Shagor in Burnley

Ordered 2 meals and nan bread. Both curry’s tasteless and watery. The nan bread was doughy and dry and did not have any taste of garlic. Won’t be ordering in future

Not nice very salted partner sick 20 mins after eating it also cold when arrived horrible food won't not give it a staving dog

After listening to recommendation for this place, I realise that something has really caused this once fine takeaway to deteriorate. All the food had to be sent back. Tandoori chicken was oozing oil, Nan bread was like paper, Poppadoms were soggy, the onion chutney was a chopped onion ! Chips were cold and refried. To be fair the place was busy, but hygiene is still important, and very few of the guys had hats or nets on their hair, and I witnessed guts handling food with their fingers - not nice and especially in an open plan kitchen. We complained by telephone, and they pretend they could not hear three times, so eventually we took all the food back, they only gave a partial refund, and made excuses why the quality was so poor - 'this is the way we cook the food here' - well compared to the Aroma or the Usha this food and standard of service is way below par.

We ordered several dishes including tandoori starter & 2 main meals, baltl exotica special . Ri ce,,poppadoms The special should have had king prawn at a £1 extra not a prawn in, was then told they didn't do prawns but this wasn't mentioned on the phone when ordering. tough as old boots lamb which I could not chew through 5 pieces in total the rest was chicken tika it had no taste to it as was the same with the tandoori, also in the thick sauce was the biggest piece of cinnamon bark I have ever seen 4 inch by 3inch!! There is much more I could say, but my son did take it back what a nasty person the man in the take away was he could see what a mess and totally unconsumable it was. Would not recommend to anyone 😕 🙄

This is the 1st time we have had food here. We have had so many disappointing takeaways from other establishmnets in the past but we took a chance and ordered a takeaway because the Shagor had good reviews. From reading the menu, through pleasant and helpful phone ordering, speedy delivery, to eating the delicious food - this was the highest quality experience , with the tastiest Indian food we have had in Burnley for a long time at a really reasonable price. Cannot recommend them highly enough - fabulous food - they are outstanding. Thank you to all the team at Shagor.

Came here with friends. The dishes were delicious, some were pretty average – but I had a nice meal overall.

This place is by far the best takeaway in the area We have at least one meal a week from here for over 6 years and can honestly say we have never been disappointed. Great food, great service and fantastic staff Keep up the good work

Didn’t enjoy the food literally just tasted like it was rushed and very oily I ordered the keema biryani it was awful. The lamb off the bone starter looked stale and dry uncooked.

First of all let me add, nothing against the quality of the food. Just personal preference. Since our last order the recipe for my favourite order (Badami) seems to have changed. Unfortunately not enjoyable as it tastes so far removed from the previous flavour. All other items spot on and I would say restaurant quality as usual.

Ordered a family meal on New Year's Eve. The food came late and there was a naan bread missing from the order which we had paid for. We ate the food and my husband phoned them afterwards to complain about the missing item. The gentleman who took the call was extremely rude and simply said "its only £2.30". What an awful attitude, we work hard for our money. I will NEVER order from this place again I am appalled.

Rang them up to tell them we were missing the chicken and chips that we had ordered for my son, they told us they weren't going to deliver it as we were "too far out", we explained it was for our child and he simply just said yeah we can't bring it, we will give it you free next time.

Had takeaways from here before but the one I had this weekend was a bit average. The chilli chicken tikka stir fry lacked any real taste. If anything the chicken tasted a bit old. Might be a one off but won’t be rushing back.

So... after getting a bit ‘hangry’ because the food took longer than it normally does to arrive, the hangriness soon disappeared because the food was absolutely amazing. The lamb was cooked to perfection, the food was still hot and it was all so tasty. Absolutely worth the wait.

Fabulous food. All freshly prepared with plant of real produce. None of that weird red sauce just proper curry bursting with fresh tomatoes and peppers etc. Lovely jubbly.

Garlic naan was good and Masala was okay but everything else was shocking Chips were soggy, chicken tikka was cold and nothing tasted of anything at all Meant to be a garlic curry but had no garlic 🤔

honestly the best curry house in burnley and even out of town when I’ve had curries elsewhere this place tops them all. Unreal food every time, never ever disappointed !! The service is great every member of staff from the ones that work inside and also the take away / delivery staff! Everyone are so friendly! Could not recommend this place anymore. If I could give more stars I 100% would!!!!!! I live in Leeds and come here to visit family every few weeks and every time I’m home I always order from here!! Love this place so much

Another Fantastic meal from Shagor.. Tried a different dish tonight "Tanghile Murgh Bhaja,Hot" could taste all the different flavours from the peppers, onions, sweet tomatoes, fresh green chilies that give you heat but not over powering, chicken tika melts in your mouth, with all the other flavours from garlic and herbs. So glad i tried this dish.. If you enjoy indian food. You will not ne disappointed at "Shagor"... Their Chicken Korma is mouthwatering good. Garlic Mushroom Puri, is so tasty, the thin elastic pastry is amazing. Peri Peri Meat Chatt, melts in your mouth even though its a little dry, goes so well with a beer. Definitely ordering this again. Highly Recomend "Shagor Tandoori Takeaway"

Ordered the Rogan Josh and Balti Kharahi, delicious down to the last bite! Sweet aromatic flavours, not overpowering just a lovely balance, no scrimping on ingredients, Would recommend to anyone craving a hearty curry! Will definitly order again! Probably the best curry in Burnley!

We asked for the chicken tikka karahi to be medium Asian style which it was. Great samosas, onion bhaji and spinach baji to accompany, with special rice. Really lovely tasty food.
