It is the first time I entered this cafe for over 60 years. Walking into my past. A spotlessly clean and sharp evocation of what an ice cream parlour was in the 1950’s - beautiful. The service was friendly and charming. Coffee with frothed milk - not a modern affectation. Where else can you get a cup of comfort in such historic surroundings for £1.28? I am sure the ice cream would have been as good as I remembered. An absolute gem and Rhyl should celebrate it.

Just lovely ice cream simple flavours and so cheap. Went here on the afternoon of the air show. This is a family run independent and worthy of local support.

My friend and I had gone out for coffee, but the place I recommended was shut.my friend then mentioned sidoli as it looked like a nice cosy ice cream parlour,an Italian one at that. We went in the woman was rather rude when explaining it was cash only, and that there was no table service.she wouldn't even touch the cash my friend gave her. If it hadn't been raining we would have taken out drinks out,as the woman was clearly watching us to make sure we were actually having a drink.in future I think I'll just bring a thermos flask of coffee out as it was a rather unpleasant experience. I'm local to Rhyl but I tell you that that was the first and last time I ever go there

I used to visit this cafe with my grandparents in the 60's. Rhyl has changed a lot, but this cafe is timeless. The ice cream is wonderful. You don't need any other flavours than vanilla, which hasn't changed in taste over the years. If you visit Rhyl, you HAVE to visit this wonderful cafe!

Where to start ? Beautifully preserved 1950s decor somewhere that hasn’t jumped on the band wagon and felt its had to change. Coffee outstanding and the ice cream is true Italian quality ( coming from a fellow Italian ). A family business since the early 1900s how many can still say that ? My favourite place to visit. Maria you do an incredible job I enjoy our conversations about Italy , life in wales , rhyls past and present. Please only choose here if you understand quality over quantity

I see we're not the first to experience the awful service at Di Sidoli in Rhyl. My two kids ordered ice cream and thanked the lady serving them. They ate their ice cream whilst my father in law made small talk, asking if it is usually so quiet. We cleaned up a small mess my 2-year old made so the lady didn't have to. She snapped at my father in law for trying to help. On our way out she screeched 'leave the table and chairs how you found them' (which I was going to do anyway). I even went to tidy a table we HADN'T sat at by gently pushing the chair under the table with my foot as my hands were full... "NOT WITH YOUR FOOT" shrieked the harridan. She then mumbled about ice creams are to take away, they do plates for people in (we weren't offered a plate or told about this nonsense policy). When I challenged her about this she literally chased me out of the door trying to teach me manners. I told her I now understood why the cafe was empty in peak season. I work as an area manager for a restaurant chain and it annoyed me that I couldn't sack her on the spot because if any of my employees gave that kind of service, that's exactly what would happen. Hey ho.

Took my child here as it claims to be an icecream parlour but its not, only icecream on sale is a scoop of vanilla icecream with a sauce on top. There is far mire selection on an icecream van and in any cafe. So dont expect to find an icecream parlour here. Note to ownwers please remove the name parlour from your business as you are only wasting peoples time and disapointing children

On Saturday 04/05/18 I visited the cafe. The female staff member was rude, intolerant and extremely unhelpful. Apparently it is too much trouble to serve a customer coffee with cold milk on the side saying “ We don’t serve it like that”. She didn’t get the ice cream order right and when I asked for another two chocolate flakes she said “It pays to be decisive doesn’t it ? “.Having grown up in Rhyl as a child and visited several times over the years, I always had a place in my heart for this establishment. I left the town a long time ago and can’t believe the attitude of the staff member. If you don’t like serving the public it’s time to quit. I won’t be returning.

Popped in for 2 tubs of ice cream with my girlfriend. I got mine and sat at one of the tables. As my girlfriend paid she was told, “This is meant as a take out, but ‘Oh well’”. Such a shame, as I have fond memories of this place as a child. As a closing note, I must add that the cafe was completely empty, so clearly no customers are better than some!

A steady flow of locals came in for their mid morning cuppa and a snack perhaps. It reminded me of the fifties and there is nothing wrong with that, as I like these more traditional establishments. Coffee was not as good as I remember from the Sidoli's I have visited in many years gone by but perhaps that is my memory. Poor selection of cakes and snacks. Prices were very reasonable.

I was so happy to find Sidoli's was still there after all these years! My mum Rita worked there in the 50's when I was just a toddler and my Daddy was studying to be an Industrial Chemist. I remember the ice cream wafer, the 'Nickabocker Glory's', the 'Banana Sundaes' were always my favourite. I was always spoilt my Mr. Sidoli Snr., when I would go with my daddy to met mummy from work. On this visit (at a young 65 years old)I had an ice-cream wafer, something I have not had since my childhood, it was as delicious as I remember it.

I travel a lot.Cities and towns I visit often reboot,re-invent,evolve.They change.Im not opposed to that.Change is VERY good.Rhyl is ever changing.Sadly heading downhill, looking tatty and evermore rough. Its now very grim to visit. One UNCHANGING aspect of Rhyl which seems to never evolve is this cafe.Is that good?.Well it seems to be ok.It sells good coffee.its clean and its a strange venue in Rhyl and in 2015.A milkbaresq place.A very nice place for coffee.Prices are very good.Service is good too.I enjoy visiting. When so much else changes its great to see something that does not change much but,in not changing, retains a curious charm. Its just a nice venue to sip coffee.Ofcourse you wont find Americano,Latte,Mocha,Expresso etc here. This is your frothy coffee machine 1960s venue.Which is very cool.NOT a Costa.MUCH cheaper for one thing. Not a Cafe Nero.More relaxing due to its timeless relaxing feel. Not a Starbucks.Theres no gimmicks at Sidolis.Just good value, polite staff,a clean relaxing cafe.Thats about as good as it gets..You could not really ask for more.

I always have to call in at Sidoli's if in Rhyl. Over 50 years ago, as a child I was taken in by my mother when we were doing the week-end shop. I have taken many friends in when they are in the area and our children and grandchildren have all had their first warm drinks in Sidoli's café.

Returning to Sidoli's is always like coming home.It maintains a very clean very friendly and very reasonably priced venue. Now I love new venues new concepts and ideas.Innovation progress and distinct products.I love re-creation re-invention and periodic re-boots.The exception to all that is the continuety exhibited by Sidoli's.It is as good today as my first visit in the late 1980's and its been around long before that.It works because it has great family-run dedication.Because the tradition of good service and an excellent beverage range and the famous Ice cream is timeless.Change is good. But retaining a darn good formula that is as great today as ever it was works too.It is a fine venue.Nice for a cup of coffee. These days I take mine black. But I am almost tempted to indulge in one of Sidoli's Milky coffees. They are made by one of of those milk bar style frothy coffee mashines that were all the rage in the 60's.So cool.So worth a visit.

Its like taking a trip back to the 40,s/50,s when you walk through the door. The tiled floor, the formica tables, the family who run the cafe in their white coats. The place is a hidden gem. If you want a proper decent coffee forget the massive chain coffee houses because the are not a patch on Sidoli,s. It hasn, been in the family for 102 years for no reason. Long may it remain open they can be assured of my business for as long the cafe is here. Well done its nice to go somewhere that hasn,t been spoilt and remains traditional. Just wish the seaside town of Rhyl itself had maintained the charm, character and honesty of this family run cafe. From the staff who have always worn the white coats, to the original tiled floors and formica tables, the menu board with "push in" letters, the glass display cabinet often containing white bread ham or cheese sandwiches - no this isn't fine dining but it is an original ice cream parlour but don't expect trendy vintage/retro styling - this is the real thing, not posh just decent and inexpensive. The ice cream is wonderful, it's home made and is carefully scooped and flattened into tubs the old fashioned way - vanilla, chocolate or strawberry - with a wafer of course. The owners are extremely friendly and polite and whilst they may not offer fancy brown bread, they'll certainly make your coffee as strong or weak as you like without charging for "extra shots". I hope they don't change a thing - it's sadly the only reason we ever stop in this once lively and respected resort - luckily this cafe has survived.
