Food was ok, the vegetable chow mein was rather salty but had a nice portion of vegetables, the salt and pepper lamp chops didn't have much meat also dry. Unfortunately the chips were a little on the oily side and the egg fried rice favour was off not very pleasant. Nice to try new places I guess but I don't think I'll be coming back but thankyou for the experience.

Restaurant busy, but food and service excellent

Love the all you can eat buffet. Food is always excellent, service is spot on and pricing is very reasonable. Portions on the buffet as expected are slightly smaller than off the menu but not by much and it just means you can try another dish.

Been ten years ago since visited this place gone downhill completely I can and do regularly cook better food than we were served small badly prepared and presented portions with the ingredients looking like farmfoods reheated frozen meals then charged £50 for this gastronomic nightmare will never set foot in the place ever again even if they offered it for free

Got the all the can eat menu, the food was amazing! Even when we ordered 2 starters each they came out together and the quality was so so good. The staff were very attentive and made sure to check on us regularly. Very fairly priced for the amount eaten would highly recommend!

Our favourite place food is always amazing. The all you can eat is superb and fantastic value for money. Staff are always friendly and polite and make sure all your needs are met. Highly recommend to tey this place if you havnt already.

Very disappointed when we booked and payed a deposit for the buffet menu for a party of 9 only to find out the restaurant had stopped the all you can eat shortly before we arrived and never previously informed us. After seeing the whole restaurant on the buffet and speaking with the manager to find out they was not going to honour the deal I payed for made me question my return.

Some of the best Chinese food that I've ever tasted. The buffet option was exceptional value. The service was friendly and welcoming. Our waitress offered a number of suggestions that added to our dining experience. She was very knowledgeable about the different dishes on the menu and added to our enjoyment of the occasion. It's definitely worth a return visit.

I don’t normally write reviews but this place is a joke. We visited a few months ago and didn’t have a great experience as the food was just mediocre and staff seemed like they couldn’t be bothered but it was quite late in the day so we just got on with it. We decided to give this restaurant another chance as years ago it used to be great. This time we went on a Saturday, early evening. When we arrived there was already 3 tables being served so not busy to say there was 4 waiting on staff working. We were shown to our table and left with menus for the next 25 minutes without even an offer of a drink. During this 25 minutes, 2 other tables arrived and orders for both drinks and food were taken from both tables whilst we continued to be ignored. At this point we decided to leave and go to a different restaurant where we were offered drinks within 2 minutes of sitting down, an example of great service. We will not be returning to Bei Jing and suggest you don’t waste your time or money here either.

A buffet restaurant You choose from 2 starters and soup as many times as you want then choose as many main dishes as you want. The prawn toast is splendid, the crab claws terrible tasteless mush. The other starters are by far the best of the meal, several rounds of duck pancakes were consumed. On to the mains. Tried four dishes between 3 of us. All were conglomeration of vegetables in gravy. It was impossible to determine the satay from the Beijing from the garlic sauce. If I was told it all came out of one pan I couldn't disagree. The only way we identified the dishes was one was chicken one, another mixed meat and so forth. The place was recommended by my son's friend and we went for his birthday. There are better options than Bei Jing

Had a great meal tonight (6/10/23) food was fresh, hot and delicious. Katie served us and was really attentive and was knowledgeable on gluten free options.polite and friendly. Definitely going again.

I normally don't leave bad reviews but this was my worst Chinese food ever eaten! Food looked like wasn't even properly cooked or fried. Full of carrots and onions in all our mains.My seafood meal for £14 included 3 king prawns 2 tiny squids and one scallop thinly sliced with a gritty texture!!!! All the seafood looked like come from Farm foods!!! Absolute shocking!!! Will never go back there again! Very disappointed. Massively over priced. Wasted over £100 on 2 adults and 1 child's meals. Avoid!!!

Quick update.. food was great mostly, with the exception of one dish that i didn't find palatable, the matter was resloved and, as always, the waiting staff were superstars. So pleasant and professional. This will remain to be a favourite eaterie. Quality!.... visited here for the first time last night and I'm glad I did! I struggle with cantonese/chinese restaurants and takeaways usually as I find that the majority of them are quite bad, but this place has restored my faith! Very flavoursome dishes indeed, the all you can eat cooked to order is a great deal and worth trying! I couldn't fault a single thing. I have never enjoyed a chinese meal so much in my life. I am definitely coming here again! It's my new favourite food place! I am now editing this as an update as last night was my 3rd visit to the Beijing.. my verdict remains the same BUT I wouldn't go on a Sunday again simply because it was heaving (which is a good sign really as it shows its popularity) and had to wait half an hour for a table that I had booked in advance. The food was still good and the waitress staff really did their best and they are all so pleasant and patient as they were getting a bit of earache for the delays and incorrect food orders coming out, which wasn't even their fault. The drink orders from the bar seem to take an inexplicably long time, they could work on that, however, I went again last night and it was quieter and much better on the service front, including the drinks. I still rate this place full stars and unless the standard of food drops dramatically then I can't see me not being a regular for the foreseeable future (except on Sundays, never again! 😄)

Not been here for years but were gifted a voucher so thought we’d return. Wished we hadn’t bothered, what once was a thriving and proud business gone down to a shocking level. Some staff in tracksuit bottoms, t shirts and trainers, tables basic no chopsticks, bowls or anything authentic, really felt like the whole place just couldn’t be arsed. Food was mediocre at best and that is stretching it. We had a lovely waitress though who appeared embarrassed to be there herself but clearly a nice young lass who was studying and needed a part time job. Won’t be back and sad we wasted our time :(

Bit of a mess up with the table being ready, as we had prebooked days before, but was resolved swiftly. Food was really nice quality and good drinks. Overall wonderful meal.

Haven't been for quite some time, this used to be our favourite local restaurant. Went on a Saturday about 5pm, just 1 table in when we got there. We were asked what we wanted to drink as we walked to the table, we hadn't looked at the drinks menu. We ordered the set menu for 2 with an extra starter of salt and pepper mushrooms. Don't try them they are vile. The batter was incredibly tough and crunchy, not sure if they had been frozen and reheated? Mentioned it to the waitress and she said that's how they are, not how they used to be. The rest of the meal was so disappointing, really not how we remember it, unsure if it's changed hands? Waitresses also were not professional, on their phones at the bar and just wearing casual clothes, they just didn't look presentable or interested in their customers. The salt and pepper mushrooms were taken off the bill however we won't be back.

This place is really hit and miss, we went for the banquet and the food wasn't really hot, we didn't enjoy it at all and we were sat right next to the toilets.

Me and my family decided to give beijing a visit onSunday, as we entered, the restaurant looked busy. we were denied a table at first, we didn't understand why, but the manager explained there were tables booked on the empty tables we saw. but there is an availability in an hour so we were booked to come back an hour later. When we came back an hour later the whole restaurant was full, it was a lot more busier than when we first walked in, thank god we booked when we did. We opted in for the all you can eat menu, unlimited amount of the salt and pepper and starters, sounded amazing. We each ordered a soup first, then it was just salt and peppers round after round, in my opinion beijing has the best salt and pepper starters in the country, we tried many places (takeaway/restaurant) but no one comes close to Beijing's salt and pepper, they managed to balance their blend perfectly. After the unlimited amount of starters we made sure to save ourselves some room for their main, we could only manage a main each and 2 sides between the 4 of us but that was enough because we didn't want to waste any food. Their sweet and sour, chicken chilli and garlic, and green pepper and blackbean sauce were all served on a sizzling plate, that itself deserves some credit!! the delicious smell of the food fill the restaurant before arriving at our table. Overall we had a very good experience, we were glad we booked in for later as we understood why the restaurant was so busy, if you look at it from the outside, even till the moment we sat down, the restaurant seemed a little rundown, but don't let that deter you because you'll be missing out on the amazing flavours this restaurant has to offer. yeah the service is mediocre, the decoration need an update, BUT the food, the flavour!! shadows everything, if you are someone who want good food then this is the place.

We booked a table for 3pm on Mother’s Day for 3 adults & two young children (3 & 6 months). When we arrived we were told to wait so we sat & waited. And waited. And waited. We had to go to the bar & collect our drinks & were told that they were waiting for a table to finish before we could be seated. There were other tables visibly empty however we were told these were reserved for later yet we were there then so I didn’t understand this. We were finally seated at 3.50pm & told they needed the table back by 5!! The food was good don’t get me wrong, apart from the salt & pepper ribs which were awful however the organisation is shocking. Waited ages for drink refills that in the end we didn’t bother & just left. Ruined our day & wont be booking again.

Came with family for a Mothers Day meal. Had to wait 30 mins for our pre-booked table. No offer of a drink whilst we waited. No communication from staff about why there was a delay. Had to ask to order drinks and food once at the table, every course took ages to arrive. 45 mins before we got a drink. Tried to complain to the manager, who was adamant that I was wrong, it was Mother’s Day, what did I expect? Very rude manager. Kids meals were cold. Such a shame as the adult starters and mains were lovely. Just a shame about the service and managers attitude. Won’t be back unfortunately. What a shame.

UPDATE..Called in group of four, told "that side not open" left hand side fully void of people, but told cannot serve 4 of us .. our friends swore ever to return, in fact I think we will never return... went else where and spent 200 pounds so their loss!!! and future loss.. been going here for 20 plus years and sadly no more.. They deserve to struggle if they can turn away groups of four and probably more came in... yes should have booked but Tuesday night when we have booked, it's been quiet.. but to completely refuse a 4 to eat ... crazy.. and then they blame food prices and energy!!.whilst open use the same staff and energy make more brass... not ours anymore.. you can contact me owners to discuss but you have gone from 5 star to 1..

been here many times and generally like it, turned up tonight no booking Tuesday night four if us, after a three-time if staff looki g confused after asking if we had booked, no was the reply, they looked at each other and one said sorry if not booked we have no slatectables!!! looking at a sevennon the left side completely empty we said there's empty yabkes there.!!! then the reply," that side isn't open" really... ?? so we had to leave... basically a good 100 pound plus walked out and then they day they struggle... completely a poor case of judgement a table loss of 100 pound plus only thing is they are making enough tovrefuse but have capacity to sit gold.. obviously no customer care.. ironically table booked but no show but turned us away.. not be going back beingbtreated like that ... poor service and poor judgement call...

My son and daughter in law use this restaurant all the time and they love it. Me and my wife attended today (Sunday) for a birthday celebration, and ate from the very reasonably priced all you can eat menu. Wow wow wow. The meal was fantastic. Hot and sour soup, followed by an endless supply of duck and pancakes, chicken and pancakes, crab claws, salt and pepper chicken wings, BBQ spare ribs and then Kun Do spare ribs, seaweed, wantons, king prawn toast, and a lot more, it was never ending. When it came to the mains I was so full I could only eat a couple of sweet and sour chicken balls, which were lovely. My missus had the chicken in cantonese sauce and she really enjoyed it. Fantastic service throughout by very friendly, attentive but not over bearing staff. My son enjoyed the Chinese beer and I'm of an age were two pints was more than enough. What a fantastic night we were there for 3 hours, I enjoyed it and thanks to all the staff for helping us have a great birthday treat.

Best Chinese in the surrounding area. Food is always delicious and plentiful amounts. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately the outside of the restaurant is beginning to look tatty, but don’t let that put you off.

Went with family group, really looking forward to it as I had not bee able to visit since 2017 due to health problems. Was very disappointed, the salt and pepper wings were hard, almost inedible, and the char sui curry was awful, the meat was extremely chewy tough and slimy. Sent most of it back . A HUGE DISAPPOITMENT

Probably the best Cantonese food in Rossendale. Service was a bit iffy after covid but I think most places had similar issues. Last few times we have been service is back to what it used to be! Highly recommended.

The food there isn't fresh. Food hygeine is a big issue there, they saved left over food from previous customers and gave to another customer, e.g. used noodles, rice dishes. Imagine you are paying to eat somebody's saliva, that's disgusting! it can possibly cause food contamination.

Visited with a group of friends for the first time, although some of the group had been before. We opted for the buffet. The starters were mixed. Duck arrived with no pancakes. Soup was missing. Crab claws awful. Wonton parcels all pastry and no filling. Main courses were no better, Chow Mein tasteless. Fried beef overcooked. Best meal was the Satay Chicken. Avoid, there are better options in Rossendale!

Absolutely love this place, one of my favourite places to eat. The all you can eat is perfect everything I have tried is so flavoursome I always leave needed a nap afterwards because iv eaten to much 🤭. The service is a group of young girls who try their best to get you everything you need and very friendly, nothing is a problem for them. The place itself is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend to anyone especially if you have a love for salt and pepper like I do, the wings and ribs are the best I have tasted.

Food lovely and freshly cooked. Normally no problems but had absolutely shocking service on my last visit and the manager was no help whatsoever, even blamed the poor girl Waiting on us. Waiting an hour for each dish, not even busy in there. How can this be all you can eat!!

Have only been twice but had good food and decent service both times. It will be a place we will return too. The inside of the place could do with a freshen up but it's still a decent place to eat.

Be warned not a Cantonese Chinese restaurant. Not been for ages obviously changed hands no ethnic Chinese staff rings alarm bells. Lost our reservation.Food bland and all dishes indistinguishable from each other. Tasted like a bad supermarket ready meal. An extra point for staff being attentive and it was cheap. Anyone who rates this 5 stars has no taste or is in the pay of the restaurant you have been warned

VERY POOR... went for an all you can eat menu and after 2 hours had only been served soups and 1st round of starters so we decided it was best to leave, the waitresses did their best for us and were professional and apologetic but after complaining to the manager it was clear that he was the problem and just didnt care, tried to give us a 10% discount on a £144 bill, which was nowhere near good enough as we had eaten less than 50% of what we would of when paying for " all you can eat ", wont ever be returning and i strongly recommend you give this one a miss if you're hungry because all you can eat is what it definitely is not!!!

Nice food, all you can eat was good value but stick to the starters as we found those much better than the mains and you can't go back after you move to mains. Perfect for groups especially.

Having read the reviews on this page I have to say I disagree with the the food being poor. I have never had a bad meal here - I have eaten off the all you can eat previously, however this occasion was last night (Friday) and we ate from the standard menu.For a Friday night this place was empty. There were 3 other tables on our side of the restaurants with customers, which is less than half, and one of these was a staff member who had brought her family. The food we ordered was amazing. We had the mixed sharing starter, followed by Beijing beef with chow mein and chicken satay with fried rice - with an extra portion of salt and pepper chips. All tasted fabulous and was cooked fresh to order. Drinks wise we had a pot of Jasmine tea and a pint of sun lik, total bill was £51 something, so quite expensive. Portion sizes for the starter we as expected for the starter, fried rice and noodles were on the smaller side, but ultimately left full and not over faced.Down sides- Asked the waitress if we could change the salt and pepper chicken wings on the mixed starter for salt and pepper king prawns, said we were happy to cover the cost difference. Waitress said we didn’t need to and she could just swap them for us.The bill was brought to us without asking after clearing our dirty plates, along with being asked whether we wanted the card machine- considering most service is slow in this place I was surprised I was rushed at the end when we hadn’t finished our drinks. The Bill showed they had charged us for the seafood platter, not the mixed starter, not the end of the world but £3 dearer after we’d been told we didn’t have to pay extra. Menu states that fried rice, noodles or chips bought with a main meal are cheaper, we were charged full price. Brought this up with the waitress who apologised and changed the fried rice only- advising me that the till doesn’t show the rest as being cheaper. I paid but then went and got a menu to check. I showed the waitress the menu and the prices within, and she apologised and said that the till doesn’t let her do that. She clearly hadn’t thought about the fact that they’d overcharged us, and there was a delay in asking whether I wanted refunding. For me this isn’t about a £60p (noodles) Or £1.10 (rice) refund, it is about the restaurant over charging pretty much every person that comes in without telling them, as most people will have either rice, noodles or chips with their dinner, and then not owing and rectifying the mistake. Unfortunately I didn’t leave a tip, mainly because my tip money had already been charged.Having said all this, we would still return.

My daughter and I went for a.meal this evening we have not been for some time we always loved going there and were always pleased with the food and service, I must say we were both very disappointed in both the service and food the soup to start was beautiful can't fault it but the main dishes were both cold when staff came and we sent it back he only took the food left on the serving trays and left the plated foods like we were going to eat it (not) when he came back out it was clear the food had been put in the microwave we then had to ask him to take the plates away we won't be going back When it came to pay

Lovely food nice and hot when served

After not visiting for a number of years and previously enjoying I decided to return. We ate from the all you can eat menu when we dined. The staff are friendly and polite. Unfortunately the standard of food has dropped significantly, some dishes were “ok” but the majority were borderline inedible. We ate as much as we could to try and get our monies worth. We were left with very unsettled stomachs for the rest of the evening when we left. Will not be returning.

One of the worst dining experiences in a long time. Poor service and dreadful food. Kids waiting on were unsupervised and trying their best but it was total chaos - couldn’t help but feel sorry for them. If you’re passing this place keep on driving.

Worst food ever cannot be seen here again

Firstly sat at the very back of the restaurant and up a step even though I was escorting someone with obvious mobility issues. It wasn't full either so no reason to sit us there. Food.wasnt that great, has been better in the past.

UPDATE June 2021 (after my previous review from 7 years ago) After what must have been 18 months, we decided to finally have another Beijing take-away. Initially I was rather impressed, since placing the order went very smoothly and the front of house service was excellent in dealing with everything. Unfortunately this is where the positive experience ended. Having ordered quite a few dishes, not many were that enjoyable I'm afraid. The crispy duck wasn't crispy at all. It admittedly was a decent piece of duck but oddly the spring onions had been replaced by grated carrots. The Hoisin ribs (of which we ordered two) were very odd. These used to come in a Styrofoam container and just had a glazing of Hoisin sauce. Now these came in plastic containers floating in an excessive amount of sauce which can't be described as Hoisin sauce really...? (Now, normally crispy duck should come with Hoisin sauce or plum sauce which are rather similar, except for the plum obviously... so you would expect the ribs and duck to come with a similar sauce but nope that wasn't the case) My daughter was quick to point out that the meat on the ribs wasn't very nice either... "they used to be better, now they're chewy and greasy". The Salt & Pepper chips were barely edible... and were barely eaten. The amount of salt was excessive. The Special Fried Rice was overly greasy and just wasn't very nice. The Sweet & Sour chicken was absolutely fine. The Sliced Beef with Mixed Vegetables was actually really nice and so was the little side of Chow Mein noodles. When almost paying £50 for a take-away you would expect more than half of what your ordered to be satisfactory. If I could, I would have only given 2.5 stars. I rounded up based on my positive previous experiences and can only hope this was only a fluke. Not in a hurry to return now I'm afraid. # # # I only ever get take-away here, but the food is consistently excellent. If it wasn't for the fact that our little one doesn't manage to sit through an entire meal (yet) I would certainly also be tempted to book a table.

Now we are allowed to travel ( from Rochdale) we found this restaurant after a long walk. we ordered ribs, salt and pepper wings , then my favorite duck with prawn meat. It was all cooked fresh and we could not fault any of our order. Its the best takeaway we have had in ages. would we go back ? ..... yes please we already have.

New years eve 2020.Thought we would treat the family to a take away.The dishes on the menu were all explained well.This take away cost just short of £68 for 4 people so far from cheap but we thought it will be good.How wrong we were !!.The soups tasted like someone had been painting the kitchen or possibly warmed the soup up in the plastic dishes.The chicken curry was explained in a nice way on the menu but was the most mediocre I have had in a long time. The chicken was like jelly. The best thing was the prawn toast and that had soaked a lot of fat up.Sorry Beijing i have been eating in here for over 2 decades but your take aways are awful. And at that cost you should be ashamed of yourselves. Will have to find another chinese now.
