First of all, the staff here are wonderful! So kind, polite, and friendly. The service was fast and the cafe is set in a beautiful location. The menu was lovely, simple things made really well which was exactly what we were looking for. Both of us had fabulous toasties and will definitely be back to try some of that home-baked cake!

We had been on a 7.30am boat trip out of Gairloch Harbour and returned ravenous. The GALE Centre was nearby and looked appealing from the roadside. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stop for lunch as it was friendly, bright and had a wonderful shop with local/ Scottish themed gifts and niceties. The staff were helpful, enthusiastic and friendly and apologised there would be a 15 minute delay for our food which was appreciated but we were in no hurry and the food arrived well within our expectations. The toastie was filling and the salad/ platter I had was well presented with fresh ingredients. I really appreciated the big pot of tea and offer of more hot water as I was still warming up from the trip out on the open sea. The cake selection was great and very appealing but as we’d promised ourselves a seafood supper we looked longingly and didn’t sample. Good selection of food to suit most dietary requirements. We were also pleased we were helping a local cause and we wish you the very best in your success because it is hugely deserved. To top off my praise for this delightful Centre, I left my hat behind and as we had already left the area when I realised, they offered to post it back to me. I sent them a prepaid envelope and Craig Law made sure it was shipped. Hopefully we will be in the area in the future to visit again.

Magnificent community centre. Delicious home made cakes with amazing choice. Great coffee, brilliant service. The craft shop is great too. Fully stocked with great craft, cards and maps and paintings and superb photographs. Oh, and did we mention the view.

Overall, we enjoyed the food and the staff were very nice. We especially liked the soup. A few observations - the boba tea was a bit too sweet (would be good to offer different sweetness levels for all drinks, as I asked for my coffee to be less sweet), the bagel and wrap were a bit small and some nice decorations would enhance the atmosphere.

Delicious ice cream! A little cramped to move through the line, as the place is small, but that is a small price to pay for some good ice cream.

We called here on our way to Lock Ness as we were staying in Durnamuck for a holiday, the coffee was really nice (proper coffee not instant crap) and the apple & cinnamon scone was delicious so soft and just perfect. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, definitely on our favourites list for when we are back up this way.

The food was delicious and portions were large and affordable. The café is a lovely modern building and beautifully located overlooking the Cromarty Firth. The café is dog friendly although you have to sit in a neuk off to the side of the main cafe, which was fine, however if there were two or three dogs in there it could be chaos.

Best coffee we found between Inverness and John O’groats. Cakes are huge and staff are very friendly. Nice spacious cafe to sit and enjoy your coffee.
