Dunya in Glasgow City

Regularly come to Dunya for some Middle Eastern cuisine never been let down. A complimentary bowl of soup is given whilst browsing the menu and deciding what to have. Lamb shawarma platter is the best l've tried in Glasgow. Top restaurant top people.

Outstanding food. We had the lamb stew and grilled sea bass. Both ridiculously delicious and very fairly priced. Large meal each with complimentary soup, and drinks cost £32

Dunya is so legit. The mixed platter is generous, incredibly delicious and such great value. Whether you eat in or take away, the team making the fresh food is fantastic. Everything is always made on time even at their busiest. My favourite restaurant in Glasgow serving charcoaled meats.

Food was wow, portion was generous, prices are reasonable and Staffs were so helpful. Highly recommended. We will come back soon

Was working in Glasgow and decided to meet my eldest son for a bite to eat and we’ve been before and really enjoyed it not to mention it’s just down the road from him. Food and service were really good

Great restaurant. My favourite shawarma place in glasgow, absolutely love it. I'd be in every day if I lived beside it.

The kebab was very delicious but the rice was really dry and almost raw. Customer service was not as expected and the chairs are really hard to be comfortable on.

I visited today with my husband. I had bbq lamb chops with white bean soup which was delicious. My husband had bbq lamb skewers with spinach soup, which was equally delicious. Also tried ayran yoghurt drink which was new to us. It was lovely sweet, sour salty perfection. Great staff, great food, lively chatty atmosphere . I look forward to returning. 10/10

The best schwama wrap, houmous and baba ghanoush I have every tasted . Fresh, authentic and absolutely delicious . I intend to try everything on this wonderful menu. I cannot wait to return. Highly recommend

The platter is a must have! And so is their soup. Only criticism is the roast chicken was bland! Overall it was great and would go back again!

Very busy. Large selection of middle eastern foods. Waited ages, for takeaway. Was left disappointed. Portion was small ( Kurdish Kebab), in relation to what was paid. Won't be returning..

We had a beautiful meal at Dunya tonight. The food was delicious and nicely-presented, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was reasonably priced. We had the hummus for a starter (delicious!) and the Dunya Special Platter, which was more than enough for two. Would highly recommend!

OMG !! How have I only just discovered this gem and literally around the corner from where my son lives in Glasgow ! Perfect excuse to visit more often lol Went here with friends for a get together an opportunity for online friends to finally get together IRL my son also joined us as he had just finished work he’s been back with friends so that speaks volumes !! Service was amazing the staff were fantastic the selection and quality of the food was perfect. Reminded me very much of some amazing restaurants Turkish friends took me to away from the tourist areas in Turkey. The amount of Turkish, Indian and other mixed Europeans in the place speaks volumes about the authenticity of the food. I’m already planning g on making this a regular spot they also have a massive menu to work through !!! Prices are amazing sooo reasonable and the complimentary soup is beautiful, service is fast the food well cooked and the flavours amazing

I recently visited Dunya and was disappointed with my experience. I ordered the bbq fish with rice and found it to be undercooked. Additionally, the rice was undercooked as well. However, the waiters were good and provided excellent service. I hope that the restaurant can improve the quality of their food in the future.

The worst experience I ordered Kurdish kabab and fish both disappointed in the picture looks amazing but in real life is worse it’s not worth it

A guy told me , you can’t sit over an hour, you ll be charged. I didn’t know that there was a rule such that. Please inform people before they enter the restaurant.

My friend kept going on about this place so thought to give it a go. Parking is ok, very welcoming staff & food on display is well presented. Got a mixed grill which was really nice & fresh & the hummus with the shawarma shavings as a starter. I was really impressed & the good reviews are very much well deserved

Very loud atmospheric buzz, full of loud groups, family's if you can chill into this vib you are in for a tasty treat. The free surprise taster bowl of soup was a nice touch and very tasty. This is not a posh restaurant but the food is soooo tasty.

If you love grilled babs this is the place lovely grilled meat in a Cafe setting . Had a mixed kebab chicken skewer lamb and minced lamb with lovely fresh salad and bread for 13 bucks. Absolute bargain . It's always busy as well which is a good sign. Just a pitty they don't deliver 😕

So I had been here previously with a friend and the service was great (she knew the owner). I am a vegetarian and had the hummus and falafel. It was yummy. The naans are amazing. I then decided to take my family along. We sat down and ordered. 15 mins after we had arrived, another family came and sat beside us. They were given free soup within a couple of minutes. We were never once offered soup. I had to ask the waiter for it. This big family then got their food before us!! Our food came way after. The waiter never once came to check on us. We actually had to leave the table and go to the front desk to ask for anything we needed. They short changed us the naans we had ordered. The recommendations we were given were not nice. The meat/mixed grill according to my kids and husband was not nice. My husband has said he will never go back! I do have to add though that the Indian waitress is lovely!!!

First time visiting after widely praised by family and I'm craving more. Best Shawarma Wrap I've ever tasted, so perfectly made, served hot. Ordered regular but a large portion. BBQ Wings were absolutely beautiful, sooo much flavour. Credit to the staff who quickly served starters and ensured we were comfy. 10/10. MUST VISIT.

Just been to this restaurant and I want to describe you as its absolutely I want to rate this one as a zero the food is absolutely rubbish the dishes came half missing and the staff was ruled the owners more interesting and his beard and his hair then rather than serving the foods a bet they don't know nothing about food hygiene or anything about hygiene certificate because they're touching their face and seven foods they're touching hair the seven food all those as a Middle Eastern myself I am ashamed calling you guys Middle Eastern restaurant

Ayran was absolutely horrible Shawarma is good so as the starters Dolma was served hot, which we as Arabs have it cold

Food was phenomenal, would definitely go back. Only thing that put a dampner was being seated next to a very loud table but that can't be helped.

The place was a mess and chaotic. Order took a while to come. Food was okay, a bit too greasy. Kebabs were nice.

I purchased a chicken shwarma from here to take out. The restaurant was full. The staff are helpful and the shwarma was perfect. Although when you are asked about the garlic mayo sauce, tell the staff to put a tiny drop on as its very overpowering.

Good place to dine in great service and love tea that is in house.

Great food and helpful lady to serve as well. However, when it's busy, the order comes in patches, which makes the meal and the sitting isn't as pleasant as what we desire.

Disgusting customer service and the owner is one rude rude man!! Throwing money in our face when we tried to question they charged us double for something. Avoid at all costs!!!

The food in this place was excellent and tastes delicious. I was looking for a place like this in Glasgow. The prices are reasonable and the portion size is generous! I can’t recommend enough. The only downside was the service was slow but I will put that this time down to the fact it was busy!

The food was very appetising and fresh, services, prices, quality was 10/10. The tea was packed with flavour I would definitely recommend coming to dunya to try the food, tea, baklava .

Best and affordable food around duke street

My go to place to eat bbq meat. Excellent food and very friendly service. Unfortunately the surrounding area is not the best as its East Glasgow, though once inside its nice with good family sitting capacity as well. Mix platter is a must have dish. Go and Enjoy.

The Real King of Shawarmas in Glasgow don’t let the hype of any other place fool you or some hipster that works for a food review place this is the real hidden gem. Plus prices are great too Large Chicken Shawarma £6 you pick the toppings and sauces A great venue, quick, clean and the guys are good at what they do.

This restaurant is ok. More of a takeaway with seating vibes than an actual restaurant. Service is slow and takes them a while to clear tables. That being said, the food tasted good. Once they get a few things sorted, this might turn out to be a wee gem of a food place.

A very busy place on the weekend and a few staff to serve. Long wait. Typical Middle Eastern food with good portions. Amazing nan bread, the Arabic style. It's worth a visit now and then.

The food is ok. Not great. The toilets are disgusting, please clean your toilets frequently. It is not acceptable to go wash my hands before eating and seeing and smelling a nappy before having my meal.

Whoever said "Man shall not live by bread alone" has never been to Dunya. That naan is more addictive than crack.

It was me (heavily pregnant), my husband, my two children (10 and 12 years), my sister in-law and her two children (9 and 3 years). It was very full and we couldn't sit until about half an hour. We ordered and we waited for another hour without being served. We saw all of the other tables being served before us though they arrived after us. It was the worst service I have ever experienced. We complained and the staff was very rude to us. They had no consideration for the fact that we were old customers. I don't think .y family will go there again.

Hi, we were so excited to go there for experiencing varieties of food, we went there Ambience was quite good thus we ordered chicken shawarma platter and chicken shawarma wrap unfortunately they served cold platter and soup . We order chicken shawarma wrap ( that was nice,rated as 3 star). The food was tasty only if we have that a manner how it would be the platter and soup were not hot , we informed this issue to a team member of the restaurant , the response was simply unethical, reply was like " you guys had wrap first because of that the other one was not hot" please find below the photo as mentioned with this . Hardly we took I mins to finish a shawarma bcoz we were two . Kindly I request you all to make sure before you spend a single penny....!

Amazing place when we sat down the first thing that came was the soup it is so delicious I don’t even really like soup but I really enjoyed the soup and then I got the bbq lamb which was very flavourful with hummus and chips and salad in a naan to finish I had baklava which was very sweet,syrupy and crisp overall an amazing restaurant

This place is a gem in the East End. Welcoming service. Delicious freshly prepared food. Wide selection and very affordable. It has a beautiful atmosphere and is clean and tidy with quick service. I have been many times and will return. They serve the most delicious tea too and free soup. love it x

Literally my fave place to eat in Glasgow. I’ve been here so many times and never had a bad meal. I now have my go to “mix grill, side of rice and Nan”. Phenomenal. Have to give a shout out to the staff. Gives me anxiety they never write down our orders - but never get it wrong. Really kind, friendly faces and always attentive. You need to give it a try.
