Sunday lunch out. Food was very well cooked and presented. Price was ok due to the high quality of the food. Decent amount of drink options but only 1 ale. Very friendly staff, clean premises and if the weather is good, plenty of out door seating. Dog and child friendly. We didn't camp there but the facilities looked good and quite cheap.

Had a fantastic meal on Friday. Curry night + food for kids....also chicken for the two dogs. Went one afternoon to get a beer but was shut....then the owner Heidi i think that is her name, said come on in and let us have a couple of beers. Love the menu, just the right balance. Thank you gor looking after us,the kids and the pooches. Would go back again. Worth the six hour drive. Heidi dont work yourself to the wall. Its a gold mine. A perfect balance. Find someone you trust and sit back a little. I have been in the same place. X Thank you.

We dropped in on Sunday lunchtime after walking along the canal, it was recommended by the owner of our holiday cottage. Although we hadn’t booked we were welcomed alongside our dog and shown where there were tables available. I was recommended a Welsh cider, delicious but over 6% so just had the one, my husband had a couple of pints of a local beer. To eat we had the beefburger and falafel burger, both with chips and salad and we both enjoyed our food. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful, would definitely visit again if in the area.

Always visited this pub when passing through Llanrug with friends and tonight I drove out of my way to have a meal there. I phoned to reserve a table and specifically asked for a cod meal. Staff obliging saved one for me. Came quickly and beautifully presented. First mouthful didn't taste right but I carried on breaking it up and tasting bits. Parts cold and rubbery/uncooked. Other dinners saw me smelling it on a couple of occasions. Waitress noticed that I'd left it and asked if it was ok but I said I couldn't eat it and explained why. She removed it and didn't return. 1.5hrs later I've had serious upset stomach so I phoned them to complain (something I've never done anywhere) but they'd had my money and didn't want to know. They said I'd eaten it all and yet said he'd tasted it 🤮 after me. 🤮. How unhygienice of him. Customer service missing, never to return 🤮

The food is AMAZING! Even the chips are the best I've ever tasted!...And then there's the Crab Roll..DELICIOUS and sooo worth the trek 😋 A must find..A must eat... Enjoy 🦀 We'll be back in 2024 ❤️

ordered a take away last night, drove 20 miles as this place had such a good reputation, but was very disappointed in the meal overall , I ordered Chicken Sagg which is supposed to be spinach, but the meal i was given was a creamy, sweet mild sauce, that was not nice and not what i ordered, the other meal was ok but the chicken very chewy, onion bhajis dry and not so good, rice very nice, and nann very nice, overall nearly £40 for a take away for 2 people very disappointing

We stopped here on the way to Pendine sands. Beautiful venue with amazing views. Staff were incredibly accommodating- especially as we had our 1 year old with us, nothing was too much for the staff and they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Food was generously portioned and delicious, particularly the squid.

Gorgeous spot for breakfast, lovely sunny seating right outside. The breakfasts we had were lovely, but the sausages could have been a slightly nicer quality. The eggs were cooked perfectly, which is a bit of a fine art! Will definitely return.

Stop for a late lunch. Staff average, tomato soup was more like some odd tomato sauce. Cottage pie was more of a mash with some gravy under it. Way too much potato. Chips were average at best. Gave the peas a miss. Much better options about.

Booked table for 2 here for Sunday Carvery. Staff were absolutely awesome! So friendly. However........... Ordered a house red and lager. Red was bitter, tasted cheap, and like it had been opened for days. Lager was flat and tasted awful. We had the beef, which tasted like stewed beef as opposed to roasted. The veg was horrendous. Potatoes, carrots, and peas are all kept in a vat of warm(ish) water, which you have to scoop out and try and drain. Had to wait for about 10 minutes after getting our carvery for the mash to be brought to the table. Stuffing balls were tasteless. Best part was the gravy and Yorkshire pudding! So disappointing because we had heard rave reviews about the carvery here. "Just like your grandmother used to make," it is not!! £9.95 each. Guess you get what you pay for. In future, I'd rather pay the extra and go somewhere like The Buck in Pontlliw or The Bird in Hand in Forest.

Have been coming to this establishment for the past few years now - excellent! To put in context, we travel 30 miles or so to visit and we rate this place as excellent. Excellent service, excellent food and a fantastic friendly environment with lovely staff. I've eaten vegetarian and vegan food all over the UK, particularly Asian produce and I can truly say this is up there with the best, both for quality and price and also authenticity. Would highly recommend.

First experience of these reheatable curries bought frozen from Pugh’s Garden Centre. No indication that the curry would be too hot to be edible ( I don’t usually choose mild curries either ). The heat overpowered all the flavours of three curries, which were bland and had similar spice tastes once you got past the blast of heat. Had to discard most of our curries - also discouragingly expensive though there was admittedly plenty of chicken and lamb in both curries. Please look into why these non madras / vindaloo curries that are medium jalfrezis need to have this amount of heat in the ingredients. Can’t recommend and won’t try again.
