The best restaurants serving Asian food in Burnley North West

The massaman curry from here is amazing! It's a great place to grab some lunch. Staff are always friendly and very helpful. Me and partner love to come and grab lunch together on Fridays, always a nice treat. Defiantly recommend

First time ordering from here and extremely impressed. The food was delicious, arrived piping hot and earlier than the estimated time. It has to be the best takeaway we have had in a very long time, and my hubby said it was the best tasting curry

We were staying in a hotel not too far away and chose this one courtesy of Google maps. It's a good job we booked in advance as this place is very busy. When we sat down at 6.30pm on a Friday night it was at their last available table. It's only a small place and the tables are quite close together. It was a bit loud for us foggies but with a friendly vibe, however I am not sure I would choose it for a romantic occasion. Considering how busy it was together with a hectic take away trade the service was surprisingly quick. We had an extra poppadom which hasn't happened for a long time, and the chutney tray was excellent. We had our usual sheekh kebab which was very tasty, not overly warm but that's often the case. Our waiter noticed that we had shared our starter, we always do as we struggle to eat our mains at the best of times. He then said 'you are going a la carte' then? I was confused. Chicken balti and chicken garlic chilli chicken with plain rice. I prefer pilau we don't do food colouring, plus chips and a garlic and coriander naan. All was very good but the flavour of both of the curries had a slight hint of what seemed like a pickle or vinegar. I enjoyed mine but the wife was less keen. We didn't get to see a drinks list but Kingfisher suits me and the wife was pleased they had a merlot. The bill came and it was a bit more expensive than expected but it was then I wondered if there was on offer on that we weren't aware of, if so I'm a bit miffed. Perhaps that would also explain it being so busy. Parking was a bit of a pain but worth the effort.

Have been using Shagor for over 20 years, and my Mother since they opened in 1988. Best curry in Burnley, great service and reasonable prices. They have a variety of meals and extremely friendly staff. Keep up the good work!

Lovely food! Would definitely recommend. Attended for a family members birthday and the staff couldn't do enough for us.

Attended on Saturday 7th February 2025 at 5.30 PM. The ambiance was miles off. Brightly lit, no candles, no chopsticks and definitely not an authentic Cantonese. The room was cold and lacked a cosy atmosphere. The staff were polite and efficient enough but twice we sent the crockery back because the plates were cold. In my opinion hot food goes on hot / warm plates. When they did get the hang of bringing warm plates they brought them 10 minutes before the food! The food was nice but not hot enough due to cold plates! Very disappointed and will not be returning.

A very clean & tidy place but they got our order wrong, kids had to wait for food. Our peri peri burgers had no salad & were bland. So disappointing

Absolutely shocking. The tables were covered in rice and the floor covered in chicken. A group of teenage lads came in vaping and swearing and chucking food. I informed a member of staff who said he didn’t think he was able to ask them to leave. We got burped at and sworn at all evening. We’d only nipped in for a quick bite but it’s not worth the clientele and kids allowed to run wild. Shame as the food wasn’t too bad but given that level of abuse allowed and vape smoke being blown at us, we won’t be going back.
