Despite living close by I had never dropped into the cafe. My friend & I had coffee and tiffin accompanied by our dogs. We got a lovely welcome, great service & will definitely become regulars as we can incorporate a visit into our walks. Our dogs, one large, one small, were the centre of attention & loved meeting the staff, volunteers & customers. They got their own bowl of water & splashing it on the floor was not frowned upon! The walled garden the cafe sits in is beautiful.
Service was cheerful and fast. Food was tasty fresh with generous portions. It was easy to find something we both liked on the Mediterranean style menu, and we were treated a complimentary
baclava...not sure what we did to earn it, but that's the kind of place they are, wanting to spread a little joy.

Extremely Crap Lounge. Staff very bossy like she owns the lounge to herself. They refused a teenager travelling in Club Europe to be in the lounge. Reported to BA & Aviation Authority.
First of all if it had not been from message from manager everything been fab ! However very poor customer service from him / her that he/she got staff to pass on . The staff themselves are lovely - have been in a few times and always very impressed but overall impression of here now changed.
I was not after full meal and just wanted loaded macoroni chips . This was not on the menu anymore but I asked to have ( did not know this )and my order was taken as the bar staff very accommodating . However on returning to table I noticed been charged for full mac cheese meal . Think difference least 5 pounds and knew would not manage so returned to bat .Again staff lovely but were unable work out how to refund but said if okay would get in touch manager and took my number which I was fine to wait with as knew happened as maybe caused confusion ordering what no longer there . They even asked could I choose desert instead to make up but as I said was not needing much . Anyway thought would get call next day - food served and was a huge portion ( but I did only want smaller plate ) and when started eating told manager had said not be getting any refund the difference as what ordered not on menu.so not willing to do Just felt this was all very disappointing and seen by time finishing nobody else there at about 6pm not best way to draw people back and with such lovely staff and food I would suggest poor customer service from management will certainly not increase foot fall!!
Visited here with family for lunch. Great welcome from the owner, homely setting, clean tidy and cosy, just what you need on a winters day. Extensive menu, which was well prepared and presented and delicious also.
Well worth supporting this local business, you wont be disappointed.
We called here for our evening meal and what a find, great food all cooked fresh and was very tasty. This restaurant is located in a side street so slightly hard to find so it was quiet but well worth finding. The waiter was very helpful with everything.
Had a stop here during a day trip to the borders. My teen son had the big breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly. He highly recommends the sausages. I had an amazing coffee and was welcome to sit and relax, not rushed out. Dog was treated like a queen, they brought her a bowl of water and had treats for her. The value for money is phenomenal, the plate was full with really well seasoned food. It’s difficult to find places that welcome your dog so openly on a day out. We had no problem getting parked and were in walking distance of a lovely little park with a viewpoint over the river.
We organised a family lunch at the Rosslea Hall Hotel in celebration of my dad's life this week. Abbie was very helpful in arranging our day which ran very smoothly. We had coffee on arrival, then we left to scatter my Dad's ashes. On our return we had drinks in the bar, followed by a 3 course meal in the restaurant.
Abbie and her team were excellent - everything we had agreed was in place, the food and service was excellent and it made for a memorable day for all the right reasons.
