The best restaurants in Wales

What an unexpected delight! Arrived to a warm wonderful welcome with a menu that was stacked full of treats. The coffee was superb and we all thoroughly enjoyed the range of brunch options!

Celebrated my husbands birthday here last night. Such a lovely warm, cosy atmosphere. The food was incredible, and the waiting staff were first class. We had such a special night, thank you to the team for their hard work. We will definitely be returning

Sandwiches bulked out with lettuce, tomato and cucumber,then info on the table telling customers, you have an hour at the table unless their not busy,,,more info on the table telling customers if they want the coffee and cake special , which is only on for an hour in the morning you actually only have 45 minutes so they can clear for lunch 😂. So while our sandwiches were ok at £8.50 each,we won't be returning it's not worth the journey to be watching the clock and having the threat of being asked to leave because your time's up at the table

Restaurant situé près du château de Cardiff dans une des rues animées. De délicieux plats à petits prix. Ce restaurant est à recommander. Le service est très professionnel et très sympathique.

We went for lunch on the busiest of afternoons and the staff were run off their feet and did everything they could to make it ok for us, bringing our drinks very quickly, whilst we had a bit of a wait for food. When it came it was delicious, soup, homemade hummus, lovely mixed salad, and tasty wrap. Lovely atmosphere, wide spacious wooden tables, good humoured and hard working staff. Will definitely go back.

Nice but no baby changing although frustratingly you could see where a changing table had been in the loo - not for families with small kids. Decent coffee, nice food. Definitely more a student place.

This is a village local, it was Friday night, and people were perhaps over-refreshed but in a welcoming and friendly way. It was quite quiet and the pub closed at midnight. The noisiest people to leave were predominantly staff, but I always feel that if they spend their hard earned cash in the same place that they earned it is a good sign. Personally I would have been happier if they had a cask ale available but other than that a good night was had tonight.

We visited for our daughter's birthday lunch on New Year's eve. Only a short walk from the Ffestiniog steam railway station. We ate in the vault, for fun, and had it all to ourselves. The food was lovely and even though there were not many staff working due to the date, the food and drinks were served quickly. Highly recommended.

Amazing food ! Couldn’t fault it one bit, great helpings too and all fresh . Service was impeccable, two young ladies with red hair never got there names unfortunately sorry ! Both amazing service went above and beyond and very professional. Will definitely be back again throughly all enjoyed.

We came to The Refreshment Rooms with a large group of friends (pre-booked) and were allocated our own room. The decor and atmosphere is so authentic, the staff were friendly and helpful, the coffee was excellent and we are determined to return, next time for a meal as the food smelt divine.

A hidden gem in the lovely market town of Welshpool. Fantastic mega breakfast, the best fried eggs ever, lovely dark yolks. Bacon cooked to perfection & all served up nice & hot. Great coffee. Friendly staff & dog friendly. What more can you ask for!

Been to my fair share of Chinese take aways and this is the best in North Wales without doubt. Great food, great prices, great service. Thank you Ken 👍

Our first time here and the food was lovely, and there was lots to choose from. The staff are friendly and nothing was too much for them. Great service, we really enjoyed and would definitely recommend .

We visited the Black Lion whilst on holiday and staying in Ystrad Meurig. The pub has a lovely traditional feel and the staff and locals were very welcoming. We ordered pizza from the menu and they were beautifully cooked, tasty and very well presented. Well worth a visit.

An excellent bakery with a good choice of loaves and delicious cakes. Purchased every day of a three day stay in the resort.
