Best fish and chips on Anglesey - freshly cooked, pipping hope, superb quality, just go! We went twice and would happily have gone every day!

We had large fish & chips, which were cooked freshly to order. Succulent fish in a crisp, thin batter & chips which were crisp on the outside & fluffy on the inside, neither were greasy. Tasted great & we throughly enjoyed them, we will come back next time we’re in Anglesey. Competitively priced with other chippy’s in the area & the service was friendly. Well worth a visit.

Visited twice last week. Lovely freshly cooked to order cod & chips. Tasty and fresh, fish a little thin but nice batter. Great service and many people were dining in the good sized seating area which is a great facility. Good range of meal options.

Delicious meal, freshly cooked to order. We chose to eat in. Very good value. Excellent and friendly service. There’s something really great about British fish and chips when they’re done well. Would especially recommend for overseas visitors to experience an authentic and delicious traditional meal.

The best fish and chips in North Wales!

Called here for fish and chips. Asked for haddock for 2 and it wasn’t a problem. The best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time. The fish was meaty and the batter nice and thin and crisp. If we weren’t going home tomorrow, I’d definitely be back there!

First night of holidays and decided on fish and chips. They were delicious. The fish was cooked to perfection. The batter was thin and crispy. Fully recommend

Lovely waitress! Very accommodating, food came out really quickly, chips were perfectly cooked, batter was perfectly crisp!

Didn't give an Atmosphere review because the seating section was just closing, and we were the only ones seated. The fish and chips were perfect, also Steak pie was very tasty. Also had the spicy curry sauce, I need the recipe 😋

Real good fish and chips. Has been under new ownership recently. There is no special menu, only what comes from the Fryer. Eat in , eat out, or take away. Also order for pick up.

Popped in whilst on our travels around the coast and came across this chippy, best chips I've had in a good while and that's saying something as North Wales serves some of the best in GB. Well done, we'll be back

Excellent fish & chips, very busy & considering that the service is excellent. Fish is in a nice crispy batter, chips are lovely & the mushy peas even better. My husband tells me the curry sauce was really good. There is outside seating. I would recommend a visit.

Had lunch on Bank holiday Monday. Very tasty chip barm and curry, son has cheese and onion pie. Others had jacket potatoes, small fish for kids. Overall a lovely lunch. Staff were very friendly. We are takeaway on the benches outside but there is an indoor menu too. Inside was very clean and good toilets too!

We've tried a lot of chop shops on Anglesey but this is the best. Delicious, fresh and hot. Fish was lightly battered abd bit greasy at all. Chips so light and fluffy. Staff friendly and great service. Really a great choice.........!

Came here with high expectations. "Best fish and chips on Anglesey"I was told. You know what to expect when you hear that - Big steak of fish in crunchy batter. Crunchy chips. Charming atmosphere and staff... This place is a grey plastic house in a concrete yard by a road. Staff as gloomy as the fish is limp. The food also tastes like overused oil. Sorry to be a downer but fish and chips is a national dish and done well it's a joyful art, done badly it needs to be called out.

Family of 15 looking for a chip shop on a very wet teatime, and we’re welcomed to eat in at two long tables. We were served quickly with freshly cooked chips, fish burgers sausages and even jacket potatoes with cheese and beans! Everything was freshly made and hot. The service was friendly and quick. We can definitely recommend Coastal Cafe Moeller! great chippy tea!!

I go to the Coastal Cafe in Moelfre on a regular basis and I am never disappointed!! The food is always of excellent quality, crispy batter - what more could you ask for! The staff are always polite and friendly - I can highly recommend a visit - you won't be disappointed!!

It was one of the tastiest fish I've ever eaten. I can't say it was the best with fries but I also can't say it was bad. You should also try the spicy curry sauce.

It was that good that we went 4 times in a week! All our purchased were fresh, tasty and well portioned. No complaints at all. Staff also great, it is busy and they are rushed off their feet. Special mention for the young lady with long dark hair (originaly from Ilford!) who was particularly efficient. Definitely going back when we are in the area next year. Tip - eat your takeaway down on the stoney beach at Moelfre.

Came on a mid week evening. We had a great pie and chips tea x 2. Good value, good service. Pies were good quality with good pastry.

We only had coffee here but it was a great atmospheric place, lots of people chatting or watching the sea with boats, there's a lovely view across the water and the beach he's soft sand with a few sand dunes just after you get off the track, the car park is reasonably priced and sea when it's in is fairly shallow and lost of rock pools when it's out.

Not sure what others got served, underwhelming fish average chips.

Fantastic food and service. Ate inside the cafe and had the large special, haddock, chips and peas with bread and butter and a pot of tea. Lovely!

Stood there 10 minutes completely ignored. Served a guy who just came in even though I'd been stood there waiting for ages over me then told him the chips would be 10 minutes. Walked out. Joke of a service.

The fish and chips at Coastal Café are immaculate. You can't do better and there's no point looking 😉 A bit on the pricey side but well worth the money given the quality and location being a 3 minute walk to the beach.

Loved this place absolutely loved it. The best fish and chips I've had in ages. We sat inside to eat which is spotless by the way. Fantastic service even when very busy. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Keep it up people 👍👍👍

Think it was expensive and chips were dry, and alot were not plump in my portion, the other persons better

We chose fish and chips. The fish itself was OK but the batter was oily. The chips were rubbery and we left most of them. The ordering system means that no-one gets fresh chips. They are cooked in bulk first and left in the heated drawer whilst the fish are cooked elsewhere while you wait. Everyone has to wait. We had fish and chips 2 days later in the Kinmel Arms which were delicious. Go there instead. Costs more but worth it. Not

We went for a family lunch we ordered Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas and Curry sauce. Large Sausage and Chips and Mexican Burger with Chips and Mushy Peas. The food was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Good food & reasonably priced. 2 mins walk from the town free car park. We ate in the cafe part but is also a takeaway. Picnic tables outside & big car park.

When you look at the reviews for this chippy, they will either be very good or very bad. I have been for fish and chips here many times and I can say they serve the best fish and chips on the Island with generous portions. I can only conclude that the negative comments are malicious as my fish and chips have always been perfectly cooked, never cold or greasy or lacking flavour. If you go to any good chippy in the holiday season there may be a big queue and it will be obvious it may take a while to be served, so get real and don't moan about it.

We are in Benllech for a 2-week stay three times a year. Experience has shown which Fish & Chip shops are to be avoided, and which is very much our "go to" chippy. (I first reviewed this business 2 years ago and mine and my wife's views have not changed.) The Coastal Cafe has never disappointed and the new owners are bettering their predecessors hands down. Excellent fish quality and the batter is thin and crispy. The chips are done fresh, no re-heats here, and the service is very attentive. I had the Medium Cod, my wife had the Plaice. Both also included Bread & Butter, which we didn't need. I can see what I believe to be a "dirty tricks" review on here and I find that very sad. We will definitely be back for more before going home, and we will be here again in July and September for more! I wish the new owners every success in the business, and hope the competitors desist with the false reviews.

Not a good experience taking into account the cost The fish batter was burnt, and the chips were stuck together Peas not impressive either Heard this shop has changed hands - not for the better in my experience Will use the chippie in Benllech from now on, as who wants to pay top prices for a burnt meal It might help if the fryer actually stayed by the fryer whilst the food cooked, instead of wandering off constantly - food does burn if overcooked

Fish and chips were ok, not the best we've had but far from the worst Told we needed to wait out in the cold despite lots of room being available inside, strange system and also applied inconsistently. Was also told to keep the door open so we could hear order, when another guest promptly shut it!. Would suggest you get clear on what problem you're trying to solve (overcrowding) and workshop your policy a bit 😉

Best battered fish on Anglesey. Worth a planned stop while driving the island.

We have been coming to this chippy for the last seven years and have always had lovely food. Unfortunately this year we have found a dip in the standard of food, chips are like scraps, not tasty at all, mini fish is ridiculously small even for a child. Curry pots have a huge dent in the bottom so not the portion you think you are getting. Not sure we will visit again as there are other chip shops with good reviews in other villages so will try one of them next time. Considering the cost of a chippy tea these days. You need to be getting good value for your money.

Very friendly and busy. Even though the sit down area was not open, they allowed us to sit there with our takeaway meals. Food was excellent.

USED to be fantastic not anymore its not worst chips ive ever had fish was ruined soggy batter but a dry fish inside it was so bad my wife dave crying on her way home we were left in shock

Very expensive, in fact probably the most expensive chip shop I’ve seen. Walked in seen the ridiculous prices and walked straight back out. I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s done this! I feel sorry for the locals who have to put up with these silly prices. Obviously all aimed at tourists.

We had cod, chips, and curry sauce, it was amazing, cod was generous in size,fresh, tasty and batter light and crispy, chips were great, no scraps, and spicy curry sauce was delicious. Service was friendly, and our order was dealt with promptly. There was plenty of room to sit out on a hot summer day. Can't fault it, look forwards to going again.

Was recommended this cafe by a local.....! disappointed with our meal, fish and chips shouldn't be hard to dish up when repeatedly made..... fish was ok, batter was greasy and a bit soggy, far too many chips, half the amount would be suffice, better if they were properly cooked. Wouldn't call again......

Just not good enough for the price. Fish was small unless you opt for a large one, other fish and chip shops would serve the large cod at this price, not charge a premium for it. Fish was greasy and chips soggy but we're at least hot, good portion of chips but I think this is to fill up your tray and compensate for the small fish

Absolutely terrible, what has happened to this cafe? Food was overpriced, greasy, oversalted. Staff were unhelpful, miserable and just generally not bothered. They don't even serve food on plates anymore, just cardboard boxes and cardboard cups, yet the prices more reflect a good restaurants prices

So disappointed! Have a holiday home in Moelfre and come here occasionally for a treat. This has gone from the best Chippy on Angelsey to one of the worst, and after today's visit it will be our last. We paid over £33 for 2 undersized, over salted, very greasy fish, 1 anaemic pie, 1 large chips, curry, gravy and a couple of coffees. Ate in. Food arrived in take away cardboard boxes, coffees in cardboard cups. No cutlery was offered, our request for a few more sugers was ignored. No teaspoons out so asked for them, apparently they don't have teaspoons so was offered a 3" wooden chip fork to stir our 6" cups, I declined and got a desert spoon (the last 1) out of the cutlery tray. Asked for serviettes as none were offered and there were none out, waited another few minutes for these. This fish was dripping with grease and used multiple serviettes to absorb as much as possible, but ended up having to leave batter as it was so greasey and so oversalted, it was just inedible. The girl serving acted like she really didn't want to be there, and wasn't helpful or welcoming. What a shame, it used to be a lovely, welcoming place with reasonably priced, great quality food. We won't be returning.

Food The chips were over cooked, by that I mean they looked like they had been cooked several times. The peas were so dry they came out of the carton in one lump Toliets The men's had no light bulb, so you couldn't see the pool on the floor and no soap no towels

We have been in Anglesey for 6 months now, and tried all the chippy's within the Benllech area, this was the last one to try and what a complete disappointment. The chips where dry, tasteless and a lot of bits, the fish was very greasy and came with a puddle of oil at the bottom of the tray and the peas I will not even try to compare. Once tried and never again. Also the most expensive.

Very tasty, great cod, crispy batter, mushy peas are top notch. Nice flavour in the chips. Not greasy. Calamari well worth getting, very crispy batter. Mini Fish perfect for a child. Overall I can't fault it! Leave plenty of time if you're in a rush as you might find a queue.

We asked for cod but the fish we were given was not cod it was haddock which is 'meatier' and more chewy than cod.
