I haven't had much experience with Nepalese cuisine before so was very excited to try this restaurant. For my main, I had the lamb rump with lentils. I was a bit apprehensive about this dish as I am not a huge fan of lentils whilst lamb is one of my favourite meat. I'm glad to say that the dish did not disappoint. My opinion of lentils have definitely changed for the better; it was incredibly flavourful and my only complaint is that there wasn't more of it! The lamb was, of course, beautiful - as expected. Choosing a dessert was a struggle as they all sounded so good and so different from anything I've had before. I ended up going for the dark chocolate cremeux with guava curd and sorbet which was beautiful. The sorbet was so refreshing and light, and paired perfectly with the dark chocolate cremeux which had a much richer taste. There were some crunchy pieces in there that was delicious! The ambience of the restaurant was also lovely. After having had a busy day in London in hot weather, the peaceful vibe of the restaurant was such a haven from the hustle and bustle of the city. Staff was polite and all looked gorgeous in their traditional clothes.

Hi there, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and disgust regarding my recent visit to Tampopo East Street. I had dinner at your restaurant. Neither of us eats meat—I am a pescetarian, and he is a vegan. He specifically requested the vegan menu and made it clear multiple times that he wanted the sweet potato katsu. Despite this, he was served chicken. When we pointed out the mistake, the waitress proceeded to shout at us aggressively, insisting that we had ordered chicken, which makes no sense as neither of us eats it. She continued to argue, even after we calmly stated that we were not upset—the place was loud—but simply wanted the correct dish. Her behaviour escalated—she shouted at us extensively, pointed at us, and even called the manager despite our attempts to de-escalate. Though she was eventually made to apologise, she did so while laughing behind us the entire time. For the remainder of our visit, we were met with hostility and rude looks. This entire experience was humiliating and entirely unacceptable. Given the level of hostility and the fact that my guest is a regular customer who orders the same dish every time, the only conclusion I can draw is that this treatment was racially motivated. I expect a formal response addressing this incident. If you disagree please send over a recording of the incident for me to look over formally with the appropriate so I can decide whether legal action or another sort investigation into the matter is needed. I do not take such matters lightly and a removal of the service charge is not sufficient action in respond to the matter. I am deeply disturbed by your institution and there is no excuse for such behaviour. Sincerely,

What a great restaurant. Such friendly staff and a comprehensive menu. We had lamb with spring onions and ginger, chilli chicken (lovely and spicy) and rice and noodles. The food was fantastic! The meat was really tender and the sides brilliant. There is a lovely pub, The Speaker, a couple of minutes away for an aperitif. Both the restaurant and the pub are highly recommended.

We looked forward to visiting Kolamba and thought we'd try out a lunch deal first. Visiting the Soho location, our booking hadn't gone through but the staff were very helpful and welcoming and found us a table with no fuss. We went for the lunch set menu, sharing a fish cutlet which was wonderful and a thumb- sized banana blossom patty, which we couldn't taste anything other than the pastry. The rice balls with beef jaggery and chicken curry were fine - slightly lukewarm and heavy on the rice, lighter on other ingredients. all in all very nice service and a great ambiance, but the food didn't jump out with any special flavours 9n this occasion, though. we hope to try another time.

The dish I tried was a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The tender meat was seasoned to perfection, with a subtle hint of spices that lingered pleasantly. The vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, adding a delightful crunch to the meal. The sauce tied everything together with its rich, savory depth, complemented by a touch of sweetness. Presentation-wise, it was visually appealing, with vibrant colors and thoughtful plating. While the portion size was generous, it didn’t compromise on quality. Overall, it’s a dish that satisfies both the palate and the eyes—definitely worth trying!

My nephew, niece and myself went on 2nd December on a recommendation, by a friend. I was a big fan of Montys, Northfields back in the 1980's and knew the owner/family, now the son of that family, owns Nepal. I was met by a warm welcome as we recognised each other. I can't recommend them enough. I was transported straight back to those wonderful curries we had in Montys, Northfields Avenue. Happy days! I will be back very soon. Thank you so much for that wonerful trip down memory through my taste buds, delicious Monica

Come rápido y sal.

£2 for chili potong. IYKYK. sad face. The rest is usual Malaysian restaurant in London fare, a little bit above average.
