Food quality has deteriorated over time small fish hard chips will Ride up the pass again but eat in pub down the road.

In great need of a make over inside!

We have always planned to come here in the summer on the Motorbike, but by chance we were close enough while on holiday so made the trip up, great cafe and service on a cool November day, this place must get packed in the summer with bikes and tourists, great views and roads.

What a wonderful place, breakfast was awesome such good value, the team was wonderful & couldn't do enough for us. They coped amazingly well when 2 coaches of crinklies turned up for tea & cake :-) Then you can go outside & see the fantastic views over the valleys.

Quick stop for breakfast. Nice to have a choice of foods for full breakfast and the bacon bap was like a bin lid.

A biker's watering hole but all welcome. The views, subject to weather, are spectacular and the walks equally so. Food is cafe style, pies, fish, pasties with chips etc and portions well sized and priced. Worth a drop in.

Fantastic as usual I'm lucky enough to only live 5 miles or so from the ponderosa fantastic place and views love it kind staff and excellent food

Best Pasty and Chips. Hot chocolate is the best even though it is from a machine. Cart dor ice cream too 😋

A good place to stop and have a break at the top of the Horseshoe Pass. Good food and drink available and fab views all around. Good parking.

Arrived at 3.40 and it it push button drink service.they were cleaning down which is fair enough but at 3.50 they made us well aware they were shutting soon by turning the lights off. We got the hint and left.

Fairly decent sausage batch but could have been better

Lovely cafe staff very friendly, good range of food and the prices are good. Tea£1.20 coffee £2.00 cake and pre packed sandwiches also looked nice and prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit. The pictures are from from above the Ponderosa. We had dinner there today very tasty and great portion size. Had veg lasagne and a cheese and brocoli bake definitely recommend

OK so I went there on not the best day weather wise , but the food was good and the service spot on, I'd say most people would go there not just for the food but for the scenery around there which is well worth it. I can imagine that in the summer when the sun is shining, this place will be packed out with cars and bikes. I will return when it's nice and sunny

Called here today 4th October on a coach trip to Llangollen I only had a hot chocolate the staff we re very and the cafe was spotless and nice and clean the scenery was was great

Proper British food, plentiful on the plate and excellent value for money, staff very helpful, respectful, warm and friendly. Service is quick and efficient. Good selection of food and is tasty and freshly made 100% of the time and just what you want and well prepared. The location is stunning and breathtaking, whatever the weather. Well worth a visit - Absolute 5 star!

Came here after a hike soaked through starving for some grub, but the cash machine was broken so the owner gave us our food on the house absolutely amazing service food was incredible and ran by people that have a big heart thank you ponderosa cafe, I will be back!

Popped in to the cafe during a very wet ride out on the bike. Had the steak & ale pie, which was very tasty, and a hot chocolate to warm up.

Wet n windy day,so it's great to ride up here with my mate Ed,, have a chip butty and a cuppa tea. Watching the world fly past!

Staff are really friendly and helpful, food and drinks are great quality and fantastic value, also very clean, outside busy , lots of Bikers , classic cars and tourists , a walk around the car park to see the scenery , you get 2hrs free parking which should be enough time , well worth dropping in ...

Sadly, not what it use to be. Food quality is still good as is the friendliness of the staff. Unfortunately food prices have gone ballistic. Possible due to its the only place to eat. I’ll be taking butties & a flask in future.

Never stayed here, visited many times. Staff are always helpful. Eaten in the past, when we did it was value for money. Unsure today. We walked from Llangollen and just had a drink and rest. Stunning views and location. Will be back.

We only went to the cafe, which was really good. Very busy when we arrived but we got a table quite quickly. The food was good and hot and the service was friendly. Lots of free parking and stunning views.

I've been here regularly and each time never had a problem, parking or getting served. Staff have always been friendly and polite, prices reasonable and food always enjoyable. Toilets for customers too. Great location.

Went for a ride out and decided to try this place. The food is good and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I asked for a runny fried egg and one was done in the kitchen in no time at all. The toilets are a bit on the rough side but overall a decent place to go. Set on the horseshoe pass where the scenery is lovely

We just called in for a bite to eat, its a lovely to stop off, views are amazing on the road out of Llangollen, the food was good and at reasonable prices, staff were very friendly, it's a big place with plenty of seating, worth a visit.

Enormous portions and a fabulous view.

I don't know what more can be said after 4,200 reviews, but the owner literally saved my Dad's life last weekend. My father had a stroke whilst sat having a drink at the Ponderosa, and owner Steve & son rushed him to the hospital because the ambulance would've taken too long. Their quick-thinking and generosity are the reasons I can still talk with my father today. I can't thank you guys enough. 💪🙌🫶👏

Great stop off while out on my bike

There is plenty of choice for food/drink. Could do with a refurbishment as it's quite dated. Massive free carpark for customers. Nice view surrounding the building with free roaming sheep.

Lovely cafe on the pass Plenty of parking available, 2 hours free for customers. Toilets available - non customers 20p donation Drinks and cold/hot food available. Got there at 3pm and they had just stopped serving hot food so just had a drink instead. The food looked nice though and a fair price for the location. Stunning views around the cafe

Disappointed ! Been many times over the years . Took friends on a drive out saying food good and prices good . The food was dry fish and chips , service could be better , chap at till good , young servers for food weak . Prices has jumped for a cafe ! Will give it a miss for future stops on our drive outs .

Had full breakfast and two cappuccinos for £13,, bargain! Great views, nice helpful people, and loads of parking 👍

We had coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate, all tasted very watery. There were 7 people, everyone threw it away.

Good food, perfect for a stop off on journeys, very busy due to the time of year. Situated on the top of the Horseshoe Pass, views spectacular. Parking difficult as we were there at 12:30, and is a very popular stop for people with motorbikes as well as cars, but if you an get in worth it.

Didn't stay there. I just visited for some food and the views.

Very disappointing first trip. It failed to live up to its reputation, and the staff were a bit off when we sat in an area we shouldn't have, despite no signs saying that seated area was closed. Just a fairly basic cafe in my eyes. Might be better at the weekend?

Took the tiger for a spin here, bacon sos and egg bap and a great piece of cake washed down with 2 brews. Great place and a fantastic location.

As a biker I have been wanting to visit for a while. The pass is nice approaching the cafe, parking is free and plentiful. Prices are good, but service could have been slightly quicker. The food was really good and the cafe very clean.

OMG i have used this place (as a great meeting place with fellow bikers) for many years, really only having prepacked sanwiches and coffee on the go. I have used it for a Lunch with my partner....TERRIBLE1 dry fish and chips, dry Lasagne and the cheapest cup of tea ever. Come on people there is i am sure money being made....put some back in and run on Quality not Quantity. People visiting tell it as it is if only to make it better.
