This wonderful little gem run by a husband from Turkey and wife from Slovakia prepare some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had. We had eggplant & red pepper mousaka and lamb tangine and topped the meal off with delicious homemade ice cream. Wonderful wine selection as well. Very reasonable prices. It’s a must visit in Broadway!!

We have consistently used Lake Spice as eat-in and takeaway since it opened. The food is excellent in quality and value for money. Even more so with the 20% discount for self collection of takeaway meals. We’re intending to use Lake Spice again this evening as a birthday choice.

We had lunch. It was nice but the staff were terribly badly dressed. Man at bar was in loudly coloured rugby shirt and person who brought the food was in too short shorts, thick, hairy legs and trainers. Please smarten yourselves up. It looked very unprofessional. Long trousers and a proper, smarter shirt or polo shirt, please. I noticed this is supposed to be 5 star. You need to maintain certain standards in all aspects.

called in to grab something to take home for lunch. Evans is ‘famous ‘ for its Chelsea buns so grabbed one and a savoury roll.Service prompt but no hint of a smile ,don’t know if the lady serving was having a bad life(always had this style of service from her for a number of years) Really off putting-failed charm school obviously then to add the icing on top of this bitter cake the Chelsea bun dry and stale whilst the chicken roll full of cranberry sauce and very very little meat.My advice shop elsewhere-better service, better quality and can use cards as Evans only take cash under £5 sales(not convenient at times)

Having seen the reviews of this cafe, we decided to take an elderly friend for lunch. Having driven through beautiful Welsh countryside we arrived at 12.45. There was a welcome sign saying what the soup of the day was with the price…all seemed well. We entered the cafe and there were plenty of tables with tables outside. However, upon our entry we were asked if we had booked! When we said no, we were told that all we could be offered was a dessert and a drink! When I pointed out that nothing on their website said bookings were required, I was told that bookings were required! We were told no seats were available inside, so went and sat outside and had a scone for lunch! We noted that the cafe was completely empty of customers when we left an hour later. I suppose all who booked could not make it! The scone was nice, but not really adequate for a lunchtime meal. I should add that the Ty Bach was like an outdoor privy. There were electric socket unit hanging from the wall near a sign that warned of very hot water. I doubt the facility would pass a safety inspection! All in all we were extremely disappointed. Having driven some miles to take a friend to lunch, we feel we were let down by false advertising on the website which simply said it was open Thursday to Sunday and offered a full menu. The sign at the door offered soup of the day, but obviously not to us. BE WARNED… they apparently require customers to book in advance. The toilet facilities are dangerous!

I think there were about 14 of us came for lunch a few weeks ago. My sister managed to book us in on a beautiful day and the meal did, like the staff did not disappoint! Our food was brought out quickly so that we were all able to eat together and my gosh, wasn’t there a ton of it! Fantastic to have choices of potatoes- roasties, plus mash or boiled as that always upsets someone! The option of mixing the meat up went down a storm too! With the options of buying the extras at reasonable prices being a lovely little bonus! The huge bonus however was the free traditional style dessert with plenty of selection from rice pudding to lemon tart and pretty much most other things you can think of, all home made with choice of custard or ice cream! Too full to eat dessert? No problem, they will give it to you to take away too! The staff couldn’t do enough for you either, checking in on everyone and the coffee server ;) had a great sense of humour keeping everyone in check too! We will no doubt be back (half the family already have been so I hear!)
