I went with my daughter and son in law for Sunday lunch on Jan 28th. They were extremely busy as they had 3 large parties in for lunch but they fitted us in. We had salmon, turkey, and steak and ale pie respectively and I couldn’t fault the food. Everything was cooked to perfection, none of this half cooked veg thank goodness. It was service with a smile from all and we even asked to speak to the chef Perry to congratulate him on the food. Thank you all the ladies who served us as you worked extremely hard. I can heartily recommend this restaurant which is named the Fairway and has the most stunning views over the golf course. You would love it. Anita kissane.

Yet another great Sunday lunch experience, pate starter was very good and my fish pie was very tasty and filling. My wife had a traditional roast and was delighted with it. This is such a great place to eat in a relaxed and gentile environment

In my opinion (and that of my 2 fellow golfers) , the course is possibly the best we have played for a long time. Every hole is pleasant on the eye with either different trees or flowering plants , throw in a couple of water features and it is lovely. The course itself gives a good test with undulating fairways , well placed bunkers and quick greens a stray shot is difficult to retrieve back to the fairway. This course requires a little thought on approach shots to the green. The clubhouse has friendly staff and the club shop is well stocked and welcoming. We will definitely return and highly recommend. The views over to Pen y Fan and surrounding hills are pretty spectacular as well.

Sunday lunch is always very good here, it is a shame we leave it so long between visits. There is always a good choice of roasts and often a good fish option. We are never left hungry after the ample portions and good choice of vegetables. We will not leave it so long to visit again!

We visited for a for a family lunch and the surroundings and views were super. The food was very good, service a little slow but everything tasted as if it was freshly prepared so a little wait was excusable. One of our party had Yorkshire pudding with sausages and gravy - a different take on Toad in the Hole - and he couldn't believe how good it was!! We were also pleasantly surprised by the bill at the end - it was certainly less than expected.

Whilst the restaurant had been recommended I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Garlic mushrooms were good as was the Chicken Supreme with Tagliatelle. A good pointer to the quality of the food is that I would have both dishes again. The staff were efficient and polite and a good ale was served at the bar. Being used to prices in the South East I was pleasantly surprised by the price here.

Great course, really well presented! Testing course not just pick up a driver and hit it down the fairway! You had to think about this course and try and plan where your next shot would be! Going sign up to their open day!!

Family Sunday lunch was fine. all served at the same time - a big bonus! Roast meat (beef and lamb) rather tough. Sauces (horesradish, mint etc.) only served on request. Veg. plentiful and fresh.

We ate here on a quiet Sunday lunch time, but as always , we had booked for after 14.00. The Lemon Sole was superb and the Sunday roast my wife had was excellent too, nothing pretentious or over the top at all, plus good value for money. Richard remains one of the best chefs in Brecon.

My husband and I recently stumbled across Cradoc Golf course on a mini break we took to the Wye Valley area. What a find! Fantastic fairways, gorgeous greens and the views are spectacular. I would happily spend a day on the view from the 7th green. The staff in the Pro Shop were friendly and welcoming. We decided to have our lunch in the restaurant and, needless to say, it lived up to our expectations, especially the hot beef baguette. Friendly staff, good quality food with decent portions and at a very reasonable price. Will definitely return to Cradoc.

Just had our Seniors Captains day at CGC. Really enjoyable day. I played pretty badly but the course was good as was the service in the pro shop and the club house. Food was good at the end of the day as well. Signed up to return on 12 september for a 4BBB open. Bring it on

We arrived on Thursday for a practice round. Lovely course in beautiful surroundings. The club house was clean and comfortable and even though the ladies loos were under renovation everything was clean and useable. Staff were all helpful and welcoming. Pro shop was well stocked and friendly service. However: I noted upon arrival on the Thursday the bar menu on laminated sheets seemed to have a good selection and was reasonably priced, however having just travelled from home we had brought with us a packed lunch so had no need for food that day. On Friday morning I noted the laminated menus had disappeared and instead was a blackboard with the same choices but each item had been significantly increased in price. Between matches my son ordered ham,egg and chips, what a disgrace, chef I honestly don't know how you could have allowed this food to enter your kitchen in the first place never mind serve it! The ham was the thinest, cheapest, nastiest value ham you could have found, it was full of fat and goodness knows what else. Ham, egg and chips should have thick carved ham. You ought to be ashamed!! You also served this ham on the sandwiches, and they were just sandwiches no salad garnish, not a crisp, nothing. The burger bun looked like it had been frozen and then defrosted the top of the bun was all wrinkled and looked unappetising, however the burger itself was ok. These kids needed good nutritious, quality food and us parents expected value for money, sorry but you provided neither. I was very disappointed as we're others.

A couple of pals and I played two rounds at Cradoc GC and found the course in great condition, slanting fairways proved a real problem where a good tee shot would some times end up in trouble, on the days of our visit the greens were good but of inconsistent speed but overall an enjoyable experience. Our one complaint was the clubhouse food, quite frankly shocking, the hot beef baguette was inedible, meat pie and chips very poor so definitely wouldn't eat there on our next visit.

We ate Sunday lunch here again recently, the food was first class as usual. the squid starter was cooked perfectly and they even substituted sweet chilli sauce for me for the tartare that was on the menu. We both had roast beef and were completely full by the time we finished. The choice of vegetables was excellent and the meet was very tender without being overdone.

we have not eaten here for a few months for various reasons. We have had Sunday lunch here for the last few weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Yesterday we both had a roast beef dinner (as the fish choice did not appeal to me) and it was first class. we were both absolutely stuffed afterwards. The beef was very tender and plentiful and the vegetables, very varied and again, plentiful.

Very good golf course and restaurant which is open to the public. Scenic, well-manicured and good facilities - water fountains on the course were most welcome. Only thing lacking was a yardage chart which would have been a help for the dog-legs.

Been here quite a few times the last week or so, always a lovely atmosphere with plenty going on, visited for both family gatherings and couples night out, great selection of beers, and the house wines are great value, social membership available at £10 per annum gave us 10% discount at the bar too :) really good value for money, both food wise (which is consistently excellent) and drinks, well worth a visit if your passing, and fab views of the beacons.

We went to the golf club on a sunny but chilly day in April so it was too cold to sit and eat outside. The view from the restaurant window is fabulous as the Brecon Beacons can be seen. We ordered from the lunchtime menu and decided on beer battered cod with chips and peas or salad and tartar sauce. When the meal arrived it was beautifully fresh with a large piece of fish and excellent chips. I can honestly say this was the best beer battered cod I have ever tasted. Other meals being eaten by other diners looked equally good. I am only sorry I do not live nearer to eat there more often. We were also able to watch the golf from the window as we ate. The price for the meal with a pot of tea was less than £10 Amazing value for money.

I booked a round of golf with some friends on just a spare day out. The staff we met on arrival were very pleasent and walcoming to say the least. The course was in fantastic condition with by far the best surrounding views ive ever seen whilst playing golf. After we freshened up and was once again warmly welcomed into the clubhouse. The bar staff and waitresses were of a 5 star standard and the food was also on par with this service. I would reccommend any-one to visit Cradoc Golf course and also food and drink. Stunning!

We have had Sunday lunch several times at The Golf Club restaurant and have always enjoyed it. Good home cooking, locally produced food, friendly service and value for money. However the last visit was a little disappointing in that we had to waylay a waitress in order to place our order and the dessert I ordered, banoffee pancakes, were rather ordinary and tasteless. I'm sure this was a hiccup and we will be returning.

Well worth a visit, why has no one given a review - come on guys! Having searched for an all day Sunday lunch as we wanted to eat at 3pm we booked this having looked at the menu on the net not knowing the area. The staff and golfers were friendly and it had a lovely clean and friendly atmosphere. My husband had delicious lamb and I had the pork which was also great. It tasted as if it was cooked fresh with great pots and we were shocked when bowls of 7 different veg were bought out, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, suede, carrots, red and green cabbage that were all cooked to perfection. Sherry trifle and chocolate waffles to finish -perfect!!

We have been visiting The Drover's for around 25 years. As a full Family initially, now just the two of us. Peter and his Team never disappoint. The welcome is always friendly and we do enjoy a modest pre Lunch drink in the cosy snug out the back. The views of the river are spectacular. It was a bit chilly to be sitting outside on the balcony but one brave chap did take his coffee out there! The food, well, you can't call it 'just Sunday Lunch! It's a foodie treat! Plenty of beautifully cooked food. Always hot and tasty. The quality is certainly there as well. Cannot fault anything and the Sweets are to die for! The atmosphere is invariably pleasant. A good mixture of Walkers, Holiday makers and Locals. Thanks so much for everything over the years Peter. We're already in the process of booking next year's trip to Wales, so keep an eye out for an email soon!

Our first time here this morning. From the minute we walked in we was welcomed and seated. All staff were welcoming. Myself and fiancé ordered a full English, food was lovely not one fault and clear plates. I had a cappuccino which was tasty and perfect. We were approached and asked if everything was okay during our meal. We paid with cash and left a tip as we were very pleased. We will definitely be attending again on our next stay.

Great place to stay. A friend and I cycled to the area and stayed here overnight. The owner is very accommodating and friendly. The room is a generous size with all the facilities you would want, and you have access to an outside deck area with lounge chairs and table which is ideal on a sunny day. The breakfast was also lovely. The location was great as it’s a 5 min walk from 2 good pubs and a post office/shop

Mock timber frame manor house retaining much of its character and charm. No lifts. Breakfast was choose your own pre-packed cereals with a cooked option. Dinner was a mini-taster with delicious options which we watched cooked on TV cameras. The room was clean but dated with an en-suit crammed in. High windows restricted light and views of extensive gardens and river. The staff were friendly and willing but lacked service training. Guests our age do not wish to be called 'you guys'.
