Bold Arms Hotel in Isle of Anglesey

We didn't stay here we only ate here. The barman was friendly and the food was good. Served fresh with good portions. We all tried different meals and everyone was happy. Dogs welcome too.

Called today for lunch, great food, staff really friendly great dog friendly pub, loved the dog bar with water bowls and treats, steak melt was brill.

We are in Beaumaris several times per year and The Bold is always the main pub that we visit as it is easily the most friendly (and family friendly) pub in the town. The staff are great, the food is excellent and we are always made very welcome, and I have left a review in this regard in the past. However, this time we actually booked to stay for 3 nights in the recently refurbished rooms and this is the first time we have booked a room. The room was excellent. Absolutely spotless, well taken care of and comfortable. The fridge was stocked with water and milk (and a fruit shoot for our little girl which was a very nice touch), and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletry supplies too. The bed was super comfy (as was the bed that was laid out to accommodate our little girl too). Our room's window was directly above the front door of the pub, and yet we heard very little noise at all. Overall, we were very impressed and have already booked to stay again. Thank you to Hannah and all the staff for making us all so welcome as always!

Had a lovely room upstairs (number 2) very clean, bright, airy room. Great layout. Big bed and big wall mounted tv. Loved having a proper fridge and complementary milk in a bottle instead of those awful plastic mini pots. Really appreciated that touch. Had everything you need in a room. Great location but it is on street parking. Enjoyed stay

Another excellent visit to the Bold Arms. Delicious hot food, served by our wonderful Jo, she really goes above & beyond to make our visits special, nothing is too much, she's a little gem & an asset to the business. We are also happy the coffee machine is now working again after such a long time

Myself and my partner stayed in Anglesey over the weekend. We didn't stayed at the bold arms but found it when we wanted somewhere to stop and have a drink. The locals and landlady (Hannah )were very welcoming. We decided to go back the next day. They had a singer on that night and we had a fantastic time Hannah stayed and had drinks with us. Will most certainly be going back and stopping in the pub ☺️ Small things can make a huge difference. Thank you to all at the bold arms.

We were staying in Beaumaris and visited this pub a few times over the week. We ate here one lunchtime and the food was fab. Chicken gyros wrap and fish finger sandwich. Good portions tasty and great value. It’s a locals pub and yet we were so welcomed

We visited several times over the course of our seven night stay in Beaumaris. The food was consistently excellent and we were always greeted with a warm welcome by Hannah and her team. Spent 2 nights here in December. Friendly welcome and excellent bed (kingsize). Pub has a good atmosphere, just a couple of things stopping a 5* rating: 1) I think breakfast should be included at the price paid. 2) Something needs to be set-up for breakfast-no tables are set (maybe things are different in the high season?). The clear door with the toilet immediately behind it in the bedroom isn't really conducive to privacy!

We visited this pub after reading recommendations and we were not disappointed. From the friendly welcoming atmosphere to the delicious amazing value food the whole experience was great. We couldn’t believe we could get 2 main meals and 2 drinks for £21- brilliant. Highly recommended

What a lovely little place this is. Staff are amazing and very helpful, super dog friendly with a doggy bar. Rooms clean, modern and comfortable bed. Little touches such as fresh milk and welsh cakes was a lovely surprise. Also,ate at the restaurant, great food and good value.

After a rainy morning of crabbing with my family, we were soaked through. Desperate for some food we wandered around the lovely village of Beaumaris and came upon this wonderful hidden gem. Well, it certainly warmed us up! My kids had the sharing platter and it was a perfect amount of food! The pizza, chips and a pint for £12 was a bargain deal and my kids dad loved it! The staff were really accommodating and even came outside to entice us in! Would 100% recommend this venue - perfect for large families like mine when you’re kids are extremely fussy. Will defo be back before our holiday ends (we’re only here for the weekend!). Gillian approved ✅✅✅✅

We visited the Bold Arms on our recent holiday to Beaumaris and were extremely impressed with the food and service. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. Our little dog Tess was warmly welcomed and encouraged to visit the Dog Bar for some treats. The food is so reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! Nice big portions to satisfy my two adult sons. What amazing value. Would visit again next time we’re in Anglesey.

What a fabulous find in Beaumaris,staff are so friendly and helpful,popped in for a drink and some food,food was freshly cooked and very tasty,can highly recommend the triple stacker,its huge!!!Had a few cocktails aswel,which they have just started doing! We got chatting to Hannah and few members of staff and ended up having a last minute night away,the was very modern and had everything you needed, even down to fresh milk in the fridge, the bed was super comfy,even provided a dog bed for lola my dog! We have returned from our first trip to Angelsey and after an excellent few days at Beaumaris staying at the Bold Arms. Hannah, her Dad and the whole team could not have done more for us during our break away. We arrived at our lovely room with a gigantic bed which was very comfy, all the amenities we needed for a 3 night break including fresh milk, hot drink facilities and bottles of water. The extra touch of a bed for our dog Jessie 💕 We ate at the hotel once and the food was fab, especially the pizza! We had a full English on our last morning and that was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a hotel! We explored the beautiful Angelsey and we absolutely loved it, such a beautiful part of the UK. Thank you again for looking after us and we shall definitely return

Pub Review - The Bold Arms, Beaumaris, Anglesey, Wales. A very nice standard traditional pub located close to the castle, and car/coach parking area near to the sea. Fantastic pub, serving great food. Made a triple chicken stacker, with mozzarella sticks, especially for my other half. Had it as takeaway, and he demolished the lot! 2 nights later, he had a meat feast calzone….just as good. We visit The Bold daily when we are in Beaumaris, all the staff are so friendly, from the landlady Hannah, to Hayley, Eddie, and our very good mate Malcolm. Be back soon!!

Visited as part of a group of 16 who were in Beaumaris for my wife’s 40th birthday celebration weekend, Hannah and the team were brilliant, food was lovely (I had the chicken Gyro) they had set up the tables in the dining area so we could all sit closely together and were happy to wait till everyone was comfortably seated and ready for the meals. Served the meals for my 2 young nieces first while the rest of the group ordered drinks etc, a very attentive move more places should consider. Had dressed the tables with balloons and decorations and a free Prosecco for the birthday girl! Thank you to all the staff, would definitely recommend and will definitely go back to Beaumaris in the future.

Just had the chicken Gyros, chips and a pint while my partner had a meat feast pizza, chips and a pint. A filling meal and a drink each for £20 between us. Where else would you get this value for such tasty food? This is exactly what Beaumaris has needed for ages. Kudos to the team at the Bold. Will make this a weekly thing.

Absolutely amazing! Popped in for lunch and to watch the football on a day out. Pizza meal, chips and a pint for £10 and it was delicious. Staff were so welcoming and even went out of their way to provide a meal for our child who has allergies, cooking food that isn’t usually on the menu. Couldn’t have asked for anything more. Called in for a beer and a glass of wine. First time visit on a nice day, we just wanted somewhere with a place to sit outdoors. This pub had a small beer garden out the back which was a bit cramped even though there were only 3 couples there. When I asked for a glass of red wine, there was a choice of one; a merlot in a 175ml bottle, which I was handed along with a glass. Slightly surprised as this pub has a restaurant. However the service was friendly and the wine and the beer were good and we spent a pleasant hour in the sun.

Called at the Bold this afternoon with my wife this afternoon on our day off. Being local we'd heard the Bold was serving food again after a couple of years. We weren't disappointed ! We were met by Hanah the landlady, who's warm friendly persona reflects what the Bold arms is all about. As usual, the place was spotlessly clean. Although quite busy with visitors for a Tuesday afternoon during 'school-time', our food arrived in no time at all. I had the Cheeseburger, with chips salad etc, while Carol my wife had the Gammon with egg etc. The food was well presented, and really tasty. In comparison to the other eateries within the town, the food at the bold arms represents really good value for money. If you visit our lovely town, in particularly with kids in tow the Bold arms is a 'must try'. We don't think you'l be disappointed ! By the way, the Bold Arms is extremely pet friendly as well !!!!!!

Having arrived at our prebooked accommodation in Beaumaris, we were told that there was no room at the inn! We were there for a wedding and were supposed to be at the event within the hour so it was a real disappointment that we now had nowhere to change or stay and we were two hours from home. Whilst I had been dealing with the B&B that had let us down, my husband had escaped to the nearest pub - The Bold Arms. I went in there to let him know what had happened, only to find him having a great time drinking with the locals and chatting to the friendly staff. The kind landlady then offered us a room above the pub at a fraction of the cost we’d expected to pay at the B&B! The room was a big ensuite with a comfortable bed. We had time for a quick change while the staff sorted a taxi for us and we made the wedding with time to spare! Great pub, lovely staff, brilliant beer and we’ll definitely be booking to return and stay! Thank you Hannah and all at the Bold Arms.

The other reviews on this page no longer give an accurate representation of this pub.We walked in and got a lovely welcome by everyone we met, the locals made a point of talking to us which was nice.Unfortunately the beer is terrible, probably why they were empty on a Friday night. We visited twice and tried two different beers (one ale and one lager) both had the same gone off taste. The Landlord admitted he didn’t like ale so couldn’t check it but sadly the lager was the same.We watched them clean the lines which they did badly, not letting the line cleaner sit in the lines at all. A good routine of line cleaning would go a long way.

Several of us left the soulless bar in the Bulkeley to visit this bar. The service was good and we were soon enjoying a joke with the locals. You must give it a try if you are in the area.

Popped in for a quiet afternoon pint on a miserable wet Saturday. Friendly staff, quiet pub, watched a bit of sport on the telly. Nice.

Decent, friendly Welsh pub, locals can be a bit of a handful when they hear an English accent but on the whole a decent pub with down to earth people in there.

Que desean un almuerzo tarde cuando otros pubs había dejado de servir ensalada de gambas pedí un con patatas fritas de camote. Nos espera un largo tiempo a pesar de ser los únicos clientes, pero cuando llegó fue una comida maravillosa, un montón de gambas en una salsa encantador con ensalada fresca y gran patatas fritas. Todo por un billete! Fantástica relación calidad-precio.

We called in here for a drink on the first day of our weeklong holiday in Beaumaris. We did not go back. We were not made to feel at all welcome by the staff or the locals and there was nothing that made us want to go back during our stay.

Really gutted to turn up at the Bold Arms Beaumaris to find the Monks Kitchen closed and Steve the chef gone! The food used to be well presented and cooked to perfection with plenty of choice. Sad to say the choice isnt there anymore. It has a very limited menu in comparison to what it used to be and the food didn't look as appealing when watching what was being brought out. Im afraid i wont be eating there again unless things improve.

We decided on the bold arms because of the football and although that was a terrible result the food was excellent we met chef Steve who was very friendly and looked after my vegetarian needs my wife had a steak which she really enjoyed if we had been staying longer on Angelsy we would have returned we wish Steve well in the future you deserve to do well

Visited last week on the recommendation of a neighbour who works in Beaumaris. my wife had baked potato with tuna and a large very fresh salad. Not the usual lettuce, tomato, cucumber combo, more the kind you get in portugul or greece. I had steak, chips and loads of salads. There was a slight wait but the chef explained that when the orders were taken as all food is cooked to order. 2nd visit tonight to find it was steak night. Nice little find and will be letting friends know. Really beautifully cooked and well presented meals. never going to break the budget - cheaper than we thought it would be but no cheapness where portion control is concerned

I have had a couple of meals that Steve the chef at the Bold Arms has cooked and can honestly say they are some of the best I have ever eaten. Everything is cooked fresh. Nothing frozen or out of packets. I know whenever I visit Wales in future I will definitely be paying a visit to the Bold Arms. Steve is a happy bouncy full of life young man and nothing is to much trouble. He definitely takes pride in his work. Beaumaris is a beautiful place to visit too. Our first visit to The Bold Arms, this was the opening night for the kitchen. They haven't done food for a few years and we were looking forward to a meal that didn't cost a fortune like most other places in Beaumaris. The portions of beautifully cooked and well presented food were huge, delicious and well priced. Everything is cooked fresh. It made a change to have the option of choosing anything on the menu in a child's size portion rather than the normal burger and chips, beans and chips, sausages and chips that seems to be the standard across the UK. There were 9 of us including 3 children eating a variety of food. All of it was really nice Nice bright. clean pub, nice atmosphere, nice welcome from the landlady and the locals despite what other reviews have said but they were old posts.Highly recommend

Not a place to go to if you want friendly service and an enjoyable evening. This place is full of local people who don't seem to want anyone else drinking there. Steer clear and drink at the Bull around the corner instead.

The original reason for going into this pub was to watch the Community Shield match between Arsenal and Manchester City, but as they served food too, we decided to kill two birds with one stone.We were informed by the landlord that they'd just started serving food in the last week and at present it's just simple bar food. It seemed like a reasonably extensive menu for "just starting" and covered salads as well as the usual staples of burgers and chips. The prices were pretty reasonable and the food was above average for pub grub, so it's a good start.Before the match started, the pub started to fill up and there was a good mixture of Arsenal and City fans, as well as some neutrals. The atmosphere was good throughout, although I suspect the landlord, dressed in his Arsenal shirt, was a lot happier with the match result than I was!
