Boisdale of Belgravia in City of London, Westminster

Wonderful lunch - beautiful food, excellent wines, superb service and not that expensive. (More than one vegan 'choice' would have been appreciated, however).

Jazz brunch at this beautiful Belgravia restaurant. A famous genuinely old Scottish eatery a stones throw from Victoria Station. Food was a mixture of traditional Scottish fayre and contemporary top notch cuisine. The music was provided by an excellent accomplished jazz group with a singer who had a win in Britain's got Talent under his belt. The building is of Georgian origin and retains a lot of the original features and flavour giving a wonderful atmosphere. The service was exemplary and unobtrusive and although a little on the pricier side for drinks then wine was excellent and the cocktails delicious. Highly recommended for a good long Sunday lunch.

Old school Scottish steak place, classic and still great. Plus cigar room!

I always appreciate the deco inside Boisdale, cosy and original. Food is good, brasserie like. Service could definitely be improved though. Not cleaning table before dessert is a no-go in a restaurant such as Boisdale.

I had lunch here with a friend on Easter Sunday. Almost everything was great , apart from my lamb, which was inedible. I told the server. She apologised. However, no money was deducted from my bill. If food is inedible, I shouldn't be expected to pay for it. Very disappointed with this establishment.

One of my most favourite restaurants in the world!!! I wanted to try haggis and did some research about the best restaurants in London who offer this traditional dish. I was not disappointed. :) The food quality was out of this world and the service was excellent!!! I want to be back when I will be visiting London again.

An ideal place for a mid-week catchup with friends. The restaurant is ideally located just 5 mins walk from Victoria and the food was good, service excellent and the ambience great too.

Kinda rude not to mention discriminatory to first tell me there is no option to book for 1 person and then tell me to come with someone so I can buy two tickets instead of one.

Everything you'd expect from a fine dining establishment of their stature. Their gin and juniper cured venison is one of their really unique dishes.

Only went to see Susan Black singing Edith Piaf. Food was average, drinks exorbitant.

We had a fantastic evening at Boisdale Belgravia (see spoiler et the end). Our first time there, and the atmosphere was perfect. It was busy, but you could easily hear each other: the staff were terrific; the food and wine were excellent. Loved it. The only horrific moment was when Nigel Farage slid in and, like the Grim Reaper, crept through the dining room, grinning mendaciously through his nicotine-stained false teeth. Other than that, highly recommended!

If budget is not an issue, this is a nice little quiet place for business lunch. Seafood and steak are both good. Wine list is extensive.

Great meal as ever, and a special thank you to our wonderful and patient waitress who happily answered questions and even facilitated off-menu orders! One thing - please bring back the lobster bisque! A huge miss from the menu

A superb random discovery, with very pleasant staff, a delicious truffle burger, and a great atmosphere. Just a little expensive...

I booked this as a special dinner for my birthday. We paid for premium seats to hear Stephen Triffitt, we were sat in the middle of the room where I continuously got bumped into. We had a set menu, which is fine but NOT worth the price I paid. My steak was MR but one of the driest and flavorless steaks I’ve ever eaten. My friend had the venison sausage and it was just ok. The entertainment was ok, it appeared he really didn’t want to be there. The best part of the evening was the Prosecco and the staff tried to take it when it wasn’t even finished. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you just get the regular menu, which looked better than what we were offered! So disappointed.

We chose to dine at Boisdale because of its menu and the live entertainment. This British restaurant is located in Belgravia, London. This unique upscale restaurant has a lively atmosphere. Nice vibe and decor. Tables are very close to each other though. Great selection of food but the service was poor and so slow from the very beginning. It got worse when this place got busy as the live band started around 9pm. I had half a dozen of natural oysters for starter. Fresh and meaty. My main, the Fish Pie was loaded with generous amount of seafood and so delightful. Everyone else was happy with their food too. We had to wait for quite awhile to get attention to order for some desserts. We almost changed our mind for it. Anyway, the sticky toffee pudding was delicious but we’re all agreed that it would be nicer to have it with ice cream instead of cream. Their bar is in a separate room and on the right side of the restaurant. Restrooms are located upstairs. We’re not impressed with the service. Our server wasn’t attentive and seemed too occupied. Probably the restaurant was too busy but NO excuse!

Sat outside for lunch on a Sunday - great Vantage point as we could hear the live jazz music indoors but could also enjoy good weather. Food was fresh and well presented, the wines prosecco went down a treat, service was good and the combination of Al fresco dining, music, good company in the sun made for a great atmosphere. One of the highlights - the apple crumble desert with custard - absolutely delightful - worth a visit for that alone. Highly recommended

Very cool place. Kind of speak-easy ish. Was there during the week, so it wasn't too crowded. We were able to get a table, but I suggest reservations, especially on weekends.

Had a great evening with friends. Friendly staff, good selection of whiskeys and cigars. Will come back.

Wow, what a wonderful and welcoming atmosphere! Drinks list to put any whisky bar to shame, very comfortable seating with heaters and blankets, and excellent service. Well done, Boisdale of Belgravia, full marks. Note - I did not have any food, but what was being served around me looked and smelled delicious, and by the happy faces who indulged, one can only surmise that the cuisine is fabulous!

Food is lovely but lost a star as served Sunday lunch in a bowl type plate which made cutting tricky, but atmosphere lovely, staff excellent and if you like intimate live music good food would recommend, will be retu personally

Had plenty of good meals here but everything about this was average. The food, the service. There was the feeling that they just wanted to get you in and out. The communication was sharp to the point of feeling dismissive. Hopefully this is a one off but as we were celebrating a 40th birthday we we all a bit disappointed that the service was so mediocre and it didn’t feel special

Lovely little place, really nicely decorated, comfy, cosy, cool and chic. Reminiscent of smoky jazz 1920s vibes (minus the smoke!). Food was nice, haggis was delicious!

I’d been longing to go to Boisdale for a good many a year, but I was left very disappointed. To begin with the service was very poor to say the least. The wine (red) was cold as indeed was where we were seated. Service improved once we had a new waitress and the food was great, but nevertheless the whole experience was disappointing.

Disjointed service and luke warm food at exorbitant prices. Time for this restaurant to take a reality check.

We loved it all except our waitress. Disinterested. Sat at the end for 30 min with dessert menus ready to get something but she never came. Our water was empty. We just got the bill finally and left. She was like a disgruntled grad student who resented the clientele. A shame - it was lovely decorated for Christmas, the food we did order was good and the music was festive

Food was underwhelming and cold. Service was incredibly slow. Also we had booked a table in the room with no music (on purpose) but were sat in the main room with music when we arrived and realised when we got the bill that we had to pay an extra £40 for that option. Maybe a little warning would have been nice? Overall a really disappointing experience.

A highly anticipated dinner that didn’t quite live up to expectations. The service was rushed and inattentive. Staff were visibly on their phones rather than table-side. The food was mediocre on the whole. The atmosphere, lighting and decor can’t be faulted. The live show is worth experiencing.

I've been here more times than I can recall. Welcoming staff have always been the highlight, and coupled with live music and a wide drinks choice we've always had great evenings. Whether it's a bottle of Gavi, cigars or a bottle of whiskey we've never had before, every night has been excellent.

First time at Boisdale Belgravia on Friday evening. We had booked dinner and show tickets to see Vanessa Haynes. It was a fantastic evening. The staff were superb from start to finish. Really friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We had the salmon and crispy squid to start and then the luxury fish pie and fillet steak. All excellent, as were the drinks. The show was amazing. Vanessa Haynes is off the chart as a singer and performer and the band were top class musicians. A must see as they are booked through next year already. A very special birthday celebration night!

Such a great spot for a Sunday lunch - atmosphere was amazing and really enjoyed the jazz band playing. Service was amazing and everyone looked after us so well. Sadly the beef was really poor - had a lovely flavour but it was so fatty and hard to cut through - was disappointing as everything else was great.

The staff was rude and rushed. We felt neglected most of the evening having to ask for more water and drink refills. My son and his girlfriend ate oysters and got seriously ill! Called Boisedale Belgravia to speak to the manager about the BAD OYSTERS and staff member would not even give me the manager’s last name. Not a nice place. Very downmarket and will never go back.

We got to the place to have a drink, with a big group. We agreed with the person at the entry we wouldn't have to pay the entry fee as we were going to spend on drinks there. Then, when we were sitting, the manager came, he was extremely aggressive , screaming to us that we had to pay the entry fee. Everyone else in the place was reasonable but he behaved like a mobster. We paid for our entry fee and left shortly after. I would really recommend avoiding this place, particularly if you want to have a night without disturbance, it was really bad. The entry fee is £10 without drinks or anything, for a restaurant.

We went to the Richard Hadfield entertainment dinner last night and it was brilliant from the staff to the food and must definitely the entertainment. Was very worried about going after all the bad reviews but it was brilliant.

I went to Boisedales on Friday with a group of friends. We were all looking forward to it. One of my friends ordered the Minute steak detailed PINK and after the Waiter assured her it would be. You can imagine her disappointment when it arrived overdone, she queried this and the waiter was nonchalant. She asked whether it could be replaced and he claimed as its thin cut it cooks quickly and the next one would turn out exactly the same!!! I was aghast because even I can even cook a minute steak pink.... She ate it reluctantly and we continued with our meal but the atmosphere had changed, as we were upset with the waiter who had not even offered to replace it. We were further shocked after being ignored when the Waitress began clearing our glasses without even asking whether we wanted more drinks, it was obvious they wanted us to leave. We had the table booked until 9 and we left shortly after 8 due to the chilly atmosphere. Since departing we have all emailed the Head detaling our experience as we realised they had the audacity to bill us for service!!! Each of us have received the same bogstandard response - someone will be in touch, that was on Monday..... After the service we received and the chef not being able to cook a minute steak!! My friends and I will not be visiting Boisedales again!!!

Great Sunday Jazz lunch food was great and service excellent would recommend it

Appalling service, and really didn’t care that my steak was not pink as advertised. Also our glasses were removed from our table without even asking if we wanted anymore to drink. Also when staff were politely asked about these things they showed no customer service skills - more like attitude. We all left this place feeling angry and upset - never to return.

Great place to experience traditional british/scottish cuisine. Went for the first time to take my wife for her birthday, and she absolutely loved it. The staff were great and very accomodating (we even received a delicious pudding since it was her birthday), the restaurant itself is beautiful and the courses speak for themselves. It was my wife's first time trying the Haggis and she loved it. The prices were also reasonable. Would absolutely recommend booking a reservation here :)

What a fabulous night out at Boisdale…the entertainment with an Aretha Franklin tribute was world class…the staff brilliant and so friendly..the food delicous..l had the fish pie…stunning! We loved our visit and can’t wait to return…

Stumbled upon this restaurant by pure luck, and had a wonderful evening. Great live music show and delicious cocktail. A big thank you to the waiters, who were all very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

A NIGHTMARE OF SERVICE. They ruined our friend's birthday celebration. We arrived all happy to celebrate all together and one drunk man from the first floor came downstairs and tried to have a fight with our friend, the security didn't do anything and the staff were not helpful. Then during the night having dinner we asked the waiter for a drinks menu and took them 15min to come with the menu " so many of you and we don't have enough staff" I said OK no problem, trying to be understanding but 5min later during my steak asked me to pay the full bill without even have a glass of wine. Disgraceful!! SHAME ON YOU BOISDALE! what sort of service is that?. You ruined everyone's night

We were a big group having a meal celebrating our friend's birthday but the staff were unprofessional. My friend who is vegan had to pay for a salad and a plaint pasta the same amount of a steak and the male waiter as soon as we started eating our mean meal asked us to pay. Our friend asking to come back later ans he refused (he was rude). Started small salmon (not great) mean course steak (it was fab, at least something good) , BILL then a small cheesecake. It's a joke this place. Do not visit or waist your money

I came from Spain to celebrate my dearest friend's 40th birthday. We had a horrible experience at boisdale, the service was very poor and in the middle of our meal we got asked to pay and demanding 13.5% service charge which by law is not an obligation to pay as during the time in there the whole staff were rude. We asked them to remove the service charge by saying NO YOU HAVE TO PAY!. This is not acceptable and plus the food was cold and small. Avoid this place as you will have a bad experience and they will ruin your night. Over price food and rude staff

I attended my friend’s 40th hosted by Boisdale Belgravia. I was very disappointed with the whole experience from start to finish. I paid £85 for what I would describe as “minimal food” leaving me feeling hungry after. Dessert was a cheese board (cheese is traditionally served after the dessert). I was also made to pay for the three-course meal whilst eating my main course so that the staff could finish early for the night. Drinks were overly priced and there wasn’t adequate variety of drinks on offer at the private bar so we were made to go to the main bar to purchase drinks. They closed our private area at 11pm so they could set up for breakfast the next morning (even though my friend had booked this room until 1am). A random man was allowed entry into our private function and was drunken and disorderly causing a fight to break out with this man and the host of the party. This is despicable and at no point did we feel that the staff understood. In fact some of the staff were rude at times. I would not recommend this place.

Good forbid you have a bad experience here. You'll get tarnished as a liar by their own staff. Unprofessional and overpriced 👎

What an amazing place! The staff were so friendly, the drinks were delicious and the music was fantastic! After a very disappointing experience earlier on in the evening elsewhere, we were saved by Boisdale!

I’d heard so much about this restaurant but it was shabby, no atmosphere and the food was awful. Worst steak of my life - tough & flavourless. It was probably the most expensive steak too. Don’t mind paying for delicious food but this was just terrible. Steak comes with nothing either - all extras. Starters were warm and very average, infact below average.

Our family had a fantastic dinner at Boisdale! The food was delicious, the service was warm and attentive, and the jazz band was awesome! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Went here at short notice as was not familiar with the area. Shown to the table where we were both squeezed into a small alcove. The waiter came over and told us to stop drinking the water we were drinking. We carried it in from the street, so they knew we had it with us. The waiter was very slow in bringing us menus. Which he eventually did. While choosing more customers (table of four) were seated close to our table. After about 15 minutes of waiting we were still waiting to give our order. In the meantime the table of four had their order taken. We had our order taken. The food didn’t take too long to come. Had the beef burger with thrice cooked chips. Girlfriend had the fish cake and mashed potato. The burger was too salty and badly seasoned. Chips were ok. My girlfriend had the fish cake and mash. The mash was fine and very nice. However the fish cake was quite bland and again very salty. The girlfriend could not eat it. It came in a bed of crushed peas. These were the tastiest part of her dish. She soon became bored of the blandness and left it. Having endured this meal I asked for the bill which was present quickly. I paid up and on doing so noticed I had been charged 13.5% service charge. It mysteriously appeared on the bill. I’m not tight but I expect to be left to leave a tip of my own volition and not automatically be charged. I did not find the service at all worthy of a tip and also the food was not if the quality where I would have left a tip. This restaurant are taking the micky out of the customers. Definitely not use this place again.

Visited this branch of Boisdale for a business meal on a Monday night and I couldn’t fault the place. Granted, it was a Monday night but it was busy. Atmosphere was great, food was superb and service excellent. Only knocked one star off because both wines that I ordered were not available - they could have made note of that beforehand. Will visit again for sure.

We booked for dinner and the show on a Monday night , it was a Frank Sinatra tribute act which was very good , the evening started with excellent cocktails , the starters were good in particular the Haggis , the main cause Fillet Steak was good ,however the fishcake was nothing special , the fine wines are very good but do come with a Belgravia price tag , to round the meal off we had the best cheese & biscuits to finish , very nice and served at the right temperature with a nice glass of vintage port . table 63 or 56 are good .

Always a great experience and this time made special by Aursa who looked after us from the moment we arrived. So many good memories have been made here and many more to come I hope.

We’ve visited a few times, for dinner but on our latest visit it was for cocktails and cigars!! The lovely Ausra looked after us, it was super busy but she rolled the red carpet out and took great care of us. Really knowledgable about Cigars and was able to talk us through our favourites. The atmosphere in here is incredible, relaxed with beautiful timeless settings. You couldn’t ask for anymore. 10/10 as always. If you’re looking at a place for dinner with fabulous wholesome food and lovely staff- you’ve got it here!! The band that was playing were amazing too… all in all, this is the place to be!!
