£2 for chili potong. IYKYK. sad face. The rest is usual Malaysian restaurant in London fare, a little bit above average.

We visited for dinner on a Saturday. Even at the early hour of 6:30pm, the place was really busy. The venue does make an impression when you enter, with its quirky decor which in the area around our table included a wall of superhero pictures and memorabilia, a massive Malaysian flag, and sections of wall filled with scribblings and comments left by prior customers. Adding to this the fact that most other guests as well as all staff were from the Far East, it really felt like we had been transported to Malaysia! The menu is quite confusing and seemed to include a lot of complete meals, for example the curries come with a portion of rice and salad, there was no option to order the curries separately. Our family of 2 adults and 2 young kids ordered the chicken satay, grilled squid, roti canai with fried chicken, a nasi lemak, beef rendang, and a laksa. This was quite a lot of food and we packed some to take home. The food was generally quite good, and it felt authentic. There were a couple of standout dishes, these being the roti and fried chicken (which came with a very tasty curry sauce), as well as the beef rendang which was beautifully tender and probably the best version I have tried in a long while. Service was friendly and quite speedy, which is our preference. Although not publicised online, note that they do serve a selection of wines as well as Asahi beer. The bill for our meal came to a very reasonable £137, of which £30 was spent on drinks. Overall a solid 4 star rating on food, uplifted to 5 stars by the somewhat unique atmosphere and good value for money.

On entering the restaurant, the sambal aroma was very overwhelming. It was a late Spring afternoon and the restaurant felt very stuffy with little ventilation at all. It was a congested place with minimal place to manoeuvre. The ceiling was very low as well. The food was not the best. Curry puff with cold filings. The stingray ordered was overly spicy and I was sweating buckets in this less than ideal environment. The dish comes with a salted egg which I chose to omit. I politely told the staff in Mandarin my request but I noticed she was visibly annoyed with me for speaking Mandarin. She was literally frowning and pretended not to understand me. I had to repeat my request in English. Very typical West Malaysian people who love to behave like they're from Hong Kong, I think.

Ein fantastisches Erlebnis für die ganze Familie. Tolles Essen, rührende Inhaber und das Ice Kacang Atac war das absolute Highlight zum Abschluss! Eine unbedingte Empfehlung :)

As we were strolling about, we spotted Med Salleh Malaysian Kopitiam. The menu displayed at the entrance looked really comforting as it reminded us of home, thus we went in for lunch. It was quite full with diners but the staff is efficient to welcome us in, no waiting time needed. He lead us in to a nice cosy corner. The atmosphere is pleasant with nice cool ambience. For starter, we chose the Rojak , it is Malaysian fruit salad mixed with rojak sauce with peanuts. Drink is Teh Tarik. As for our main dish, we settled for Curry laksa noodles, Ali Kampung fried rice & Beef rendang rice. Each dish is not only well presented , it is delicious with flavour spot on !!!! Lastly we go for the chendol as our dessert !! The lunch here was great especially after 10 days having Turkish..we do miss our home food. Med Salleh Kopitiam’s Malaysian Hospitality with its attentiveness in services and food certainly make us feel very at home . High recommended !!!

Unfortunately, this restaurant is closed. We tried to visit this restaurant during our holidays in London (September 10th) and the local seemed to be closed from several months before.

We really loved our visit to Lahpet on a sunny Sunday lunchtime, seated outside on the terrace. It felt a bit like being on holiday. Service from our young waitress was really sweet and attentive. The crispy fried bream dish is a taste sensation and is really popular judging by the number of plates going past. The aubergine with crispy onion and peanuts is also a winner. We will definitely return as we discovered we really enjoy the flavour profile of Burmese food.
