Noodle bar in Colchester

One of the best restaurant serving Asian inspired food around. I live over an hour away but always try and make it down when I'm in town

Food was good. Found some of the sauces were a lil too sweet but the staff was great.. it's really a great place. Food comes out real quick too

We found the service to be attentive. All the food was pleasant, however, nothing was anything more than a good Chinese takeaway. Perhaps, we had set our expectations too high.

I went to the restaurant with my friend for the first time and it was very nice, the Mexican waitress was very friendly and she recommended us the starters, the main courses and we even finished with chocolate brownies. All the food was delicious and the service was very good.

Ordered sweet and sour chicken take away. Got home to find the egg fried rice that should have accompanied it was plain rice. Disappointing

We had been recommended this place by a friend. We had to book at got a slot at 5pm. It was already very busy. We both had rice based dishes, one beef and one pork. Both were delicious. The service was superb. I thought it would be like Wagamama (which I love) as it has a similar menu. Indeed it was but on steroids

As always dishes spot on. Unusually are in the restaurant and was surprised the mains for 3 of arrived over a 5-10 minute spaced period slightly soured taste, metaphorically remembering.

Had a wonderful birthday meal here for my wife. She is visually impaired, and they were really helpful, making sure the table was in a good location for her, and adjusted the lighting after seeing it was causing her a problem, without even being asked. Great attentive service, fabulous food, especially the special, and reasonable prices. All in all a great experience, thank you!

Family outing, start with the positives, really nice atmosphere and decor with friendly staff/management. Food however was slightly disappointing, I had the wings and chicken satay chicken sticks for starters. No flavour and chicken tasted cheap. I had the prawn Pad Thai for a main which was a good portion however again not much excitement for the taste buds! Would recommend for a dating experience maybe as gave that vibe but was not somewhere I would go again.

With a group of seven, we were catered for well, by polite and helpful colleagues. All of our dishes were just right, no issues at all. Another quality visit!

While the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, the food is flavorless, not made to order and simply reheated.

If you have ever eaten Asian food - don’t eat here. Average to the tenth power. Egg fried rice that was just boiled rice with egg stirred into it. Waiters that literally plonk the plates on the table. Food was fine to eat when you are hungry and the restaurant is clean and pretty - but if you are looking for a gastronomic experience, don’t come here.

Simply excellent. Best Asian Fusion food I have had in a very long time. Staff were polite and welcoming and the owner was more than happy to chat. If you fancy a particular dish but you want Udon noodles instead of flat they are more than happy to oblige. I would recommend this Restraunt to anyone who wants superb food at a reasonable price. 10/10

We was very impressed coming here for the first time. The decor is beautiful. Nice and spacious amongst tables. Lovely staff just not clear communication between them all as some tables got things twice but I think one member was new so others where trying to help. We was also sat next to a very noisey family as a couple when there was other tables available so that was a shame but the food was so fast coming out so that's great and very tasty. The veggie curry could do with more sweet potato as I only had three pieces and they were yummy. The rice could do with some more flavour or salt but I understand that it might not be good for children or some that like it plain but some more taste and flavour maybe better. My husband had a noodle dish and it had a yummy flavour. I was also sad you don't do vegetarian bao buns.

Went in Saturday night for a meal. I definitely recommend ringing and booking a table very busy 👌 had a nice table in the new part of the restaurant .Great atmosphere and service impeccable spicy prawn crackers to start delicious with a oint of brooklyn ipa .then pork dumplings so delicious and spicy squid. Then mains king prawn pad thai and yakiniku donburi with another brooklyn to wash it down with .another great meal in Colchester .Will definitely be back great service all round noodle bar 👍

By far the best restaurant in Colchester always top quality and such a beautiful decor.

My wife and I like most have been coming here for nearly 15 years, we used them during the pandemic and have always supported them. However the last two times we have visited the food has been sub par and the service has been terrible. My wife then visited this evening with a friend and was subjected to an awful experience by the owner. My wife, who is 17 weeks pregnant, asked for alcohol free rose lemonade with her food, and clarified twice that’s what she wanted with the lady serving her, but was served alcohol. As you can imagine, drinking it and then being told it was alcoholic when the bill came was quite a shock and upsetting. She asked to speak to the owner who then reacted in an incredibly petty, condescending way, saying my wife was at fault for not checking her drink was alcoholic, even though she checked multiple times. He put the blame on her for not knowing the difference and shunned her out the door once she paid her bill. My wife left distraught. We will not return to this place again, and I hope the owner reads this and is ashamed of the way he handled the situation.

After a good session in Aqua Springs I always go here. Unlike some restaurants you can try most of the menu and be happy. The staff and atmosphere are welcoming too. Spicy Squid!!!!

Wow! What a find. The best chicken laksa I’ve ever had. Full of flavour, absolutely delicious. Want to go back already! My husbands food was also excellent. Noodles & Bao bun. 5 star overall

We ordered for a birthday dinner as all previous food has been great However the food when arrived was cold and noticed a reduction in meat/prawn content since our last meal. Reported this to Uber and was given a measly £1.29 to spend on another delivery. Poor response!!

Singapore (Xingzhou Fried Rice) is great!

Noodle Bar is, without a doubt, the best in Colchester. Ting and Chris, the owners, are always welcoming and make sure you feel right at home every time you visit. The staff are friendly, happy, and always deliver amazing service it’s clear they love what they do. The food is always amazing . Everything is fresh, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Ting and Chris never cut corners or compromise on quality, and it really shows.

This food is incredible, they made me a chicken pad thai to take out and it was lovely!

The food was really nice although I asked for chilli paste (which is the best Iv ever had) and I didn’t get it. For me the meal was ruined due to an error in the kitchen and not having the chilli paste to go with my dinner. Everything else was fine.

This is the go to resturant for our family for special occasions. Bit expensive but worth every penny, The staff are lovely. The atmosphere is great and overall it's very clean. as well as the food being amazing no matter what. Starters to the mains to the deserts. could not reccomend more.

This is one of our favourite places to eat in Colchester. There's always a table available and we're served quickly by the friendly staff. Our food is always delicious and again arrives very soon after ordering.

Easily the best place to get noodles in Colchester. Service was amazing, quick and friendly. The atmosphere is modern, clean and even though it was busy you felt like you have you're own space without being right up against the next table. Most importantly the food is incredible! Excellent as always. Didn't make a reservation on and hoped the owner would be able to squeeze us in, and he did what he could to get us a table for 2! All food was incredible, hot, made to order and suitable for those with different dietary needs. Will always recommend here!!

The Noodle Bar is a firm favourite when out for lunch, with a fantastic selection of food for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. The food is piping hot and made with the freshest ingredients. More often than not, we take children along (Under 10's) with us and can say the chef's are always accommodating on fussy little eaters. Reasonably priced with a relaxing atmosphere. I always recommend this restaurant to friends and family when asking for a place to eat.

I ordered a Chinese from here today and I am unbelievably disappointed. I ordered at 6.29 and it said that delivery would be 8.20 (Deliveroo) now, that’s a very long wait but it’s fine, I can live with that. I only ordered some prawn ms and and a chow mein so should be cooked very quickly but I expect that they were busy. 8.20 comes and goes and nothing. I called at 8.30 and they said that the food was now out for delivery. I live a 7 minute drive away and at 8.45, nothing. At 8.50, nothings my food eventually arrived at 9pm. 2 hours and 40 for chow main and some prawns is so poor. Unbelievably bad customer service. The food was ok but they really need to up their game

Superb customer service and delicious food. Perfect wait time. I left my bag in the restaurant and the waiter ran down the hill to return it to me, most grateful especially as I had mobility issues.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday with absolute perfection. The atmosphere was cozy and warm, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the food arrived promptly and at the perfect temperature.

We ordered on uber eats. The food was cold and no where near worth the £42 we paid. The prawns were dry and chewy, the spare ribs were just sticky and cold, the squid was only edible with the chilli sauce and the noodles were bland. 1 main course and starters. Won't be going back, totally overpriced.

I recently visited North Hill Noodle Bar in Colchester, and overall, it was a great experience. The atmosphere is casual yet trendy, with a cosy vibe that makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. I particularly enjoyed the North Hill noodles. Portions are generous, making it great value for money. The service was friendly and efficient, even during a busy lunch. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that the seating can feel a bit cramped when it's crowded.

This is a great restaurant. The food was delicious. The decor was contemporary. The waiting staff all charming. I felt this was a 'Tardis' restaurant so much bigger on the inside than it looks!

My wife and I had a fantastic evening at the Noodle Bar, savoring every moment without feeling rushed. We indulged in a variety of dishes, starting with dumplings, spicy squid, and edamame beans. For the mains, I enjoyed the king prawn pad thai, while my partner opted for the seafood special. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was lively and vibrant, with everyone clearly enjoying themselves. It was an unforgettable night of great food and great company.

We got the Chicken Laksa and the Beef Pho they were phenomenal. Great flavor and big portions. Staff is super helpful and friendly.

Don't often visit Colchester so I don't know anything about where to eat there. Took a punt on North Hill Noodle Bar and really lucked out. The food was delicious, came out quickly and was nice and hot. Friendly staff and nice place. Easy to book a table on the website. Decent menu although there are only a few options if you're veggie. Definitely give it a look if you're in Colchester.

Very good place to eat, service, environment, staff, and food were very very good. Although it was busy you still felt your table/area was not encrouched on and intimate, so laid out very expertly. No kids menu, so with two 8 year olds we were a bit anxious at first, but the staff helped select meals that weren't too spicy and fortunately they ate so much and tried and loved new things, even the spicy dishes we had, so we had a great time. All the food was of a high standard, as this is our families favorite cuisine I would say we have well calibrated palettes to judge so I would recommend this restaurant. We hadn't booked so may be worth checking if it's best to book, we may have been lucky. We didnt have desserts here so cannot comment on them, but I'll bet they are nice.

Never been back since they refurbed and tonight I ordered what I normally have before which is CHAR KWAYTEOW my favourite and what came to me is pad thai noodles! So disappointed.. KWAYTEOW noodles should be wider-thicker noodles! you used to sell them before refurbed and it has always been my favourites close to authentic char kwayteow taste! but what it came to me was PAD THAI NOODLES (smaller noodles) instead of KWAYTEOW! we will never go back to you anymore for sure. It used to be my best restaurant but not anymore after the return unfortunately.

Never been back since they refurb and tonight I ordered what I normally have before which is CHAR KWAYTEOW and what came to me is pad thai noodles! So disappointed.. Only found this place on our last night staying locally, glad we did. Only 2 of us, but both our dishes (Kung Po Chicken and Veg Rendang) were superb, as were the deserts. All staff were friendly and polite, would highly recommend.

The North Hill Noodle Bar was recently extended and modernised since when we have heard nothing but rave reviews so thought we had to give it a go. We went for a late lunch on a Friday and the place was almost packed, while the food was fresh and rocked with flavour. I had spicy ribs and followed up with Kung Pao chicken (extra chilli), while other dishes which went down extremely well included hot and spicy squid, edemame beans, and Thai green curry chicken). We loved it - if there was a criticism it's that the service was slightly over-zealous - and are already looking at our diaries to see when we can next go.

Best meal I’ve had in ages - pad Thai was out of this world, came quick and was hot. Staff friendly too. Nice atmosphere

Always a firm favourite of mine. I eat here numerous times a month and it’s always excellent. We’re both vegan, and while there’s only a few official vegan options they can make the Singapore noodles vegan, as well as the chicken laksa by swapping out the chicken and the egg noodles for alternatives. Absolutely banging.

A great meal as always! This is one of the best places to eat in Colchester. We have always had a fantastic meal and this time was no different. Post expansion the quality of food has not changed. We generally go for lunch and the experience is always pleasant. Please bring back the Vietnamese spring rolls!

Best Laska I've ever had was to die for ingredients were fresh and soo tasty, portion size was generous and a side of veg spring rolls cooked to perfection would 100% recommend

The Singapore Noodles was good but less meat it had just tiny pieces of meat and small prawns... However it was very flavoured noodles. The atmosphere was not what I expected quite loud as I had to raise my voice to chat with other people as was fully booked and everyone has talked around. I will definitely going back .
