There for lunch. Good ok. Service a bit slow, but it served it's purpose.

Accomodation was good, food was excellent, staff very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend.

The food was fantastic, no complaints from anyone on the table (7 people total). The staff were very friendly and helpful, great service and reasonably priced.

My issue is with Marsdens regional snd head office management. On staying here, the kitchen had not had its food order (possibly forgotten to put through!). Very limited evening meal choice and a poor quality breakfast. I had a full run down of all the failings from the "stand in" manager, who appeared to by trying his best.

Went for a meal , and obviously understaffed as service was very slow. But credit to the staff who were trying their best with a smile as well!

Service slow and staff seem to be under pressure. I suspect they were short staffed.

Check in was very simple and I used the online option. Staff at the reception desk were informative and friendly. The room was lovely and clean and the discoloured pillow case was quickly removed and replaced. The external laundry company was informed about the pillow case. Breakfast was lovely, I chose the continental followed by the small English. The location was good as I was travelling from the East and then onto Denbigh. I did not stay in the main hotel building this time but the annex right next door was excellent. Check out was completed online and there was a keycard drop off box at the front internal doors at the annex to help speed up the process.

Very poor for a pre-ordered family Christmas lunch. First mistake was not having one of the orders, "blame the suppliers. Despite having weeks of warning. Secondly, missing allergy advice. Thirdly missing a whole meal, after two members of staff were told, they finally brought it out when others were more than halfway through. Forthly, missing allergy advice again over desserts. Although they removed the mistakes from the final bill, the incompetence ruined what should have been a pleasant family meal. Avoid.

Excellent food, great staff all pleasant and couldn't do enough for you, good sized rooms with comfy beds.

We didn’t realise breakfast finished at 10.00 Was repeatedly told by staff we should have read the small print when we booked. Our point was it would have been nice before they started clearing away that they came and let us know. Positive note the cooked breakfast was good.

Had meals here the last five times we have visited family in the area. The last couple of times it has slipped. Ordered a pie and two sunday lunches but parts of the meals where missing, had to ask where vegetables and stuffing where. The waitress said that was how the meals came but when we challenged this and looked on a menu it clearly showed items missing so she finally brought us the right items in a small bowl . This time 14th December 2024 at 4:30pm, we ordered two signature burgers and a fish and chips. Very small portions so we went to an Aldi nearby to buy sandwiches afterwards as still hungry. The staff, service and building are all wonderful but the food side has gone down hill. Next time we visit Wales we trying somewhere else which is a shame but for the price we expect better portions.

Shocking Service ! We were a group of eight, booked for a pre-Christmas meal. Booked for 2pm. We waited about an hour for our starters - no exaggeration ! We then had to go and ask for our main courses. During this period, we had noticed some of the staff lounging against the bar and basically skiving. Fortunately for us, we had only booked 2 courses, whereas our friends had yet another long wait for their desserts. So we decided not to waste anymore of our time at the Talardy, but then, even trying to pay was an ordeal, with the member of staff seemingly unable to work out how we pay, and exclaiming out loud "this is why I hate Christmas " in front of paying customers!!!! WE CERTAINLY WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN !!!

Clean and comfy room. The food is adequate and reasonably priced. (Although I was quite surprised to be given sausage and chips when it said sausage and mash on the menu). Overall the Talardy is value for money at this (cheaper) time of year.

Great place to stay, breakfast is good, rooms are clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking spaces and if you want a drink and good pub food then why not stay here 😁

WARNING ⚠️ do not use this place only gave 1 star as couldn't give none , food over cooked and cold lamb kofta ( sausage meat balls ) warm , main dish arrives before starter finished at no point did anyone ask is your meal OK Not recommended give it a wide berth

All good after a hiccup at the start, soon sorted. Food very good, staff lovely and friendly. ♡

Great location and food. Slight mix up as booked table for 8 people online and had text confirming it, but wasn't showing on system when we got there. However they dealt with this swiftly and opened up another part of the restaurant to accommodate us. Overall a great experience even wish the hiccup.

Kayla was super friendly all staff were , food delicious and reasonably priced, beds comfy , clean and quiet surroundings definately stay again

We had an overnight stay on Saturday. It was a great room with a nice clean bathroom, which is always something I'm always fussy about. We had a good meal with family and there were plenty of options to choose from. Breakfast was good too and the prices were really reasonable. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. We had a lovely stay and will come back again.

Very good overall. Staff were excellent and very cheerful, a pleasure to deal with. There were some minor issues (e.g.booked twin room but it was a double) and booking 4 rooms was very difficult online.

Always lovely here. Some parts of the hotel accommodation could use a touch up here and there but otherwise it's a very conveniently placed hotel with lots to do around.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, good value breakfast. Room was missing little touches, no toilet roll holder, storage for clothes very basic, not even a draw. Could understand if it was a confined space, but the room is large.

My stay this time was in the room I preferred. Sadly, part of the air con plant had failed and we were provided an industrial heater. It did the job just fine although quite nosy. The important bit was the bed was perfect. Good night’s sleep 😊. Whilst not essential room cleaning was appreciated. All the staff were friendly as in previous visits.

We booked a few days before coming here, and paid in full in advance. We had been promised a particular room by Michelle on reception, a room which had a separation bedroom for the children. We were all pretty exited on the journey up, only to be told at reception, by Michelle, that although we had paid in advance, and the room had been booked to us, we had been moved... Not once or twice but three times. The room, which we are in at the moment has barely enough room to swing a cat. One room with a double and two singles jammed in. The room is cold but has an industrial fan heater that is too loud to be left on while we sleep. The shower head is black with mould. All in all, a very poor experience and 100% will not come here again and would advise anyone to avoid. An update having been in the room a little longer. 2 very small sachets of sugar for a family of four, two tea bags and 8 sachets of milk, four of which were already torn and leaking milk when picked up. To say we're disappointed is an understatement. Pretty much spoilt our weekend In response to the feedback from the general manager...you should get your facts straight before dismissing our review so easily, or quite simply, stop lying. Whatever notes you've looked at are either made up by yourself or simply wrong. We didn't reserve room 6, we weren't even aware of it until Michelle advised she was booking us into that room as we were coming up for an event with our two young boys. We didn't speak with the reservation team. Each time we contacted yourselves to book, we spoke with Michelle. So either your lying or Michelle is. And again, we didn't reserve that room. It was Michelle who had made the promise that that was the room she was booking us into. On arrival at your hotel, it was Michelle who checked us in, and she had stated that she had booked us into that room, but others had moved us, from one room, to another and to another, and the room we ended up with frankly was below any standard we've experienced before. Secondly, we received no letter or email regarding hot drinks being replenished upon request . Your also missing the point that the facilities and refreshments in the room from the start were not adequate for a family of four. Why should we have to request adequate tea and coffee etc, when the booking was for four and you would have known or at least have an idea of how to stock a room, and let's not forget four of the eight sachets had been ripped and were leaking when we got to the room! And what's the point of an insincere apology, because that's what yours is. Dismissing the review by saying the reservations team took the booking is basically you implying we've made this up. Were not after anything from yourselves, I'm not looking for a refund, but a sincere apology or a phone call to accept that maybe on this occasion you've got things wrong.

Cold roast dinner returned twice, returned and placed in the microwave with the half eaten potatoe still on the plate. Left with paying for starters and drinks no apology. Went next door to the Bod Erw, where food and service was excellent. Would not return to the Talardy.

Stayed there for a week as I was on a course. Lovely hotel and friendly staff.

Fantastic Sunday lunch service and atmosphere was perfect

The Talardy Arms is perfectly placed for a meal when travelling to North Wales. It is far better than going to road side service areas, being immediately next to the roundabout next to the North Wales Expressway Mary and Felicity greeted us and were very attentive. The food was far better than the pub grub found in many pubs. Try the pan fried chicken. In short..... call there Mary will sort your table, food and bill out with a cheerful smile. Great experience. Had nearby food places that were halal (as, unfortunately, restaurant with the hotel was not) Great location, and very friendly and helpful staff. We did breakfast with them and they had a nice variety of options to choose from.

Absolutely shambolic from start to finish. Huge queue to get in - took over 20 minutes despite having a reservation. Ordered a burger and added onion rings as one of the paid extras, only to be served with three of the tiniest ones i've ever seen! (see picture). When I queried this and asked if I could send them back they offered to amend and bring out extras (which was accepted), only for them to try and charge me for an extra portion! Unfortunately, this is just another typical chain restaurant throwing out precisely metered portions of mass-produced and pre-prepared food. Wouldn't mind, if not for the fact that we ended up paying well over £30 per-head for main, desert and a drink each for arguably lower quality food than Wetherspoons where the same would have only been half the price. Sorry but I can't recommend this one.

Gentleman who was serving breakfast needs some lessons in manners and customer service. Won't be returning.we were shown to our table by a lovely lady. Then a bill was given for breakfast. I asked a gentleman serving about the bill. His reply was I have 35 rooms at the hotel and snatched the receipt out of my hand in front of my partner and my son. He said it's upto us to tell staff we had paid. I told him politely we are the customers we don't work here. His attitude was so bad. He needs a lesson in customer service and manners.The other staff were great I must say.I have been to the talardy a few times but this has really put our family off coming back.

Talardy Hotel was a great base for us to explore parts of North Wales this weekend. The family room was plenty big enough for our family of 4. The location was perfect, the room was clean and had everything we needed and our evening meal in the restaurant downstairs was lovely. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful too. All in all we had no issues or complaints - we'd stay again in the future.

Right next to where my carsvan is. Typical pub with food. Bit expensive, nice outside area for sunny days.

Easy to find with plenty of parking. Staff are friendly and good is great. Make sure to bring an extra room fan with you as there is no Aircon for the summer.

Excellent quality for the service and great customer service. It was for a birthday party.

Easy to book on line. Quiet time of day at 345 pm good choice on menus both gluten free and normal. Not rushed. Easy access for wheelchair. Lovely food served hot.

I've been going to the Talardy for quite a few years, and seen many changes. This time we had a couple of meals, Caeser Salad and the Sea Bass. Both were very nice indeed. Really enjoyed them.

Went for lunch at the Talardy. Service was excellent. Very friendly, efficient and professional. Food was nice and bonus of having a 30% off voucher. Check their website for deals

Came here for a family meal recently. I love the aesthetic and the lovely outdoor seating area. There were 8 of us, and we were ignored at the door for ages. Finally we were greeted by the staff who made a bit of a fuss about finding us somewhere to sit even though the place was half empty and it just involved pushing 2 tables together. We didn't mind waiting and just went to get some drinks and sit outside. When we came to check on our table, nobody seemed to know where we had been put so we waiting for another while. Food service was so slow, with multiple staff members walking past us trying to look busy for about 20 minutes before we ordered. We weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks apart from my niece, and her single drink took another 15 min to come and was delivered twice. I ended up going to the bar to get drinks for us, where I was kept waiting for ages as nobody was serving. Eventually a bloke showed up and another staff member tried to give him a ringing phone whilst he was pouring a pint. I'm just not sure what the staff do all day there! There's a real lack of training. The food when it came was pretty average. Eggs on my gammon were like rubber, so overcooked.

The staff were very nice and helpful; however, although the food was very nice, it could be improved a little and portions could be a little bigger (we had extra stuffing balls at a cost of £1.29 and received two, very hard little balls). We are aware that there is new management (who is/are very welcoming and friendly) and wish them every success moving things forward. It didn’t spoil our trip and the accommodation was prefect and good value 👍🏻 Thank you.

We stopped for food on the way back home, this is the second time we have been and wasn't dissapointed, staff were excellent with service, small blip with my meal but was rectified with no problem, would recommend for food and service 5***** thank-you

It was terrible poor value for my money

Great location, mediocre breakfast, terrible coffee, great staff - not enough of them though. Kitchen struggled evening and morning.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was in the lodge and was a family room. It was spacious enough and there were 2 extra beds put up for us which was great. Room had everything we needed including tea/coffee facilities, glasses, toiletries and extra pillows and towels. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was reasonably priced and we all enjoyed what we ordered. Staff were really good with the kids. Only a couple of negatives; bathroom could do with a bit of fine tuning...part of the skirting board looked a bit rotten and discoloured (probably water damage). We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but tried to order a couple of coffees at the bar which we were told they couldn't do as the breakfast service was running. We found this pretty odd and it wasn't ideal. EV chargers in the car park could do with an extra bay as there are 4 charger cables and only 3 bays.

Brilliant night’s stay, a big thank you to John for looking after me. I rolled in after 8pm after a long and wet day of cycling, and was quickly looked after. The room was great, comfy bed and a hot shower, what more could you want?! Also nice to have an 11am checkout, able to sleep in and not feel rushed. If I’m ever back in St Asaph I know where I’ll be heading!

Lovely, friendly,helpful staff. Good food and drink at reasonable prices,cooked breakfast very good. Room was ,spacious, exceptionally clean, and quiet. Tea and coffee making facilities,with tea and coffee provided. Lovely towels and Soap provided Bed was very comfortable with additional pillows provided Air con and TV.

Arrived at 6pm on a Sunday. Table of 5 people. No hello, no smiles. Plenty of staff but no acknowledgment. Eventually someone spoke to us and took us to our table. Tried to buy a drink and I was sternly told it was table service. Waited 40 minutes for anyone to serve us, it wasn’t busy. Ordered drinks (which we are still waiting for as I write this) we were given a list of food that wasn’t available which was most stuff. One poor woman working her socks off trying her best. The others…not sure and not polite. Definitely do not waste your time and money coming here. You have been warned!

Went there for a meal using their special offer of 30%off main meals. My wife had feta cheese and melon salad. It was just a big bowl full of lettuce with only 7 small cubes of melon and scattered with bits of feta cheese. The worst value for money we've ever had for any main meal. Then for dessert she had the burnt Basque Cheesecake which was below average with very little flavour! We won't be going there again.

We called in for a meal and to be honest the fact it was empty on a Sunday should have given us an indication. The service was excellent, but the food was overpriced and fell short of acceptable. It is not somewhere we will return to.

Never had a bad experience here. Whether just a coffee or a glass of wine or a full meal, always happy with service, surroundings and food.

Well , what can I say for just under £15, A little bowl with coleslaw on the plate , what that all about little bowls everywhere ya go now and it looks bad, Gordon would flip his lid if he saw that, Fry's ? I should of ask for chips chunky ones as I'm a right foody, the place it self is very nice in side, The burger it self was ok but if you value for money then go up the road to Rhyl and get a big Mac meal and save yourself £8. All in all I give my meal 5/10

Went for meal after concert, food was just ok would not go again. Waitress was excellent but let down by the poor food.

Met with friends for a meal here one Sunday. The table was booked for 4 pm, so it was not exactly during the lunch time or a dinner time rush. Even though the place was only about half full, one of our friends had to re-order his main meal 3 times because what he chose off the menu was unavailable. Three times! He also ordered a side of onion rings to have with his main - which unfortunately didn't arrive until we'd almost finished eating our meal! The same happened with the desserts. Menu items were unavailable! My hubby had to request his drink order twice because after 20 minutes from his 1st request, it still hadn't been served. In fairness, though, the food they did have was very well cooked and tasty. And the pub was clean, tidy and looked quite nice. Have to say, sadly - none of us were impressed enough to return for our next get-together.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The problem was the bathroom as the water was scalding hot and uou could not add any cold water - tap jammed.

Lovely room. Well equipped and great price. However, disabled bathroom lacked shelves to put things on in the shower and by the sink. Also as it is a wet room it can get slippy after a shower so suggest a floor squeegee is provided from a safety perspective. Fabulous food in the evening and at breakfast. All staff friendly, helpful and easy to talk too. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed one night. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was large and the food was very good. Good for the price. Well situated if traveling past.

I must thank the staff members for their kindness and helpful nature. My car broke down on motorway, with the help of NW police I reached here. They did everything to get me back on my way home. Beautiful place to relax. Sorry guys, there is no option for 100 stars :) you deserve it

I've not stayed overnight, but friends/family have. I've eaten there a few times, and I can't grumble. Staff are friendly and helpful. Tasty food and the house red wine is very good. It's very clean, too.

Poor room cleaning and bar closed at 21:00. Not a satisfactory stay at all.

Hotel really good but the service in the bar with the girl who was serving us for food really really disappointed us extremely rude dismissive to busy on her phone showing the bar staff stuff to care about paying customers - we arrived at 7.40pm to eat we were running late but was told on check in that if we were in the restaurant by 8pm we would be ok and looked after by 7.52pm we were asked if we were ready to order we weren’t but was told that the “kitchen is shutting” with attitude really spoiled our evening - she was the same the week before she really needs some customer service training she was blonde with piercings didn’t catch her name and she didn’t tell us to be honest
