The best restaurants in Gwynedd North Wales

Called at the Y Wal without a booking the kind waitress found us a table for 2. Black pudding with goats cheese and chorizo starters extremely tasty best black pudding I ever tasted . Tropical pizza to share was equally as good Very professional and polite staff . In fact it was that good I went back for breakfast Sunday morning excellent. Highly recommended

We were really impressed with this restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was great too. There were 9 of us on a last minute booking and we couldn’t have picked a better place to eat. We would highly recommend!

We visited out of season at a quiet time. We were the only group in the restaurant but we got good friendly treatment. Food was good and we had a lovely time. A couple of the party went back for a drink on the bar and reported it was friendly and an enjoyable evening

Often stop here for lunch with the Motorcycle Group and I have to say they really are the Best Fish and Chips around. Well done Nick and Team. (Ponderosa Cowboys) Martin

We visited at the new location in the Macdonald resort. The food was wonderful, the hospitality outstanding and the new restaurant was beautiful

we were here on a cold February lunchtime. The coffee is good but the food is only OK and quite a lot of it seems to be left out in the open. The food ordering process is ridiculous and unnecessarily time-consuming. The dining area, despite a stove, wasn't warm nor, I thought, particularly comfortable.

Very good food, the service was quite good, wasn’t too keen on the pudding or wine i had but all round very nice place with reasonable prices and a good atmosphere.

This fitted us perfectly whilst travelling on a Thursday night. Just off the Caernarfon by pass. Lovely welcome and service great throughout. We were the only ones in but several takeaways went out. Poppadoms and pickles good. Cobra beer very welcome ! Veg samosa was excellent - little bit of spice to it. Mixed tandoori grill was great as well. Loads of different meat with lots of flavour. Tried the wife’s chicken tikka masala- again excellent especially with peshwari naan. Well worth trying this place.

We took advantage of the bubbles, dinner and breakfast option for the hotel and were not disappointed. That was a bit British - let me rephrase; it was awesome, from start to finish. Hotel porters offered to drive us to the hotel from the carpark but we preferred to walk down, through the village that had enchanted my Wife from her first visit 40 years ago. Ended up with far too many pictures. The hotel was welcoming, plenty of cosy seating and private areas with roaring log fires. Room looked out onto the estuary and the shortbread at the coffee station was top notch. Went down to dinner, was welcomed, sat in the bar area with our bubbles and a lovely pre-starter. We chose wine and directed to our seats. Great food, excellent service, very happy wife. I don't typically like this sort of thing, but was really special. would recommend. Sunday breakfast was excellent, nice to see the familiar service staff from the night before. Good choice of continental, I had the full Welsh, the mushroom was especially tasty. We finished the trip with a woodland walk and the porters ran us up to the carpark in a souped up golf cart.

Food ok average but the service was TERRIBLE. Not the waitresses fault. The kitchen seemed to be oblivious to how long people were waiting. We waited almost 2 hours to get our mains. Won’t go again - life is too short!

¡Por fin! Tengo una mesa. Comida, servicio y ambiente genial. Definitivamente irá más. Los asientos son bancos de madera en la planta baja que son prácticos pero no cómodos. Los baños son una experiencia increíble.

This was a great find for us. We also stayed in the rooms upstairs, which are also great value, clean and spacious. We had dinner at the Inn and there was an excellent selection with what they showed as Daily Specials. All the food was good and the servers were very helpful and friendly. Atmosphere wa great the night we were there as it was busy. There is a smaller separate bar as well. We also had lunch, a sandwich and drink, also very good.

Staff were so kind and arranged a table for us and our little pup outside. So kind and thoughtful; food was instant and amazing. 10/10 thank you!

Sunday roast. The food was excellent but the only downfall was we asked for extra cauliflower cheese as priced extra and not received. Vegetables a bit late after being served with the meat and roast potatoes. One served with no roast potatoes and have to ask for them. Just little points that be looked into.😢
