d try the beef and ale pie,as it was a really cold day and I needed something warming. Unfortunately it was very disappointing,the pastry had no flavour at all and the filling the same. Will not be going back.

Visited Saturday 8th Feb before going to see wicked at the Apollo. What an amazing eatery. We were sat in Churchill’s dining room and from the minute we arrived til leaving the waitress was the most attentive I have ever known. Superb food, service and the wine wasn’t bad either!! Will defo return this is a must!!

After having a pint upstairs on a business trip, I ventured downstairs to the cellar restaurant bar and I am so glad I did.

Gran pescado y patatas fritas, nos quedamos en el Airbnb cerca y fuimos a cenar aquí. El pescado fue increíble y fue nuestra primera experiencia en Londres. Pagas tu comida en el bar y ellos te la traerán. . Como estadounidense, no sabía si se suponía que debía dar propina en Londres, pero lo hice en un 15% por si acaso.

Entramos porque queríamos probar el típico desayuno, un señor plato con sus huevos, salchichas, judías, etc... Y sólo tuvimos que entrar y pedir. En un par de minutos nos habían servido. En esas horas de la mañana el lugar parecía tranquilo y agradable.

Ambiente agradável, bom atendimento, grande variedade de cervejas e outras bebidas. Comida londrina de qualidade.

Don’t just stay to the ground floor, make your way downstairs to the Cellar area! Tasty food awaits you and super good location for the busy traveller. We recommend very warmly! Specially the really good food campagnes is worth a mention.

Alors.... nous sommes venu ici dans l idée de manger un typique fish and chips dans un typique pub anglais... vu les commentaires j étais plutôt enthousiaste. Mais .... 1/ pas de bol, personne ce soir là donc pas d ambiance (ok, ce n est pas de leur faute) 2/ pas de carte des boissons et un serveur qui ne connaît pas la liste des vins et bières proposés....3/ le fish and chips était frit dans une huile de toute évidence à la mauvaise température et les frites complètement froide. Du coup de la bonne friture 100% indigeste....du coup ben on va vite rentrer à l hôtel essayer de digérer en paix ...Je voulais vraiment mieux pour notre dernière soirée à Londres!

Je pensais qu’un établissement proche de la gare Victoria serait habitué aux touristes. Nous n’étions pas du tout les bienvenus. Il y avait l’air d’avoir une bonne ambiance mais n’étant pas bilingue nous avons eu un accueil plus que désagréable. 3 serveuses, pas un sourire. Nous n’avons pas traîné et nous ni remettrons plus les pieds.

Visited this pub with some family who were visiting from the US and had an amazing meal.The basement Churchill dining rooms were beautifully decorated for the beginning of Christmas and the lady that served us was so helpful and polite but unfortunately cannot recall her name. We had a mixture of British food including curry and fish and chips and all were exceptional. We have have two young children and I thought the children’s menu was particularly good and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to recommend this, cannot believe I have worked close to this but never knew it existed, a real gem of a pub.

Good food, a very hard working waitress that had a lot of table to cover downstairs and did a fine job with it.

Great food shame the manager and chef are unreasonable, 12.03 ran to the pub to order a breakfast and was told I could not have because 3 minutes late, had the ale pie amazing but the bad judgment of the manager and lack of customer service left a bad taste in my mouth.

Went here for dinner prior to going to Wicked. The upper level was very busy, where the lower restaurant was quite, cosy and attractively decorated. The lady who served us was delightfully friendly, humorous and helpful. We shared the fish platter and followed up with the game pie, both of which were good. Plenty of craft beers on tap too. The theatre was just a five minute walk away.

What a great historic pub with excellent staff and multiple beer choices. The food was also worth mentioning.

We chose to lunch here while visiting Londinium. Close to Vic station, Nicholson chain of pubs. Lovely old building with loads if character. Pub / restaurant, decent choice of ales, good service from bar and restaurant staff. Triffic pies on offer.

Decided to eat here as it was close walking distance to our hotel and reviews seemed favorable. The staff was not friendly trying to accommodate a party of 4 for very early (5pm) dinner. We did manage to find a table on our own. There was definitely a steady stream of after-work patrons so it became very loud, very quickly. The food was average pub food. 3 of our party got the Shepherd's Pie and I got the chicken and mushroom pie.

This place is always busy with a lively crowd. Which makes it a fun place... with poor service. The food was decent. My boyfriend had fish and chips and I had Toad in the Hole. We had to beg a server for salt and literally prove our salt shaker was empty.

Great pub scene with a good selection of beers with a full bar. The food was very good and reasonability priced. If you are not into the louder bar there is a restaurant in the basement with the same menu and their own quieter bar.

Absolutely terrible meal here. We came as a group of 6 for dinner with a reservation. The table was not ready on time as the restaurant was busy and had a few reservations, however they still only had one waitress and so the service was reasonably non-existent. We came at 6pm on a Sunday evening, they had sold out of all roasts and had 2 pies left on their menu, despite being a "pie house" and taking pride in their roasts. 4 of us ordered the steak and ale pie, which was genuinely the worst pie I've ever eaten. The pastry was dense and soggy, the filling was favlourless. It came with gravy which literally had the flavour and consistency of water, and the mash was tasty but had obviously been sitting there a while and had developed a crust around the sides. To add to this delightful experience, the women's toilets were out of order so we had to use the disability toilet which had no soap. I asked the waitress for some and two hours later there was still none, so I sure hope she was using a different toilet. Overall one of the worst meals I've had in my 2 years in London.

The atmosphere is just part of the experience: low lights, nice seating, cheerful personnel. The food, is the rest! You should try the pie: it's award winning, and there's a reason! Toad in the hole is also a great dish. Beers, well, it is a pub, what would you expect?

Zajrzeliśmy do niego po drodze do hotelu i to był dobry wybór. Tradycyjne fish&chips; bardzo dobre, spory wybór piw. Dobra obsługa, jedyne na co można narzekać to skromny wybór dla wegetarian. Turyści mogą poczuć klimat londyńskiego pubu.

Siamo stati una sera a cena. Abbiamo ordinato fish and chips e pie specials. Prima volta che li assaggiavamo e ci sono entrambi piaciuti. Lo staff gentile e per la mia esperienza, lo consiglio.

This pub was down the street from our hotel. We decided to pop in for one of their savory pies. We were there at an off time (between lunch and dinner), so it was not crowded at all. The pies were big and very tasty. It is served with mashed potatoes, roasted carrots & greens. A very hearty meal. Wait staff was very nice. Overall, a very nice meal.

Can't fault the service or the food. Perfectly cooked calamari. Great sized portions. And you can't leave without having a dessert - try the trio of desserts!

Pub anglais typique qui propose aussi une partie restaurant avec des plats légèrement chers mais une cuisine bonne. Service de qualité, néanmoins comptait 2 à 5 livres de plus à votre commande.

We elected to meet at this place because it was near Victoria station. I would recommend finding somewhere else (there are other places a few blocks away that are infinitely better).

We stayed in the area and had our first meal at St George's Tavern. The staff were all so friendly, and the food was fantastic. I had the beef pie and everyone at the table was jealous, delicious flavour and very generous size. The menu has lot's to choose from you can see why it's popular.

Muchas gracias a Erica nuestra camarera en la sala de Churchill anoche 1/8. El servicio prestado por ella a pesar de que estaba sola en una tarde ocupada fue excelente. Erica se aseguró de que nuestras bebidas siempre estuvieran en orden, incluso teniendo tiempo para obtenerlas del bar de arriba era muy apreciado. Erica satisfizo todas nuestras necesidades en la comida también. Camarera superior y un crédito una verdadera estrella para la taberna de la calle Georges.

Dopo una giornata passata a Stonehenge ho deciso insieme a mio cugino di cenare in questo pub molto vicino a Victoria Station e al nostro alloggio. Il pub fa parte di una catena di ristoranti che ho avuto modo di provare durante il mio primo giorno di soggiorno a Londra, quindi sono andata a colpo sicuro sulla scelta. Essendo un po' tardi non avevano tutta la selezione di pie proposta nel menù così ho ripiegato su un ottimo fish and chips croccante e gustoso, accompagnato da una salsa tartara leggera e del purè di piselli. Mio cugino, memore della prima esperienza, ha nuovamente ordinato il Nicholson's burger che ha gradito ancora di più della volta precedente perchè cotto alla perfezione, con pane croccante e fragrante, il bacon che si scioglieva in bocca e il formaggio filante al punto giusto. La vera leccornia sono però i dolci che vi consiglio assolutamente di provare, in particolare il brownie con gelato e il pudding accompagnato da una sfiziosa crema. Il personale è stato cordiale e gentile, puntuale e preciso nel servizio che è stato veloce, ma di buona qualità.

During a recent visit to London, we went to St. George's Tavern twice- once for drinks only and again for dinner. We really enjoyed both visits to this pub. The atmosphere was easy and the staff was helpful. I witnessed the bar staff help several customers of different nationalities and limited English choose a beer that they would enjoy and be very patient during their interactions.

Unfortunately, I went here with a school group. I’d give it a higher rating if I’d just had drinks there, but their group food was limited in taste and quantity.

You are spoilt for choice for food outlets in the area including numerous gastro pubs. St Georges however gives you basic fare tasty and filling without the frills. Clean atmospheric interior, bustling but not crowded. You find a table ,order and pay at the bar. The staff were helpful and friendly. Wide range of beers. Situated behind Victoria Station just up from the Passport Office.o

Just steps from Victoria Station on the less-traveled south side, this traditional English pub makes you feel like a local from the start. Excellent food, including 3 appetizers for 10 pounds. You have to order from the bar, but they bring it to you. Not overrun. Wish I lived near this place to go weekly.

Tipico English pub frequentato da inglesi e stranieri. Come ogni pub all'esterno pieno di gente che sorseggia boccali di birra. Entrata un po caotica (anche se erano appena le 19) e pieno di gente che andava e veniva. Poi una ragazza molto gentile ha capito che volevamo cenare e ci ha accompagnato al piano inferiore... Tutto un'altro mondo. Atmosfera sorprendentemente tranquilla e intima, con riferimenti a Churchill che amava frequentare il locale. Cibo ottimo. Bellissima esperienza.

Very nice pub serving a good variety of beers and tasty traditional foods. Pies are the specialty, but also salmon salad was very good. Service is fast and polite. Recommended!
