The food here is lovely. I've been here several times, However I was put off by my recent visit when I witnessed the owner refused to serve a man a piece of cheesecake telling him they were for lunches. If it's on display and a customer wants to buy it then what's the problem. I find that an odd way to do business. If it's on display it should be available to anyone who wants it.

We arrived after a long drive as we’ were meeting our elderly family on entering we were met rather aggressively by the female owner who immediately saw us and spoke to us like we were something that needed scraping off from under her boot her words astounded me and took me aback somewhat as she abruptly told us that there were no tables and they didn’t have this and that to in terms of food . She was so RUDE .. All we wanted was a cuppa and a cake until family arrived , I politely said no matter and that were are only here for a meeting our family a cuppa and a cake and we would find a table ,. She then then stormed off and I ignored her rudeness not let it bother me or let it upset my wife . I proceeded to speak with my wife and after a few minute my wife went to look for a table and I went over to order . But again she was there in our faces she aggressively said WHAT do you want I politely said well how about a smile to start with just break up the bad attitude and scowl on her face she replied NO I said really ? She yes NO and scowled back at me and said again aggressive what do you want ? I was so taken back by her disgusting behaviour towards us as customers that I replied actually nothing at all tuned and left the premises to find a much better place to have our meeting and meal . We did not let it ruin our day and ended up having a wonderful one however WE WILL NEVER EVER go back a truly disgusting attitude and behaviour which let the whole place down . Felt in our hearts on leaving that her behaviour reflects that she does not like the English . We are sure to let all know what a disappointment this place is really . Avoid is an understatement.

This Welsh cafe is on the A5 near Betsw-y-Coed and is situated next to a fishing pond in a peaceful, country area. It has parking at the door, and sells freshly made, very tasty food. The staff are pleasant, the toilets are clean, and access in/out is easy. The sign isn't obvious from a distance, so be on the lookout as you go along.

This is a hidden gem. Situated half way between Betyws Y Coed and Llangollen on the A5, it is easily accessible via a ramp and has great food.We had the snack menu with generous fillings of Baked Potato's or sandwiches, coffees with a kick in large and well filled cups. The cakes for once taste as good as they look ans a milk shake that I remember from my child hood in the late 50's and early 60's. There's even a little shop full of "stuff" And when you consider prices you pay significantly less than at overpriced seaside establishments and get tastier food.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday drive. NO MENU provided, but a large selection of Cakes on the counter. The menu board had nothing written on it except drinks, so no idea if any other food items available. Chose tea / coffee with 2 cakes - these were brough to us as we were sitting outside. The place was very busy with families and lots of motorcyclists, but the atmosphere was positive. Staff friendly, but very busy serving inside & outside. £12 for 2 drinks & 2 cakes quite expensive, but quality was good. The grounds were lovely, there is a small "garden centre" on the side selling very expensive plants. Also a very well stocked gift shop with some lovely items for gifts / souvenirs.

Can see what other people’s reviews mean regarding the customer service. One lady was lovely but the other was very sharp with us. Food was good but definitely not worth the price. Lovely lodge but windows and tables need a deep clean. Could be 5 star but not sure they really want holiday makers in, but saying that one of the ladies was lovely.

Unpleasant customer service. Scowled at for sitting somewhere other than where directed despite only 3 people seated. Offer of vegetarian bap but you can’t have it as a vegetarian breakfast as they are a farming community. However they agreed to do it even though i preferred to have left. Food very lovely. Felt so unwelcome even tho hubby meat eater. Whilst I understand the impact on farming community it’s not beyond their realm to offer a full veggie brekkie. I would’ve spent money in their gift shop but treatment left me feeling very uncomfortable.

Stopped in at Dragonfly Fishery Lakeside Cafe while driving from Wales to England via Snowdonia / A5. It was a welcome and pleasant brekfast stop. It has a small garden centre attached to it and a lovely gift store. The breakfast is definitely a full hearty meal. The breakfast consists of Black pudding, beans, mushrooms, fried potato, bacon, 2 fried eggs, tomato and bread. You can request for items you do not want, to be removed. Freshly and well prepared. The mushrooms were absolutely delicious! Most generous supply of tea. Although the initial impression of being served is not the most welcoming and a little confusing - we had to query whether they served breakfasts, as it initially appeared to be cakes and coffee - we were soon provided with menus and assisted. The restaurant section has about 6 tables inside and 2 large couches with a coffee table in between, and 4 on the deck outside. Worth a stop for a bite to eat and a browse through the gift shop section if on a road trip along the A5 and Snowdonia. Provides a decent leg stretch and refresher break.

Popped in when passing, was 'served' by the manager or owner. Nothing wrong with our coffee or food however the way she spoke to us and several others was disgusting. No pleasantries, my 5yr old politely asked if he could have a babyccino, she asked what it was and when told it was steamed milk she said no we can't do them, then promptly served my latte as a cup of steamed milk with coffee shot on the side?! Her whole demeanor was cursory and ignorant, no pleasantries were exchanged at any point, though the young girl taking our payment was very polite and friendly. In a world where a sme goes a long way we found this place somewhat lacking.

We've tried many places nearby but none really suited. Stopped at The Dragonfly for breakfast when heading home. I cherry picked a bit due allergies. My husband had the full breakfast. WONDERFUL. My half strength hot choc was perfect....everything was perfect. The ideal place for travellers. The gift shop had some lovely good quality items - Gisela Graham. It took nearly 45 minutes for the breakfast to come which was nice and must say piping hot but the woman serving flapped about like a headless chicken the whole time, stamping her feet on the floor, huffing a puffing at the slightest thing and complained to customers about other customers. The restaurant was very quiet. Upon entering we were greeted by a member of staff who looked far from pleased, saying ‘Oh my God’ and rushing to a back room. It was Sunday afternoon and maybe they had had a busy lunch service. We were told that Sunday lunch had finished and given a menu. The table next to ours were eating bacon rolls which looked good. When we requested these we were told that they were not on the menu! We gave up and just ordered drinks. Before we had finished another party arrived, ordered and were served a Sunday roast. We felt unwelcome from beginning to end. I have to say that we were the only party who spoke with English accents ( Even though I am Welsh and two of my party were half Welsh) I hope that this was just a coincidence and that we had the misfortune to visit on a bad day!

We stopped at the cafe on a Saturday afternoon hoping for lunch on our way to Bala. Upon entering the cafe there was only 1 other customer present at the time, we found a table at the middle of the cafe to be told by one of the waitresses there was a group of 10 people due in for lunch and we may be best to move to another table to allow them Space to wait on the ‘party’. There appeared to be quite a sufficient amount of space between the tables however we politely moved seats to a further table. When looking at the menus the same waitress then went on to add that due to the party of 10 due in service may be a little slow. We highlighted that would be fine and were only ordering toasted sandwiches. We continued to choose from the menu and my partner and his sister headed to the counter to choose and pay for our order. One order was ran through and paid for then as my partner was ordering a young lady from the kitchen area bombarded out very rudely and proclaimed ‘how am I supposed to prepare that food as well as cook for ten people’?

Cosy cafe. Not many tables and can get quite busy. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice bit of music in the background. Breakfast was nice but would have been good to have the option of a poached egg. Only option was fried. Enjoyed my milkshake and my partner enjoyed his coffee. Fair value for money given the tourist area. No parking directly outside but carparks closeby and road parking a way up the road.

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.

This is just the most wonderful place..! Afternoon tea today - their own-blend leaf tea was to die for. Best "cuppa" we've had in a long time. The fixed-price afternoon tea came with our choice of sandwich from the main menu, a choice of home-made cake, and an extremely generous portion of bara brith. scones & Welsh cakes. Do this at least once in your life. The quality is exceptional as is the customer-service - real nice people working here. Vert traditional tea-room setting - about 20 covers inside? Seating also available outside and their are quite extensive trails up & behind the property to walk off some of the carbs ;) If you're visiting the Conwy Valley this needs to be on your list.
