A gem of a pub. Our absolute favourite on the island. Have had some brilliant times in this original old pub. The guys that run it are warm and welcoming, and they have music nights where you can mingle with the musicians and even play along. There's also a jukebox and pool table in the younguns side. And a toasty warm fire burning at the back. Our only regret is that we didn't visit even more often!

Nice friendly pub with a good choice of beers/lagers. Interesting area at the back of the main bar which is cut into rock and known as the cave. Dogs are welcome too.

Doesnt look very big from the outside but it has 3 rooms one of which has a pool table and dart board. The bar area is quite large and built into the rock with exposed rock face. Warm friendly welcome. Would recommend.

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.

Having been walking the Anglesey Coastal Path for many years, my wife and I have dropped on umpteen noteworthy eating establishments. Banc rates up there with the best. Whether it be the the quality of the food, or the really good value, or the jovial quality of a happy man running his own cafe. In 70 miles of walking it is the only one we have had lunch at, then returned for afternoon tea, then had lunch again the next day. We enjoyed the quality (homemade quiche & sausage roll trice), the value, and especially the welcome. And I appreciate Staffordshire crockery. It is not actually on the Coastal Path, or even by the sea front. It is maybe 10 minutes away, with an interesting walk up the high street. But it is so worth seeking out. While we were there we got the impression it was well patronised by locals, which should be a recommendation in itself. I have just been telling 2 other families, coming to Anglesey how to find it. On a practical point, dogs are welcome in the garden. So obviously not when it is raining, but also after inclement weather when it is still unacceptable under foot (paw ?) We expect to call when we do the next bit of the Coastal Path.
