The best restaurants in Carmarthenshire West Wales

Went here for dinner as the reviews were good ..not sure whats happened but the food was terrible it took a long time to be served we waited nearly an hour and the food was cold when it arrived the ketchup and mayonnaise that came with meal had been watered down so much it made the food it touched inedible the steak was mainly fat and the curry had an odd after taste like that had also been watered down . The staff were friendly but unfortunately i wouldnt go back here again

Brilliant seafood for starters. Cosy atmosphere and great service. Varied menu and tasty pub grub, nice cold beer and soft drinks. Definitely recommend the chips as they are very crispy. We enjoyed our meal in the private den watched over by a giant grizzly bear. Will be visiting again soon.

Dog friendly with beautiful decor. Very warm And welcoming staff that were very attentive. The food was fantastic and very generous servings. Highly recommend by me.

Always a great welcome, great course, great layout and a fantastic well stocked pro shop.

While staying for a short period in the area, we looked on line for a nice restaurant and a his seemed to fit the bill. We were very pleased with our visit. The reception was friendly and not at all pretentious. It is not a large place, perhaps no more than 30 covers and although we made reservations, it was fairly quiet mid-week. Our starter was hummus but strangely we had to order accompaniments separately. Not particularly substantial but we enjoyed our main courses of chicken and salmon. Both well prepared and presented. There is is a choice of generous side dishes which made for a substantial meal. Prices are very reasonable.

THIS PLACE HAS GONE WAY DOWN HILL . Awful food. 😖 , chips tasted like they were 5 days old. The food was bland. , and the pancake roll was swimming in Grease. I mean swimmin. , turned me sick 😫 👎

No living in the area we though we would go out for a meal at a nearby location we found what we thought was a decent location for a meal, but unfortunately, we inadvertently became entangled in a conversation filled with right-wing rhetoric. This unfortunate experience marred what should have been a special day, and when we shared our concern with the staff, they disappointingly disregarded our complaint entirely. It is disheartening that as paying customers, we were not provided with a more welcoming atmosphere, and it is clear that the shocking content of the conversation should not have reached our ears. We strongly suggest avoiding this particular location. If you value treating everyone equally, I would advise against visiting this location. Our meal, consisting of Gammon served with chips, a fried egg, peas, and coleslaw, was unfortunately overshadowed by the unpleasant experience of overhearing right-wing rhetoric. The staff, rather disappointingly, displayed a lack of concern regarding the situation. While I am unsure what this particular group called themselves, they identified as the "Voice of Wales." It is disheartening that such individuals failed to uphold a welcoming and inclusive environment. My partner was scared that they would hear her voice so she kept quite through out. We left never to return.

A delightful pub/restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. The menu has great choices and the portion sizes are very generous at reasonable prices. The staff were pleasant and attentive. Highly recommended.

Superb food all locally sourced with a great welcome and fantastic staff, menu varied and good value - well worth a visit.

In the bakery and Icecream shop you fall over, of the prices. i bought a small cake for £ 48 it was tasty but very dry. And not special to say wow. So it is there very expensive !!

What a gem Pryd o Fwyd is! We are never disappointed whenever we eat here. Tonight it was whitebait for myself, sun dried tomato, basil and goats cheese risotto for hubby. Mains we had the baked cod with herb and bacon crust, crab mash, carrot and mangetout julienne and a beurre blanc. We ended our meal with a tasty iced passion fruit soufflé with coconut shortbread. This was washed down with a lovely portugese red. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We are so lucky to have this restaurant on our own doorstep and especially as the menu is refreshed regularly so lots of opportunity to try new dishes as well as revisit some old favourites. A party for my partners 40th birthday, there were 21 of us for a meal, we had a fantastic night, food was amazing. Rob and Paul were great throughout the build up to putting up the banners, keeping in contact through email, and generally keeping me stress free,,, thank you, will see you again soon

Had a toasted sandwich, which was lovely, plenty of filling and toasted to perfection. The best chips I've ever had in a café before. Lovely, friendly staff.

Had a two course lunch consisting of burger, chips slaw and Jam sponge with custard. The burger was OK but could have been a bit hotter. The jam sponge was quite dry and nothing special. Despite these criticism the burger tasted very good and we ate all of it. The ambience was also very good and service was quick and friendly. Would recommend.
