They fill there condiments with cheap fake sauces and my daughter had an allergic reaction Not good

Called here while on a morning visit to Llangefni,so had lunch.Good decision! Food was very nice,the place was spotlessly clean,nice and roomy inside,and the people running the place were amazing.......very polite,helpful and the service in all was superb.Really glad we called at Mona's. Oops, forgot to mention......very good vfm. Highly recommended.💝💝💝💝💝

Lovely Sunday lunch today at mona house my self hubby my daughter and 2 grandsons the dinner was delicious a choice of lamb or beef we opted for both meats which were delicious followed by homemade sticky toffee pudding ( home made ) with ice cream , good service . I’d highly recommend Mona House 👍👍.

We holidayed for a week in Anglesey eating at least lunch in a coffee shop every day. Covid restrictions in Wales at the moment are to wear masks indoors. Mona House was the ONLY restaurant/coffee shop that we went in the entire week where all the staff were wearing masks. They used hand sanitiser before touching the PDQ machine and before giving me my receipt. Also my hubby reported that the sandwich was the best he has eaten for a long time. The bite I had of his verified that it was delicious. My ciabatta was lovely, the milkshake not great, but overall the experience of Mona House was outstanding. All the best to them.

I've been here a couple of times whilst on holiday over the last couple of years. I went with my teenage children and we all ordered sanwiches. Mine was a tuna melt, delicious. I also had a portion of chips and they were absolutely gorgeous. The table next to us had scones which looked amazing, so we ordered some and we were not dissapointed. They were huge, home made and absolutely perfect. I'll definately keep coming back when I'm in the area.

Fabulous food as always. A must stop for us on a bike ride and even though they were short staffed today the service was excellent and food came out quickly. Gwych, diolch yn fawr iawn xx

Great cafe, spotlessly clean, nice atmosphere, the staff were smart in appearance, friendly & polite. Easy parking directly across the street. We had the all day breakfast and can highly recommend it, the hash browns where the best we had ever eaten, the bacon was of an excellent quality with decent size portions, as were the accompanying ingredients. Also had the fresh homemade scones, with clotted cream and jam to take away, which were thoroughly enjoyed with a nice cup of tea later that day. Wish we had the opportunity to visit this place more frequently as the choice on the menu, as well as the daily 'specials' on the board, all looked very tempting.

Hubby and I had lunch today in mona house Llangefni opted for soup and a sandwich broccoli and Stilton soup was delicious as was the egg sandwiches 🥪 good value for money 👌then a double shot latte and lemon and blueberry sponge cake was delicious exc service well worth a visit 10 / 10 👌👌

Went here with a couple of friends, phoned to book in advance, the staff were really pleasant and complied with the Covid rules, had a lasagna chips salad with coleslaw you could tell it was home made, was delicious and arrived quickly after ordering will definitely be returning here again.

We called for lunch and were lucky enough to get a table almost straight away. The menu offers a wide selection of hot and cold snacks, sandwiches, a soup of the day and more substantial meals. A children's menu is available with larger meals offered for the older kids. There is wide choice of coffees, or tea to accompany your meal, and all the prices are very reasonable. We found that the tables were well-placed for social distancing and cleaned thoroughly immediately after a customer left. Service was quick and the staff were friendly and helpful. A very pleasant lunch, and we would definitely recommend the Mona House.

We ordered two scones with jam and cream, and a mocha latte. Total price £8.60, which we thought was reasonable. The scones were home made, with sultanas and orange which were delicious. You got a generous portion of jam, and the standard generous pot of clotted cream. The staff were friendly and asked us to sign our name and number for COVID purposes. They also made you wait outside to be seated, and came to our table for ordering which was good.

We decided to visit Llangefni as it’s a little out of the main tourist areas. We came across this little place, it looked quiet and they had spare tables. The food was very reasonably priced, it tasted great and the service was wonderful. I will definitely be back here ❤️.

Came here for the first time yesterday. There were no tables initially as we had not reserved however a table was quickly cleared for us. They served everything we needed (including toast, teacakes and a large selection of hot drinks including decaff) at very reasonable prices and the staff were all friendly as well. Would definitely come back.

Excellent service always and the staff are fantastic and friendly. Me and my friend visit almost every day for lunch on our lunch hour. The cafe is always spotless and the food os excellent and very reasonably priced. The scones are fabulous. The owners are lovely as are the staff and go above and beyond. I would highly recommend.

I’ve visited mona house many occasions and still do the food is homemade not from frozen I’ve eaten the lasagne the cottage pie the homemade steak pie is delicious the all day breakfast is amazing all freshly cooked good value for money and to think the new owner has not been there a year I think they are well established now very friendly staff lovely atmosphere keep it up mona house oh and the homemade soups are lush ☕️☕️,

This cafe was a lovely find.We popped in on a Saturday afternoon whilst having a drive through Anglesey. I had home made scones that were to die for. My friend had the home made soup of the day and she said it was lovely. I drink black coffee and it was great to find that the coffee was really nice with no bitterness as you sometimes find. Having the car park over the road was really handy. The cafe was very clean and I will definitely be returning.

Popped in for a rare fried breakfast and left afterwards wishing I hadn’t bothered.I was served with breakfast within a few minutes of ordering which raised my suspicions, later confirmed when I ate the miserable offerings placed in front of me. Sausages, obviously blasted in the microwave were hot, hollow and tasteless and the bacon was similarly reheated. Baked beans were cold and the tea was insipid. To make matters worse the lad behind the counter insisted that everything had been freshly cooked which was so obviously untrue. At £8.95 this was hardly cheap and I left feeling ripped off. I will not be back

Entered on my own. One lady serving rather abrupt. Not happy with the surcharge for using card under the value of £5?? I thought it wasn't allowed.

Lovely tea pot of lovely tea just like home.Eggy bread beans and bacon all cooked just right . Simple.

I asked a hot chocolate with cream it was good and not very expensive. Staff are polite, and nice, bathrooms are clean and tables too. Thank you!

We visited a couple of times for breakfast whilst on a recent holiday. My husband took our 2 boys and they all said it was very friendly and the food was lovely. They would definitely visit again. Located in the town centre and easy to get to.

I have visited this cafe numerous times over the past year or so and I must say that Marie and Jenny are doing a fabulous job! They are both always so kind and attentive- as are the rest of the staff! The breakfast is absolutely delicious and a very good portion size too ( I never manage to finish it ). The coffee is also amazing- freshly brewed and served just right :) I must add that this cafe is also very child friendly with a childs menu and plenty of high chairs to go around!

Friendly, prompt service. Great coffee and a pleasant lunch in the centre of Llangefni. A wide choice of food on the menu catering for all tastes.

Good friendly service, food took long enough for it to be freshly made but didn't take forever. Tasty cheese and nice fresh crisp salad, coffee and fruit tea of good quality, overall faultless - oh, and very reasonable too!

Visited Monas whilst on holiday on Anglesey. We were served quickly.. I had Ham, egg and chips and my husband had an all day breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals. It was very filling and hot. All the staff were friendly and polite. It was nice to hear the Welsh language being used (some I understood, but I'm very rusty) If we were in Llangefni again we would definitely eat here again.

Here is an unassuming and simple eatery across from the central plaza in town. We actually ate here 10 years ago, and were pleased to see it still going. Service is courteous and prompt. The place is authentic and strong on Welsh banter. Menu is varied and long — all kinds of bap (Welsh sandwich thingy), eggs, etc etc.--just perfect for needing lunch without wanting it to be the huge meal of the day—tho if you did want a big meal, you could certainly get it. Their desserts are a wonderful treat. Just eat here.

In the same way that a steakhouse should know how to prepare a good steak, a coffee shop should know how to prepare decent coffee. Sadly, Mona House appears to have missed this memo. Ordered espresso: it was very watery, ashy, hollow and single-dimensional. Mentioned this to staff who became very defensive and insisted that this is how espresso should be. As a result of the grinder being set far too coarsely and incorrect tamping technique, the coffee was extracted far too quickly (ca. 10 seconds) with no crema in the cup. The total volume was also far too high for espresso. Overall, very disappointing: I appreciate that this appears to be a “first world problem” but it angers me greatly to see the hard work of many people, and the thousands of miles the coffee has traveled, be ruined in the last step of the coffee’s journey (being extracted and served to the customer) purely due to poor technique and improper training.

What happened the place does not look like this now. Had a coffee, it was disgusting, we had to leave them. Definately not a cappuchino or a late. Will not be back for sure.

Lovely coffee shop with service to match. Our dog was first to be served with a fresh bowl of water, a lovely touch. Highly recommended.

We ate here! We had very nice lunch and my husband was impressed with Pea and Mint soup my daughter enjoyed chicken goujons! I chose and made my own te items were 90p each bacon sausage egg hash brown ! Very good

Have visited the café regularly and personally never been disappointed with either the service or quality of food and drinks provided. Am a particular fan of a pretty basic snack, Cheese on Toast. The version done by Mona House used a particularly tasty Welsh Mature...

We came here from breakfast before heading down towards Menai and Beaumaris. It was lovely, and very reasonably-priced. The owner was very nice too, and helpful with advice about what we should do during our visit. We were glad we came.

Only met up with friends for coffee here but the coffee was lovely! Nice friendly cafe, although not much room for a pram.

We have been here now a couple of times over the years. The food is home cooked and always very good. We had a all day breakfast and it was really nice and the staff are alway happy to help and friendly.

A very friendly cafe always seems busy, a good cuppa hot chocolate, good menu, an excellent choice of food, nicely served .Any body visiting Llangefni, I can certainly recommend it, watching the hustle and bustle of this busy market town.

I keep going back, great place very clean 5* hygiene, the portions are generous and the menu varied I particularly like the soup, home made and tasty.

had to wait for our car to be serviced so popped in here just for coffee, we saw the menu board and we noticed there was hand battered cod and chips , oooh we couldnt resist that so we ordered it , it was £7.50 for special with bread and butter and coffee , we certainly were not disappointed , it was lovely and fresh , the batter tasted lovely , i loved the chips too , im pretty fussy about them , will definitely go back again , loads of lovely dishes on the menu , the lady who served us was really hard working , but took the time to chat to us , such a really nice lady , the place itself was spotless , definitely recommend

Called in to escape the rain. Picked soup and a sandwich off the menu.The soup was very good as it wasn't laced with salt or pepper. Much prefer it that way and was pleased to have picked it from the menu along with a lovely egg sandwich which was delicate and light rather than heavy on the stomach. Hot chocolate was made to my liking, half milk, half hot water. Had a caramel slice and took another one home because it was the BEST caramel slice I have ever tasted !! Next time I am in Llangefni I will certainly be calling again.

This is a very good town centre cafe. It has to be said that the menu is not inspired but the food quality is very acceptable and reasonable portion size. Coffee good. Staff very friendly. Prices as you would expect. The best in the town by a long shot.

The Sunday lunch here is lovely and very good value. There is a choice of roasts and a good selection of vegetables. It was a really good meal and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, well worth a visit.

We go here at least once a month with work. Always warmly welcomed. Nothing too much hassle for the staff.They have lovely homemade chips here - reason enough to go there!

Came with my friends and children, enough choice on the menu. Had lovely cauliflower and cheddar soup which was homemade and tasty. The only problem with this visit is the lady that served us. She was a bit old fashioned (nothing wrong with that) but she has to understand that children do make noise and can be loud at times. Even though nothing was said, but the looks were enough to make us hurry up, eat and leave rather quickly.

My wife and I called in for our usual cup of coffee on the Saturday morning.. We had not had breakfast so decided to have the welsh breakfast and a coffee. The breakfast was excellent, the coffee good and the service very good. We noticed the decorations were new and then found out that the coffee shop had been taken over. It's usually quite busy whenever I have been, but I can usually squeeze in somewhere. Food is nice, probably homemade. Doesn't smell of greasy cooking, which is a plus point.

Staying on Anglesey for a week in early June, we found ourselves in Llangefni at lunch time. We looked around and didn't spot anywhere inviting until we came across Mona House Coffee Shop. Enjoyed a very good light'ish lunch and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was licensed! Staff were friendly and efficient and the whole place was spotless. I got the impression it was popular with local regulars - not surprising. I think I remember that they do close at 4 pm.

There were three of us visiting and we got a nice table straight away, it was quite busy aswell. The lady came over to take our order straight which was nice as I thought we'd have to order at the bar. We ordered two Latte's and a hot choc with cream and marshmallows which were all lovely and came in good time! We then ordered three sausage sandwiches which were lovely.. I did find it was rather expensive as the bill did come up to almost £20 and to be honest its not a fine dining experience but the staff, drinks and food were all good so cant fault it, would recommend and would go back!

The Welsh breakfast is really nice and tasty, a good varied menu and the soup never disappoint. The kids love going and sitting in the window and people watching. Kids meals are of a generous size and not over priced. It can get very busy during the market days. The café is always spotless.

Cycling from Pentraeth to Rhosneigr, I needed a spot to meet a friend and have a coffee. Despite having a very poor coffee here in the past, I called in. It was very busy, as it was market day, the 2 ladies at the bar looked a little flustered. One was boiling milk in a plastic jug. Bad sign. I asked for a latte, and saw that the milk for most peoples coffees was being super heated. OK, some of the old folks like it hot, so I asked that mine was not too hot, and no choc dust on top. 10 minutesblater it arrived, boiled milk topped up with cold. Not undrinkable, but not worth 2 and a bit quid, and a wait. Shame, as I probably wont be back, unless they get some serious training, or at least a stainless jug and a thermometer.

Arrived there at 315 but the kitchen was only serving light meals, gutted as I had been working nights and had not long got up. Deflated we ordered coffee and contemplated the rest of the day. After a fee minutes a waitress came over and asked what we'd wanted, to which I replied 'stodge', she smiled and walked away, only to return a minute or two later to say if we wanted food they'd gladly reopen the kitchen (on the basis we didn't tell anyone, wink wink lol). We ordered 2 full breakfasts which were HUGE, and absolutely spot on. Will definitely return, but earlier next time as not to inconvenience the very helpful staff there.

We know the area well but this was our first visit (May 2014). The first thing we noticed was the cheery welcome & service. The menu was extensive for the size and location of this coffee house and very well priced. In many cases, you can choose your own combination of fillings (sandwiches, paninis for example). The place was spotlessly clean & the tables were cleared quickly and cleaned properly. In size and general appearance, it is "basic", not a place to linger or pass the time of day; but in some ways neither is Llangefni and the alternative eating places are pretty dire. It is the best place to eat and would, in a different setting, merit a five star rating. The staff are to be complimented on their energy & enthusiasm. Thursdays & Saturdays are Market days & I am told that it is usually packed.

I am local, but love calling here for a quick meal. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Very good food for a good price as well. Well worth a visit in a dingy old town. Excellent location.

All I said to my wife was "2 soups" that set the tone for a very enjoyable hour. She giggled for ages, then explained to the staff what it was all about. the lady who served us understood and went along with our giggle.Nothing like the comedy sketch, Julie Walters is famous for. This café is clean friendly and served us with hot soup and a drink very quickly. Toilet is clean and disabled friendly. Set right in the centre of town and seems to be used by a lot of local people which is always a good sign. Oh, and the price wasn't bad either. There is a huge menu available and the meals that went past us almost made us change our order. We didn't and thoroughly enjoyed the Leek & Potato, and the Tomato & Chili soups. TWO SOUPS

Very welcoming and pleasant cafe in the centre of Llangefni. They have a nice menu and Specials. Waitresses there are always welcoming even to the locals who spend little and talk a lot and spend hours there. We were not happy with a baguette we had and left some of it on our plates. The waitress was so nice, said it was a new filling and asked us exactly what was wrong with it etc. we were then given a free coffee and scone. Such a nice touch. Well worth a visit and a nice cafe in a tired town.
