The best restaurants serving Asian food in Colchester East of England

Have discovered this recently, highly recommended, the food is so authentic and fresh, and fantastic value - absolutely top quality street food - every Wednesday and Friday on Culver Street market, look forward to returning regularly for a Friday lunchtime treat.

This place is very good. Been here 3 times so far and always had a great experience. Come from the other side of town just to collect it. Great food, service and good value.

Visited with two friends on a Thursday evening. This was my first time eating at Bambu. The restaurant is very pretty. We were made to feel very welcome. We were very slow in choosing our food but the waiters were patient with us. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I hope to be able to return soon. Thank you.

Great food, best onion bahjees in town!

First meal we had here was amazing! And very, very reasonably priced. Second time, still good food but the price had gone up a lot! £50 plus drinks for the two of us. So although I recommend it, beware it is not a cheap night out anymore.

We only ever go to the Raj (for past seven years). Tonight was the first not so great meal we’ve had. The Peshawari naan came up burnt, first time. We sent it back and second time (half way through the meal) it was the same, so we gave it a miss. The chapatis weren’t up to their usually standard. The chicken was chewy. We’ve never ever had a bad meal here. I said to the waiter (who was quite disinterested) do you have a new chef. He said yes, but I’m not entirely sure he understood what we were saying. So sad given we’ve been coming for many years. On the way out, we didn’t even get an apology for the waiter. One more try I think. If it’s not good, we won’t return.

Terrible portion sizes for the amount it costs & items were missing!

Had a nice meal with friends. Very enjoyable. Food and service were good as was the decor. However, the table was a bit small. Would definitely go again.

I’ve always thought I’m not a huge fan of Chinese but turns out I’ve just been going to the wrong places. Fai’s was delicious. Rice portion was v. generous. Crispy sticky chicken and black bean beef were great. Prompt delivery.

Very good service, attentive staff especially Rock the bartender very friendly and helpful with our drinks,welcoming atmosphere. Food was well presented and delicious many flavours and easily to choose from menu. Would definitely recommend to anyone new in the area

Delivery time changed several times after ordering. Noodles luke warm and greasy, very little meat
