Sunday night , we travel when we can to here from Tenby only 74 miles , stay at the Wellington Hotel ( see separate review ) This is the best Indian by a long long shot . Food is amazing . This time it was the best Onion Bhagis as starter followed by for Linzi Handi Lamb Slow cooked lamb in an intense aromatic curry of caramelised onions and yoghurt. Flavoured with mace, cardamon & dry-rose petals. Scented with whole garam masala and for me Chicken Dalwala Small pieces of chicken tikka cooked with fried potatoes, pieces of lemon, selected spices and herbs in a thick lentil sauce, medium strength, very nice and tasty, Chapati for me , Linzi had a Peshawari Naan , and we shared two portions of Pilau Rice , now two days on and I am still saying out a loud " god that was a good meal . Already planning a trip back up to Brecon . We like Sunday night as traffic on the roads quiet and the Sunday in the restaurant also apart from a Vegetarian drunk and her partner we had the staff and restaurant to our selves . It's a shame what alcohol and vegetables can do to some one !!
Back soon love this place did I mention the big portions.
PS
I like a restaurant where they welcome you back with a smile and a nod of exceptantance of welcome back mr Tenby .
Had a preboooked sunday lunch here with a large number of friends. Food and service were great as usual. They didn't mind us coming in soaked after a long walk, and left us to chill after the meal as well. Recommended.
We went for Sunday lunch. There was Pork loin or Beef to choose from. We chose pork and it was lovely. There were 7 side vegetables, all beautifully cooked also Apple sauce and gravy. For desert there was a large choice. I chose the home made meringues with summer fruits and whipped cream. The meringues were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They were beautiful as they were not too sweet and the fruit and cream complemented the meringues very well. My husband chose the home made apple flan with ice cream and that was also very much enjoyed. The staff are very welcoming and we will certainly be back. Thank you.
Ian Kelly is an accomplished chef, we visited the restaurant for Sunday Lunch , the food was excellent, amazing service , I had the roast Beef and my wife had the Chicken Supreme, great value and the toast potatoes were to die for .. no doubt i will be paying many more visits .
Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop
Called in here for coffee and cake while visiting the antique centre. What a find! Stunning cake and coffee and a fabulous place. So well decorated and the loos rank among the best I’ve been in. We will definitely be back to sample the lunch menu and maybe even stay the night. Great service too.
We really enjoyed our weekend stay at the Bridge. So comfortable and homely in a very characterful building. Thank you Carol and Jon for your incredible hospitality. The breakfast is excellent with a variety of choices, plenty of flexibility and really good coffee. The local knowledge of walks was invaluable and really makes this place stand out. I wish there were more b and bs like this.

We had an incredible stay at this cozy cabin! The location is beautifully secluded, surrounded by nature, making it ideal for relaxation. It is located just 13 mins drive from the centre of nearby town Llanidloes where you can enjoy both local and Asian food. The cabin itself was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
What made our visit even better was the owner’s hospitality. The whole family were incredibly friendly, responsive, and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. From great local recommendations to ensuring we had everything we needed, their kindness made all the difference.
If you're looking for a quiet retreat with top-notch hospitality, this is the place to be. We can't wait to come back!
We booked a last minute break away to Castell Howell, staying in one of the cottages on site. We took 3 children and two dogs with us and had a wonderful stay. The cottage is equipped with the essentials and was kept warm and clean. The beds were comfortable and made with bedding and towels provided.
The owners were very welcoming and beyond helpful during our stay. Went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. We were greeted on arrival with a welcome basket with coffee, tea, milk, a small bottle of wine, a bottle of cider and drinks for the children- which was a very lovely gesture.
The views surrounding the property are stunning and there were plenty of places to walk the dogs locally, but was also only a 20-30 minute drive to dog friendly beaches in Ceredigan and New Quay.
There are lots of other local attractions which the owners are more than happy to advise on things you can do locally and the best places to go.
The property is very out of the way, so phone signal was an issue, however, there is wifi in the communal areas- bar and pool.
We swam in the on site pool every day and visited the bar as well. It was very quiet so we had the pool to ourselves and had excellent service in the bar. The pool was warm and had changing rooms with showers and toilets as well.
The facilities could definitely do with a bit of a clean and updating but this doesn't take away from the overall experience we had.
The kids had a blast and we welcomed the break from our phones and work. In fact none of us wanted to leave!
We will definitely be returning, thank you Castell Howell!
Had a tasty lamb and feta burger with rosemary salted chips. It was expensive at £12.5 for the burger and £4.5 for the chips but similar prices to other places in the area.
