Just had fish and chips to take out, absolutely sublime you will not be disappointed. Will definitely be going there again soon

The cafe looked so warm and inviting from the outside so I went in, was really impressed. Friendly welcome from the smart white coated staff , I was impressed by the retro feel of the cafe, it was like stepping back in time. Had a coffee and a cake which came to less than £2.50 which was amazing value for money. Later discovered that the cafe was over 100 years old, a real hidden gem and well worth a visit/ support of this quality local business. Will return on my next visit to Rhyl!

This has just been taken over and is now called Lucky Phoenix. I am a truck driver who passes by and regularly stops in the village for food. Since the new owners have taken over, in my opinion it’s not good. Won’t ever stop again.(Steve you are solely missed)

What a great place for a party. Superb venue, excellent food and great service. Couldn’t have asked for more.

The location is a little challenging to get to, and the food is delicious. There is a lot of good scenery, and a climbable mountain that provides spectacular views of the surrounding area

We ordered a ‘take away’ & collected it. Pretty much the only decent thing about it was that the meal was ready on time. We ordered a banquet for 2 plus extras as there were three of us dining. If you’re going to provide tiny portion sizes at least make sure that the quality is good!! All I’m going to say at this juncture is that the crispy duck (crispy duck with pancakes) was just like it had been deep fried yuck - I don’t even care that the portion was small, but make it decent. As for the crispy chilli beef 😂 tough, tough, tough, joke. There’s more, but what’s the point. Maybe they had a bad day at the office ‘restaurant’, who knows, but at my expense as it wasn’t even cheap - I will certainly not be visiting any time soon.

Not open on a Sunday unfortunately but overall would recommend!!

If I could i wouldn’t even give the service one star, absolutely appalling, We turned up at 2pm and asked for a table they said they aren’t taking walk ins (despite the place being empty) okay fair enough, went back out and looked online to book for there next availability to our surprise 2:15 was available so was 2:30 and 2:45 and so on, so we booked online and went back in, said we’ve booked now and was greeted with “you’ve gone out and booked to come back in defeats the object of not having walk ins” we asked what his problem was he replied saying how he has so many bookings!. The place was empty, the online booking system showed full availability No idea if it was due to the way we were dressed (chilled day home cleaning decided to have dinner out) because we were lesbian couple with baby, or maybe he just didn’t like the look of us, either way will never be returning

Drinks are reasonably priced, nice service and the beer garden is next to the river and is stunning.

Best Chinese food I've ever eaten! Great staff, great atmosphere and the price was reasonable.

We had booked a table for 10 people last night at the red lion. The food was lovely, plenty of it. The service was very good. Overall a very nice place to eat out.

£3.80 small chips not very nice half of the chips hard not my cup of tea no staff to run cafe no forks
