Had a vegan dinner at Maddison this evening and was quite disappointed. The service was lovely and we were very well taken care of. We ordered off the vegan menu and the food came quickly however the portions were small for the price point and were very sad that the chips were oven chips not triple cooked as stated on menu. + Music was lovely

Firstly the restaurant isn't even named correctly as its situated in a differently named pub? The roof had a leak and the background atmospheric music is from the local radio station. As for the food, the pasta was overcooked, the lamb was burnt and the pizza was of the quality of a cheap frozen supermarket variety. Seriously overpriced for the quality of food.

Thoroughly enjoyed our recent visits to The Ship Aground whilst staying in our bungalow in the area. As always, we received a warm welcome from Julian, Alison, the rest of the team and the locals, with the beer to its' usual high standard. The place was buzzing on the occasions we visited and I only wish that this pub was in Cardiff!! Looking forward to our next visit.

This was one of the best Inns in this area and used by many locals and tourists who all had great service and food both at lunch times and evenings. We are local and are now finding our way around other local places to eat. Try The Tram Inn Eardisley which is our choice to date. Also Black Mountain lodge at Glasbury is a good Sunday Lunch. Avoid Hay-on-Wye, all too expensive and not very exiting.

Found this cafe on line, glad we did, the guys were so welcoming, even the dog was welcomed in. We both had the big cooked breakfast, wow, it’s not very often I actually enjoy a cooked breakfast but this was amazing, really good quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We’d happily go back.
