Nice but no baby changing although frustratingly you could see where a changing table had been in the loo - not for families with small kids. Decent coffee, nice food. Definitely more a student place.

As per the title, we needed a pitstop to get the babies milk warmed, nappy changed as we had been out for some time. We ordered a chai latte too. The staff were very warm and friendly. The bathroom was really clean so we had no issues changing the bubba in there. Would definitely come again. Thank you.

Lovely staff and great atmosphere. Spent a morning here working remotely and found it very welcoming. Coffee and hot choc both very good! I’d note that it does get very busy around lunch time, so maybe avoid at around midday!

My double espresso was insipid and not very hot. The cake was fine but expensive. The staff need to learn how to smile and respond if somebody says thank you or good bye. Not somewhere I would recommend or visit again.

I visited the café during the school holiday's with my two well behaved children and didn't have a very good experience. While choosing cake one of my children pointed at the glass counter touching the glass while choosing the cake and was told off very rudely and patronising by one member if staff ( miserable one with ginger hair) she clearly doesn't have children. I can fully understand if they touched the cakes or were constantly rubbing dirty hands on the counter, but that's definitely not what happened. She really need's to get manners.

Excellent coffee but that’s where it ends. Reading other reviews I had the same experience. The place is totally let down by the lack of customer service. Disappointed that an independent coffee shop has worse attitude than the awful coffee chains. A smile would be nice and remembering who the customer is would be a start. I’ll go back for the coffee but only until a place sets up nearby.

I am not one to usually review but I was personally appalled by a member of staffs behaviour as I visited for a quick morning coffee. I felt unwelcome as soon as I walked through the door as there was a very tense atmosphere within the staff behind the counter. The chair that was set in a solo space was very uncomfortable so I innocently swapped it with the chair beside to then be told off by a red hair member of staff for rearranging the furniture in front of the whole coffee shop. You’d think for such a pricy coffee I would be able to sit comfortably! Made my experience there very unpleasant and uncomfortable, wish I could of had my money back and left. Terrible treatment of customers.

We found quantum coffee roasters online as we were staying in Cardiff bay for a couple of days. Fab little coffee shop. Amazing coffee. And lovely hot choc. The two lads working there were very courteous and polite. Will deffo return. Amazing place

I've tried every coffee place in Cardiff Bay, and this is the only one with really good coffee. It also has a nice atmosphere.

Mother with a baby in a pram trying to get in… on the door which had pram access it said “use other door” I go to other door, guy working there looks at me as I’m just stood there in front of a huge step. I ask him if I can order a coffee at the door as I can’t access with pram. He says to use other door. I go to other door, bear in mind he was not busy attending anyone, and I struggle to push a heavy door open, holding it with my foot so I can get mu baby in a pram in. The guy working there just looks at me. Honestly? Horrible place!!! Family run but horrible to families!

I was there for a few hours with friends, we ordered drinks and a few hours later because we didn't ordered anything else they said we had to leave. First time ever where this happened. Not going there ever again.

We visited Quantum Coffee Roasters twice on our visit to Cardiff. We were looking for somewhere where we could get a good, proper cup of coffee and this was it! We visited shortly after opening on both days so it was quiet and provided a good setting to enjoy drinking coffee and relaxing in. Prices on a par with elsewhere. One way system in place which I found reassurring.

After reading reviews we ordered two take away cappuccini, the milk was burnt and tasted bitter and both coffees resembled lattes. To be honest we'd hoped Quantum hired baristas and not milk frothers. Such a shame as expectations were high and a waste of £5.

I visited Quantum Roasters yesterday afternoon during my lunch break. I had been there a few times recently and had always felt the staff were somewhat standoffish when I tried to chat to them, but thought I might be imagining it. Yesterday however I visited the cafe once again during my lunch break and bought a hot chocolate and sat down by the long bench by the window. I was sitting there quite a while and after a while the seat became uncomfortable to sit in, and seeing that the sofa was free I went to go and change my seat. Two seconds later I was told very rudely that that area was for six people. The coffee shop was not even half full at the time, so there was no reason for me to be addressed like this - the barista could’ve asked politely if it would have been ok for me to move if a group of six entered the place, or even asked me to buy another drink, which I would’ve been happy to do. After being made to feel so unwelcome however I left, and will not be returning. I find this a real shame as I always like to support smaller businesses rather than chains, but from now on I will be taking my custom to Costa instead, as I am always treated well there (not to mention they do a delicious vegan ham and cheese toastie! 😋)

Best place to relax and enjoy good coffee during a coffee break while in Cardiff. The place is spacious, the music is relaxing, and the smell of fresh roast is inhaled straight to your brain!

Great coffee and very friendly staff. Would definitely suggest the yoghurt flapjack for people looking for a filling snack.

Tried one of their evenings entertainment. Was brilliant and free. No coffee but there was wine, beer and soft drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Pedimos dos panini de verduras y queso, dos paquetes de patatas fritas, una rebanada de pastel vegano y un café y té.La comida y las bebidas llegaron rápidamente, lo que fue genial, ya que estábamos muy hambrientos.La mezcla de aderezo de lechuga se ahogó en un aderezo balsámico y fue tan vinagre que me hizo toser!El panini era poco inspirador con muy poco relleno y el pan por dentro estaba empapado. El queso tampoco se había derretido.Si bien me gusta, suministran patatas fritas galesas, no fueron las mejores, y la mala elección entre salado y queso y cebolla fue decepcionante.Las bebidas eran geniales, el café caliente y sabroso y el té de frutas era encantador.Elegí el pastel vegano porque se veía húmedo y pegajoso. Lo compartimos y a ninguno de nosotros nos gustó. La textura era muy sombría y no agradable para comer.Lo sentimos, pero no volveremos aquí de nuevo.

Being local to me I regularly call here for either a cappuccino or green tea. The welcome is friendly and warm. Sometimes I have a toasted sandwich or a cake. Nice place to visit and reasonably priced.

He estado viniendo aquí regularmente por un poco más de dos años, ¡y tengo problemas para disfrutar de tomar café en otro lugar! Siempre recibí una bienvenida amistosa de parte del equipo, y su propio café tostado es absolutamente increíble. Hay una buena selección de comida, como sándwiches tostados, que son fáciles de disfrutar en el ambiente relajado de la cafetería.No puedes equivocarte con un simple café con leche, pero si te sientes aventurero, prueba uno de sus lattes matcha o té de hojas sueltas.

Tuvimos deliciosos cafés deliciosos aquí y definitivamente regresaremos para probar los otros cafés interesantes en el menú. Es genial ver un negocio independiente en la Bahía que siente pasión por lo que hacen. Mi único pequeño inconveniente es que los sillones necesitan un poco de limpieza, el que yo estaba sentado estaba lleno de migajas.

Very good flat white, nicely made and good service. The food is also good, perhaps not 5/5 good but certainly 4/5. The coffee is great though and certainly the best in the area. Recommended

I tried my first Matcha Latte here - it was lovely. I think that this place is more for you "artistic coffee" lovers out there. Lots on offer and they can do lots of requests. Loads of variations of teas and coffees available and they have a loyalty card scheme. Nice plush leather sofas to chill out on. You can also get coffee-flavoured beer (if that's your thing!)

I really like the taste of the coffee here, but my recent trip wasn’t great.I had a free coffee on my card, but the guy who served me sighed and muttered something about it being old before tearing it up. I didn’t hear him and asked ‘sorry?’ But he didn’t reply, shrugged and didn’t look at me at all.The coffee here is great and I haven’t been out out on my own for a while due to personal reasons, and was looking forward to having time to drink coffee and read my book. I didn’t stay long however, as I caught the owners eye and he was looking at me with another man and talking. Now, I have no idea what they were talking about but they didn’t stop looking at me.I didn’t know that my card wasn’t good to use anymore, and I would have rather the guy tell me this and and then I would have paid for my coffee, as I do like it there.Please, if this happens again, I’m sure customers would appreciate your honesty.

This lovely coffee shop near the Millenium Centre in Cardiff Bay was a great find whilst working at the Eisteddfod this oast week. Their Hot chocolate was amazing as was their apple, cinnamon and yogurt topped tray bake. Went with a colleague again yesterday and the quality has been the same each time. Will definitely make a point of visiting when next in the area. Staff very friendly and helpful too.

A quirky, friendly and cosy place in the heart of the bay. It's got something for everyone with the menu ranging from basics like capaccinos and iced lattes to Turkish and filtered coffee, not to mention smoothies, teas and COFFEE BEER ! The owners know their stuff and are always up for sharing their knowlede and having a chat. I would definitely recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed!

We stopped for a cup of coffee and a quick bite shortly after arriving in Cardiff. The Quantum is a very nice and funky place, and the selection of good quality coffee was impressive. The service was excellent and both members of staff were super nice and friendly.

I Saw Quantum in passing and felt a visit was much needed. After reading reviews i have stopped by and I'm not dissapointed. The coffee is great tasting and well made. The food was nice also. The atmosphere is great, relaxing and great selection of background music. Will visit again.

An independent coffee shop (in the era of chains) with awesome coffee/tea, an amazing ambience, a warm welcome and THE best hot chocolate ever. 5 variation of hot chocolate from white to extra dark. Real Chocolate too.... not powdered like in most of the chains.

By far the best place to drink you coffee in Cardiff. A variety of cold and warm coffee’s in as superb environmnet. Both the owner (Dimitris) and the manager (also Dimitris) have in depth knowledge about the preparation of coffee. A place not to miss in Cardiff Bay.

Love this place down Cardiff Bay just down from the Wales Millenium Centre. Its five minutes away from where I work so I visit on a regular basis. The coffee is amazing, and the staff are always friendly. It has a peaceful, welcoming ambience and a great selection. If your a fan of original independant places or have an eye for quality coffee, then make this your next place to visit if your ever down Cardiff Bay.

Me and my friend went to quantum for a coffee on Friday and so glad I did!!!

I've only ever been here twice but really should come in more often. The atmosphere is lovely. The chairs and sofas are cozy and the lighting isn't too bright. The music was nice too :) I had a latte and the best caramel flapjack. I'll be back again :)

Good coffee, used to love their dark mocha and buy regularly. Good customer service unless you get served by the owner. Asked to see the ingredients list on their soya milk as wanted to buy a bebicino for an allergic child (it's a standard request as by law you either have to list your ingredients or name them when asked), was looked at by the owner as if I am a complete idiot. Since their ingredients are unknown, I then asked for an empty cup (I always carry non allergic milk with me anyway) and instead of just giving it I was rudely told "what for?!" As if I just randomly entered from the street to steal his coffee cup and not purchased anything else. Thanks guys - never again! Also, as mentioned by others, in a £4 panini you get a slice of the cheapest cash and curry cheese so while coffee is good food is not recommended.

I feel a bit conflicted about this place. A colleague insists it's the best coffee shop in Cardiff; the decor and ambience are undoubtedly very pleasant; it's also great to see an independent artisan coffee place - with a quirky Meditteranean vibe - in the bay. However, my experience of the coffee is only so-so and on my last visit the barista didn't even attempt basic latte art. Come on guys, don't just go through the motions!

One of my favourite haunts. Always a friendly greeting from the owners and the coffee is excellent. Mind you I usually drink Green Tea.

Coffee was decent like you'd expect in an independent coffee shop. Service was great and this place had a nice atmosphere, well ahead of the chain experience. Would definitelybe worth diverting a few minutes off course to go here rather than to a chain.

While the others are on the Santa Fun Run, I snuck in here to warm up. The ratings seen justified and the hot chocolate was really great and at £3.20 quite reasonable. Would def recommend..

Being local this is one of my favourite pop-in's for coffee or hot tea. Reasonably priced and I love the Canola's and Lemon Puffs.

An amazing independent coffee store in the heart of Cardiff Bay. Had a Double expressos and they were perfect and the taste was so so good not bitter at all . The atmosphere were unique and the staff friendly and so attentive.

I only had a coffee here so cannot comment on the food, but the coffee was very nice, the surroundings were ambient and the staff friendly. Good place to spend a half hour reading and drinking good coffee.

The lovely Greek people who own this place really know how to make a fabulous cup of coffee and this is a lovely place to spend an afternoon. Especially if you arrive there in time to get hold of the superbly comfortable sofa by the window! I especially loved the artistic vibe of the place, what with the antiques lying around and the pieces of art hanging on the wall. And it was cheap!!

Stopped in here as I was intrigued by the design. From outside it doesn't strike you as a 'local' coffee place, but inside, service is with a smile and the coffee is served perfectly. Great roast and fantastic temperature. I am a fan for life.

The owners have always been very friendly whenever I've visited. You can tell they are genuinely passionate about the coffee they serve. They are always happy to offer a recommendation if you are struggling to choose. They even offer a range of brew methods.

Average. The coffee is good. The decor leaves you feeling cold and the lack of a proper range of food makes it all seem a bit pointless, unless all you want is pure, fancy coffee.

What a surprise to find coffee made with a chemex in Cardiff (James Bond's coffee maker of choice, google it)

I'm extremely fussy about my coffee and pick holes in everywhere I visit but it's really hard to find any fault in quantum; I love the brown roller menus hanging on the wall and the prices are reasonable for the coffee. If I had to recommend a drink, go for the dark mocha it's lush! Keep up the good work quantum!

I really like the chilled-out environment of this cafe, makes it a relaxing spot for an afternoon coffee. The staff are always nice and friendly. Only thing I would say as a negative is that I like weak coffee and they can't do single shots of coffee so I always find it a bit strong.

We popped in for coffee whilst we waited for our son and had a really tasty coffee and delightful cake each. I recommend the flat white and the caramel shortbread.

My friend had Columbian filter coffee , I had a latte. Wow amazing coffee. Worth the little extra for quality. Like the decor too.

I found this place in the bay and exceeded all my expectations. There is always one of the owners in the place who suggests different types of coffees and explains the quality and strength. One can enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere, very well decorated and on the top, high quality coffee from different places all over te world.

This is a real gem of a coffee shop, standing proudly on Bute Street in walking distance from Mermaid Quay but away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy parts of the Bay. The quirky decor provides a feast for the eyes whilst the superb quality coffee will not be matched in the surrounding area or beyond.

Fantastic family owned artisan coffee shop that roasts and grinds it's own coffee on site. Staff are friendly and obviously very passionate about coffee. Enjoyed my first Chemex coffee which was incredibly rich and smooth. Kids are welcome and the setting is very chilled. The quality of coffee here is way above the average high street chains. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Just been,first time. Pretty quiet but can see that it could handle bigger crowds as unlike most coffee houses they don't pack in as many tables & chairs as possible. Cool retro-feel furniture too. Good coffee,friendly staff. Give it a go.

Having only opened quite recently, I have been a regular visitor to Quantum. If you're big in to your coffee like I, then there is truly no other place in Cardiff where you will experience a greater passion for it! Always extremely friendly and welcoming, with great customer service and knowledge of their products.

I've visited here a few times recently and I'm so impressed. I'm a big fan of 'proper' coffee, especially when it's freshly roasted. Quantum roast their own coffee on site and it really makes a difference in the taste. I've tried several of the cakes which are very nice, and the lady who runs it is always very friendly and welcoming.

I stopped by Quantum for a quick coffee on my way home (I only live 5 minutes away!) after noticing it a few days ago. I had a soya cappuccino which was delicious and served with a smile. There is free wifi and plenty of tables and chairs to sit at. Seemed a very friendly place - will definitely be back!

I know it's all about the coffee that this lovely little unique cafe roasts itself in its great big machine. But the three types of hot chocolate (milk, dark and white) are glorious! Some great cakes to choose from too!!

We stopped by not long before closing time, however we still had great service. The coffee was lovely, very tasty and a change from the larger chains. The cake was also very good. Nice atmosphere, good location to watch the world go by. Would recommend.

Quantum feels very relaxed and on a weekday rather quiet, definitely not bustling. However, this may change on a weekend. It wasn't crowded either, yet it did provide a lot of space, thus it is ideal for both those on a solo mission for good coffee and/or a large group. They offer a wide variety of beans- Kenyan, Costa Rican and Brazilian- plus they offer different brewing methods such as a v60 dripper, a chemex glass and a briki pot. I had an ibrik coffee (Greek style and sweet) and it was perfect, served with 30p biscotti.
