The best restaurants serving American food in Bristol, City of South West

Firstly can I say that I was really excited about this venue opening and I really want it to succeed. We went to one of the “soft” opening nights which had a number of glitches including a wait of over 2 hours for food but we put it down to teething problems and assumed there would be improvement. We wanted to return but none of the performers appealed until we saw that James Morton was appearing on Saturday evening. We arrived at 7.30 it was then a 20 minute wait until a waitress appeared, we ordered drinks which arrived and then we ordered food and water, the starter came reasonably promptly but the water never appeared. When the starter plate was collected we ordered more drinks, a gin and a GLASS of wine, a few minutes later a BOTTLE of wine was brought to the table and no gin, we decided to keep the bottle of wine but had to remind a different server about the gin. Meanwhile the excellent James Morton had completed his first set of the evening. Then the original server asked us if we had our starters which had arrived and been eaten, at this point alarm bells were seriously ringing. 2 tables who arrived much later than us received their mains at that point we felt we had to ask if ours would be much longer, (along with a few other nearby tables) we were told that they would check but no one got back to us but they arrived at 9.40, 2 hours and 10 minutes after arrival. So, basically nothing had improved since the “soft” opening a few months ago, the attention to detail from the waiting staff is very poor, the food is ok, but expensive, wife’s chicken was overcooked. So after a quite eventful evening the icing on the cake was about to unfold. James Morton had just started his second set when an altercation between him and the security guy led to James refusing to play on, a situation that could and should have been handled better and could have been easily avoided. Apologies for the lengthy review but hopefully you’ll agree that a lot happened on our visit. Message to the owners, improvements need implementing rapidly.

Nice bar with good live music and cheap drinks. The only downside - at least if you're over the age of 21 - is that it's a student hangout, so it's very crowded and shouty on Friday and Saturday nights. YMMV.

We went here for Valentine’s Day and had a set menu. The food and wine were delicious, I couldn’t fault anything. Our waitress Ana was so friendly and attentive. We had a really good time, highly recommend. We’ll be back very soon :)

Great spot for a premium processed sausage. I had the Yellow Dog Red Dog hot dog with fries. It was more or less a very premium processed sausage with lots of toppings in a soft bun. There was a hint of meaty flavour that was a little overpowered by the toppings. The crunchy onions texture added to every mouthful. Similarly, the bun had a soft but not too chewy texture and a light taste that didn’t interrupt the main parts of the dish. The mustard and ketchup were not overpowering, nor the pickles. The fries were particularly crispy in places and fluffy soft in others. It did feel like I was shovelling them into my mouth at times as the potatoey pieces were quite small. The location was great but with limited seating. I would recommend a visit, possibly to share fries between two.

Food is well over priced 40 pound on 2 small burgers and 1 fries and 2 drinks burger king is alot better

Personal muy paciente 🙂 Me tomó años decidir qué tener! Terminó con jugosas alitas de pollo de salsa barbacoa y una pizza mediana, que en realidad es grande en comparación con la mayoría de los otros lugares, pepperoni, pimientos maíz dulce y hongos. La salsa es preciosa y rica 🙂 La masa es deliciosa! Crujiente y esponjoso por dentro. Yum y muchas gracias 🙂

Place is a disgrace says 2 for one drinks and then when you order nothings actually 2 for 1 and it's £7 for a bottle of Corona and you only get one rip off

Looks like the business has been bought out and the masked women that serves her English is not good, so understanding her under her mask was very difficult. The choice was limited and over all, it was very poor quality! Maybe they are in the business to charge high to cream off the students in the area? I will never buy from there again. So sad as it was a good burger bar.

Atención al cliente impactante. Fue por una hamburguesa con papas fritas al final de una noche. Estaba cansado y hambriento. Preguntado en el escritorio cuánto tiempo sería - 10 / 15 minutos fue la respuesta. Bueno, pensé en esperar. Luego viene un pedido masivo de Deliveroo para 30 comidas y me quedo colgado. Volvió al escritorio 30 minutos después y pidió un reembolso. Vamos chicos, pueden hacerlo mejor y aplicar un poco de sentido común - si tienen una comida que hacer, ¿seguro que pueden manejar eso? Respuesta grosera cuando pregunté cortésmente si era posible. 'Oh, pero tenemos que procesar las órdenes a medida que llegan' - a pesar de la orden de grupo que viene después de la mía. Un montón de tw*ts. No regresará y aconsejará a otros que consideren otras opciones cercanas.

Very slow service, and un-enthusiastic staff. Waited 10 minutes at the door for someone to come and check-us in, and then waited 40 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. Waitress didn't know what types of gin were available stating 'I'm not gonna lie I have no idea what we have'. Will not be rushing back.

Tuve una entrega a través de una empresa de mensajería local. Teníamos las hamburguesas con papas fritas doblemente rotas. La hamburguesa era excelente! Podría haber hecho con un poco de salsa extra y solo había una rodaja de gerkin que le di a mi marido de todos modos, ya que no me gustan! ¡Pero las hamburguesas destrozadas eran aplastantes! Chiro eran lo suficientemente decentes. Normalmente como y como su hamburguesa de queso estándar, pero no creo que vaya a volver a eso ahora! La comida podría haber estado más caliente, pero esa es la empresa de entregas no GBK.

Ordered in person, was great food!! Portion sizes were spot on for me! I don’t understand the slander people are giving to them in the reviews I’d say they are a great small business and it would be about the same as you would get a meal at kfc except fresher and tastier 😌 will be back again with a tip

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE WOMAN!!! Shop was is closing so parked outside the shop (to avoid running a lady and her pram over) to run in the shop next door, the owner of the shop came bursting in to literally scream at me!!! I'm a mother myself and having a bad day I'm sleep deprived and depressed and to have her in my face like that was absolutely disgusting!! I went back into the shop to say I don't like the way she has just spoken to me and she persistened to speak to me like I was somthing off the bottom of her shoe. I've come home a crying mess all because she has absolutely no manners or respect to people who she speaks too. My husband ate here a lot and I tell you now, she's lost our custome and anyone else I know who eats there. OK she didn't want me to park outside her shop, but there's a nicer way to ask people to politely move a car. She screamed and swore at me. Unbelievable behaviour of a woman her age. Get yourself some self respect and maybe the next time you scream and shout at people maybe just think of there mental health. The gent in the shop I went into went on to tell me she does this a lot. And people park outside his shop a lot and go in either shops next door to him and he's cool with it. She doesn't own the pavement!
