I work in Soho Square a stones throw from this cool, friendly, good value , great food restaurant /bar.... Service is always spot on (Julia is adorable ) and the drinks and food selection varied, easy to understand and great quality and portion sizes for main plates are BIG!!!!! ..Perfect for a quick lunch , a big celebration with many or a chilled lazy catch up...I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who likes street food with a bit extra!

Went to tampopo for a friends birthday and had an amazing time! Super chill atmosphere with really tasty and affordable food! We were hosted by the amazing Sara and she genuinely made us feel so welcomed!! Genuinely had such a great experience. Thank you Sara and the amazing chefs 😆🥳

We used to come here often when we lived in London in 2022, but since it became Tampopo, I've been back twice and I've been disappointed both times. To start with the positive: the room is very pretty and the staff are very friendly. But then, the food really isn't interesting, the pad thai doesn't taste like pad thai, the curries are bland and the cocktails are too sweet. It was much better before, we won't be coming back. (Ps: if the restaurant managers see this message, please take care of your toilets, because it says a lot about the restaurant).

Tasty and creative Asian fusion with great service (thanks Sara!). Beef rendang roti was delicious and loved the honey chicken bubble waffle. All really reasonably priced

Amazing experience, amazing food, amazing service. Highly recommend this place! We were served by Andrea who was amazing and ensured we had everything we needed. My partner and i got: Szechuan squid to share, this was delicious. Not dry and not too oily. Enough batter to add taste while not so thick that it didn't taste of squid anymore. I had the Katsu Udon Soup, which was just amazing. It is now tied as my favourite Katsu curry dish, which is an impressive feat as my favourite has stood strong for years. My partner had a Buddha Bowl, which was also delicious, it was airy yet had many flavours coming together to compliment each other. I also had loose leaf green tea, which was delicious too. Service was really fast, i like that we got the small plate slightly before large plates to dig into our starter but that we could finish it alongside our main meals. Highly recommend this place!

Honestly one of the best for atmosphere and our waitress Julia made the experience 10 times better. Helped us with everything, consistently checked on us and various tables and didn’t ever drop her smile.

The food was ok, but why did they give me such a big caramelised onion, how much can I eat when I'm out with my friends. The plate looks good in the picture. I went the 2nd time with my friends and again I ordered a "big bowl" of food and instead I received something on the bottom. Tasty but I stood up and I was still hungry. Different from other restaurants where I ordered just a main and a side.

The place is such a vibe for either a full sit down meal or drinks and some sharing plates. Food was so well executed and had beautiful presentation. The venue has very cool decor and is very lively. Would definitely recommend!

My happy place in London. Never extremely full, very friendly service (specially Frankie!) and amazing food, with a twist but keeping the original glare! And they always have a Gibli movie on! What else can you ask for? ^^

This restaurant had a lovely, warm atmosphere, and the staff greeted us with genuine smiles. The food was absolutely delicious! The satay chicken was perfectly grilled and served with a rich, flavorful peanut sauce. The beef rendang was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the pad Thai had a wonderful balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. The cocktails were expertly crafted; the Singapore Sling was perfectly balanced, and the Thai Coconut Punch was refreshingly tropical. Special mention to the barman for his skill! The happy hour was an added bonus. We will definitely be back!

Good atmosphere and well decorated space. Our server Aish was really friendly and helpful. Thai red rump steak was incredibly flavourful, as was the Yamato fillet steak. Took the rest away as portions were generous, so price was reasonable. Will definitely be coming back.

We had such a lovely birthday lunch at the Fitzrovia restaurant, the food was amazing and super fresh, plus the staff were all so helpful and friendly and really went above and beyond to make our visit special! Will definitely be back!

We come to Tampopo whenever we are in Oxford Circus and it is always remarkable! The service is always fantastic but in particular our server Sara was lovely! Very polite and helpful and checked in with us to ensure everything was okay! Would recommend a trip to Tampopo.

Very good cuisine, varied choices inspired by Asian countries (Chinese, Thailand, Korea, etc.) A little expensive in terms of price but the dishes are excellent. The service is fast and the atmosphere of the room is reminiscent of restaurants in Thailand. Alcohol-free cocktails are delicious.

Julia and Sara treated us wonderfully, the food was very delicious and a different and pleasant atmosphere and decoration!

I enjoyed the food here. Service was amazing, so attentive, specially with our 20 month old , she listened and made sure food is according to what we wanted. All was good. My udon noodle was delicious. They charged 10.75 pound over my 86 pound bill as service charge, automatically. I didnt like it. They came with bill charged already. But i didnt argue as i was happy with food and service. Yet i dont like automatic service charge.

We ate fantastic pad thais wrapped in an omelette — one of the best I’ve had in the UK. This was recommended by our excellent waitress Sara, who was friendly, speedy, and gave fantastic advice when asked about different dishes. All round 10/10 experience.

Great and affordable restaurant in the center of London. The food was very tasty. There is a lot of choice!! The best part is the atmosphere and service if I have to be honest. These complete it completely. We were helped by several employees and they were all very spontaneously helpful and nice. Employee Julia was very helpful with an explanation of the different dishes they had on the menu. Julia had a lot of knowledge about the dishes on the menu and was therefore able to help us very well in making a choice. Both with the food and with the drinks (cocktails). Thank you Julia for the atmosphere and experience you gave us today.

A corporate dining experience. The decor and atmosphere here is fantastic, very instagram-able! However, what they have invested in decor has clearly shown a drop in the food. The menu is not ideal for sharing, the items are designed as “I will get my own starter and main”. Furthermore, the quality and taste of the food was very average. Each item we ordered was sweet with little spice or the complex flavours valued from East Asian food. The sharing platter seemed good value but was uninspiring, the Katsu was cold and doesn’t come with rice, the Korean popcorn chicken was bland, the pad thai was flat in flavour. I don’t wish to be this critical but it under delivered. The menu feels very corporate, easy decision options that don’t go over the top with flavour or spice. A shame really as the restaurant looked so good.

Came here on a Saturday night in January for a joint birthday dinner. Food was good, service was minimal and very slow; we had to call the waitresses over every time we wanted to order anything or clear the tables, so felt quite neglected.

Pros - the spring rolls, bang bang prawns and lychee cocktails were really tasty and fresh. The food came out hot and in a timely manner considering our party size. The lychee cocktail was very nice and had a subtly sweet flavour to it. I loved the decor inside the restaurant too. Very street market like with all the overhead market store signs, low lighting and cosy seating arrangement. It’s also reasonably priced for what it is. The staff were really friendly and helpful too Cons - the popcorn chicken didn’t really taste of anything. There was a small amount of sauce on top which also didn’t add much flavour either. My friend had the Thai green curry which was also lacking flavour when I tried it. Wasn’t very nice and the chicken tasted like it maybe have been from frozen.

We are here on a Saturday evening. The food was great and the restaurant was unexpectedly nice, we had reasonably low expectations going in given the location and type of venue. Plenty of diversity in the menu and both good alcohol and non alcoholic options. What really made the experience was the service. Our server was a person called Julia and I don't think we've ever experienced such fantastic service. She was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable without being overbearing. We eat out regularly in many areas of London and other cities and we are used to the level of service expected in central London locations and this was leagues ahead of anywhere I can remember.

Extremely cool Asian place that serves great food. We had the Nasi Goreng Royal (which was excellent🤤) and the green curry (which did not really have a lot inside besides chicken and one sort of veggie 🫤) Also for the sizes of the „large“ plates the prices were a bit high

I had beef rendang and laksa. The food was delicious , totally recommend it

Ordered the fillet steak starter, it was meant to be cold apparently but came out literally frozen. Sent it back and they put it into the microwave for 30 seconds so the edges of the steak were warm but the middle was still frozen, whilst the cold dressing on top also got zapped. The main wasn’t much better with a disgusting grey boiled egg. I have absolutely no idea how this place is so well rated, genuinely the worst meal in a restaurant I’ve ever had.

Yummy food although a but westernised. Sadly they dare ask for a tip after adding service charge in the bill and then charge £0.99 to actually pay. Pathetic.

Came here for weekday lunch and we were the first ones to arrive however they were understaffed so food took awhile to arrive. Food was east Asian - typically the variety in offerings means there’s less refinement in the food. The green curry has a rough texture to the broth and was over salty, the combo platter was too oily. Great for group dinners and vibes but food was ok

The atmosphere and vibe of this place was amazing, I loved the interior and there was even howls castle being projected on a wall. Service as nice and really welcoming they left me and my partner to settle down and talk before being called to order. We ordered the Fukuoka tonkotsu ramen and the Yamato fillet steak (I kinda forgot what we ordered but these seem accurate 😅). Our order came quickly and was very nice!.

Great service by the waitress, she explained everything about the menu clearly. I have been here before but the menu has changed slightly food was good. The chicken satay was good, there were 4 sticks. My noodles were nice but the meat was a little Luke warm so I mentioned this to the waitress and she kindly immediately got me a new plate of food. The atmosphere is really nice as the decor is quite authentic. My husband ordered the steak and egg dish. The portion of avocado in the dish was quite small, and the beef was ok from inside, but the edges were quite dry. I am sure if we said something, they would have re made the dish quite happily. Overall good.

We celebrated my birthday at your restaurant on December 29th and had a fantastic experience thanks to Julia's outstanding service. She was incredibly attentive to our son, making him feel comfortable and welcome throughout the meal. It's rare for him to finish his food when we dine out, but he devoured his meal, a testament to how well Julia engaged with him. The food was also absolutely brilliant, exceeding our expectations. Julia's friendly and professional demeanour made our dining experience truly memorable. She is a true asset to your company.

Quick and friendly service - Beef Rendang and Pak Choi were both underwhelming in terms of flavour but ok. Sambal Egg was cold and tasted of absolutely nothing. I expected much better for the price and location but it wasn’t offensive either.

Great little restaurant, food was tasty and reasonably priced. Julia, our waitress was really friendly and offered advice on the menu. She really engaged with our children even down to giving them book recommendations when she saw them reading! Overall a great experience and the service would make us recommend this place to other families.

Service was really good and you are welcomed with a smile as soon as your enter the restaurant. Unfortunately the chicken satay was very lacklustre. Far, far too gingery and lacked flavour. Quite dry as well. If you want good Satay then go around the corner to Laksa mania. As for the Pad Krapow Khai, flavours were ok but FAR too salty. Overall, wouldn't recommend

Great place in Central London. Delicious beer and very nice service. My wife and I were on a trip to London and we will remember this PUB. First of all, thanks to the lovely Juli who entertained us with a wonderful conversation in her native language. I hope that we will see each other again, this time on Polish soil - we invite you. Awesome place reasonably priced considering where you are with a great atmosphere

New Year’s Eve, a reservation made 2 weeks beforehand and we have to arrive in person to find out that they close at 9 pm, when our reservation was for 9.30 pm. No solutions were given, simply an apology. They said that they tried to contact us multiple times, when in fact they only tried it once, but the cancellation mail did arrive immediately after communicating to the hostess the situation of our reservation (the reservation was confirmed via email that same morning). She even said that they had been closing at 9 pm for the whole year, yet the restaurant accepts reservations after that time and on google it says it stays open till 1 am. Deeply disappointed and now fumbling to find somewhere to have dinner at New Year’s Eve.
