Alla Locanta in Glasgow City

We called here for our evening meal and what a find, great food all cooked fresh and was very tasty. This restaurant is located in a side street so slightly hard to find so it was quiet but well worth finding.The waiter was very helpful with everything.

A hidden gem,this restaurant was a lovely place for lunch,it was very quiet when we visited but the waiter made us feel very welcome,we where impressed with the food it was very fresh and the chicken dish I chose was delicious and for the price we paid it was well worth the money I will certainly be back.The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and it was all together a very pleasant experience .

We booked a pre theatre deal through 5pm £13.95 for 2 courses plus bottle wine to share. The menu for this was however very limited with little Turkish options a restaurant advertised on 5pm as having both Turkish and Italian cuisine (seems a slightly odd combo), so we opted to have a slightly dearer set menu £3 more each to get some more choice. Again the Turkish options very limited especially on starters. We both had calamari which was lovely, and then the lamb kofta kebab - this was nice but not quite as good as was hoping for. If I went again, I’d try an Italian main, given this side of the menu is more extensive, I think this is possibly where the restaurant’s strengths lie. Service was very good and the house wine nice too. I hope to be able to give a higher rating next time. Great location for Kings theatre - cosy wee place and clean.

Pre theatre family visit for first time. Really nice restaurant with friendly attentive staff. Great vfm, good food presented nicely. I had chilli prawns and pasta salsiccia and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a nice restaurant with nice staff and good food then this is a good choice. We’ll definitely go back.

I visited with friends before a show at the theatre and loved this restaurant. The value was fantastic which is always so appreciated. However the big bonus here is the food was delicious, there was a great variety, we all loved our meals and our waiter Connel /Connal (apologies for spelling!) Could not have been more helpful or deligent. So impressed and I've now found a new favourite restaurant before my shows. Highly recommended to anyone!

Excellent food in a truly unique place.. The best hummus I have ever had and the Swordfish is superb

I had calamari to start which was quite nice, not rubbery as it sometimes is and the batter was light. My wife had melon with feta which was a simple dish but she enjoyed it. For mains I had chicken casserole with rice and veg, it was ok but the sauce was a basic tomato sauce with no much flavour. My wife had the lamb kebab with rice and salad which she enjoyed. The restaurant was very quiet with only one other table taken, being a Thursday night I thought it would be busier. Average food, no atmosphere, ok price, wouldn't rush back.

Dropped into Alla Locanta (just off sauchihall street) with friends and had a lovely meal. It has an extensive menu and is great value for money, all food lovely and fresh and the waiter was attentive and friendly. Absolutely worth a visit if you're up near the theatre or just in that part of town. Will be back!

I'm sure Allla Locanta has been here for some time but I found it yesterday by chance and I'm glad that I did We had an excellent lunch from their set price lunch menu. The food was fantastic and great value for money. The set menu is limited but they have an extensive a la carte selection to choose from. I had falafel to start and lamb kofta kebab for my main course. Both were excellent. Genourse portions and beautifully cooked. The waitress who served us was very pleasant and attentive. I will definitely dine here again and based on my experience I would highly recommend.

What lovely place ,loads to choose from and food is fantastic ,we were well looked after by the staff ,great price and will definitely return.

Great deal on 5pm. 3 courses for £12. Expected small portions and limited choice. Turned out to be good choice and adequate portion size. Couldn’t fault the quality and service. Will definitely return.

We had the two course Market Menu but aside from that there were a number of other menus to choose from. Service was very good and the food arrived quickly and the pasta dishes were very filling and tasty. The olives, tahini and bread before the starter were a nice touch. The soft drinks were slightly pricey although the overall cost was good. Very convenient for the King’s Theatre.

We arrived for a meal pre-theatre. Bread and humous were provided prior to the meal order being taken. The girl serving could have been a bit more attentive and accommodating when taking the orders, but apart from that we enjoyed our visit and our meal. For example a pint of fresh orange and lemonade was ordered, yet a small glass was served. Only having time for one course we ordered a main course each. The meatballs with Spaghetti were very nice and served in a creamy tomato sauce which was very tasty. The Pepper Chicken was also nice and came with some mediteranean veg. All sides have to be ordered individually and do not come as part of the meal. This restaurant appears to be located where Alla Italia and Alla Turca previously were. The meal was enjoyable and we would return.
