My partner booked this place for my 30th, as a little seaside escape, the location was lovley! the service and room was ok. We stayed in Room 8, it was nice and clean, The bathroom was lovley, the water pressure was very powerful. The mattress did not seem very comfortable, you could hear and feel the springs when lying on it. when the room next to us used their bathroom facilities, it made the pipes in our room make all kinds of loud noises, which woke us up in the middle of the night and early in the morning. I would also advise black out curtains/blinds for a better undisturbed sleep. Also it was a little odd, that after the first night, we had our room tidied without being made aware or having the opportunity to decline the service at check in. We had our laptop and many other valubles on show. Some places have signs that you put on the door handle if you dont want your room cleaned/disturbed etc etc. We arrived early on the monday, and happily waited in the bar until the room was ready, the young man and lady who served us had the room ready earlier than expected which was nice and they seemed pleasant. Overall, the stay was ok but there are a few room for improvements. -Mattress -Blackout curtains/Blinds -Check water pressures/pipes as this could be an added cause to all the noise. - Do not disturb signs, or communicate with guests at check in if we want bedroom cleaned during stay. -Bedroom TV could do with upgrade, most places have smart TVs now, as they are very affordable. Thank you for your time.

Excellent location staff should concentrate as much and visitors as they do on regulars

One cannot question the location and the view. Absolutely stunning. Service was a little hap-dash... When my wife asked for a dessert she was told that the kitchen was closed. We then witnessed another table ordering dessert. I asked if we could order a dessert and we were brought over the menu?!. We stayed for 3 nights and the real ale ran out. After the 1st night. Unfortunate timing I suppose due to the excellent weather. I couldn't work out how anyone could watch the TV as our clothes covered the screen. But we always take our tablets to watch stuff anyway. We would go back as location rules but will opt to use other restaurants.

Had the best meal at The Gazelle Hotel while we were in Wales for 5 days. A wonderful view and a very warm welcome from all the staff. Many thanks and we'll definitely be back when we visit Wales again !

We had a one night stay here and was perfect for a quick stop over! Can't comment on long stay or food as we literally slept and went. Does exactly what it says on the tin... Clean, friendly, rooms are ok.. showers decent, bed fairly comfortable but I'm not used to sleeping in a single bed. Would definatly stay here again and priced fairly!

Went out to celebrate a birthday. Despite how hard work 2 members of my party were the staff were patient and helpful. I hope I gave them a big enough tip to make up.

Stopped for a Sunday Lunch, was to be Roast Lamb. What a surprise to be informed, they did not have any ‘Mint Sauce’.

We stayed here originally planning to drop our stuff off and go out and see the area . Quaint little driveway down to the parking place with amazing view's, mountains, sea etc etc. Everything one could wish for ! 📷 ( We walked on the pier across the water before arriving and could see the hotel from there what was a nice touch ) Super clean rooms, hot/modern showers . Nice atmosphere . We went to Beaumaris for a bag of chips and a quick pint, headed back to the hotel and spent the night there sampling some fine ales and ate in too. Would recommend staying here. A summer visit would be even finer ( storms when we visited )

Just spent a couple of days here - can't recommend it highly enough. Stunning location, beautiful, comfortable rooms, and incredible food. But what really makes it are the people: a really cheerful, competent team who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We'll definitely be back: hopefully without the rain next time!

It’s all about the location. Fantastic views, Bangor pier opposite & the Menai Bridge in the distance. Skip the hotel car park & carry on about 2 seconds towards Beaumaris, where there is a right hand turn that takes you down to the front of the pub.

Really nice place to stay. A warm friendly welcome on arrival and a well stocked bar. The room was really nice with tasteful decor. The one improvement I think is really quite necessary is the shower pressure. It was genuinely a struggle to get clean the pressure was so low. The breakfast was wonderful with beautiful views out onto the water. Really top notch food with friendly service. All in all I would be reluctant to stay for a full week due to the shower. I would stay for a night or two again though.

Extremely inconsistent with the food offered. We ordered pulled pork nachos with guacamole and melted cheese and we were served nachos with processed squeezy cheese and processed guacamole instead. Not nice and not the standard expected from La Gazelle, a real disappointment.

Fantastic location on the Menai Straits opposite Bangor pier. Small restaurant areas and nice outdoor areas. Gets busy in the summer, but that's to be expected as it's one of the best locations on the straits.

If waking up to the incredible view doesn't blow you away, then try the food because that will, made even better by the first class staff. Book a room while you can because this is the place to be this summer. I'll be back!

We tried this when we were holidaying nearby. We ate there one evening and ended up going back the next evening, having enjoyed it so much. Went mid week off season so wasn't especially busy. Food (and beer) was really good and priced fairly. The staff were concientious, polite and took time to talk to us when they weren't busy. Its a lovely building in a spectacular location. The landlord was kind enough to show me round and he clearly loves the place and intends to make it even better than it is now. I particularly love the way it has been lit and furnished. Thanks for your hospitality.

A gem of a pub. Our absolute favourite on the island. Have had some brilliant times in this original old pub. The guys that run it are warm and welcoming, and they have music nights where you can mingle with the musicians and even play along. There's also a jukebox and pool table in the younguns side. And a toasty warm fire burning at the back. Our only regret is that we didn't visit even more often!

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.

Having been walking the Anglesey Coastal Path for many years, my wife and I have dropped on umpteen noteworthy eating establishments. Banc rates up there with the best. Whether it be the the quality of the food, or the really good value, or the jovial quality of a happy man running his own cafe. In 70 miles of walking it is the only one we have had lunch at, then returned for afternoon tea, then had lunch again the next day. We enjoyed the quality (homemade quiche & sausage roll trice), the value, and especially the welcome. And I appreciate Staffordshire crockery. It is not actually on the Coastal Path, or even by the sea front. It is maybe 10 minutes away, with an interesting walk up the high street. But it is so worth seeking out. While we were there we got the impression it was well patronised by locals, which should be a recommendation in itself. I have just been telling 2 other families, coming to Anglesey how to find it. On a practical point, dogs are welcome in the garden. So obviously not when it is raining, but also after inclement weather when it is still unacceptable under foot (paw ?) We expect to call when we do the next bit of the Coastal Path.
