The best restaurants in Scotland

We were here in September 2023 with friends. Four people and of the four, one was too spicy and three were gold star meals. We had the Arrabiatta with chicken which was probably the best I have ever had. Service was good, price was reasonable. So good we are back in October 2024 on our next visit to Scotland. The service has stepped up a notch, now seriously seriously good. The food superb. No it’s not the prettiest restaurant around but the best food and service and still great value for money. Very few restaurants approve of my husband and I sharing one meal. But this restaurant rather than just putting the food on one plate no giving us a spare plate, shared the meal out and served us each our own portion of the one meal. Love that! Put it on your list .

We went as a group of 4 was swiftly greeted and our coats taken, taken to our table and asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We ordered our starters and received them very promptly within 7 minutes i got the tuna tartare and it was easily the best thing we got all night 10/10. We then went on to order our mains. I got the steamed halibut it was very delicious a tiny bit rich for my taste so i give it a 9/10. Then onto dessert i ordered the tiramisu i get tiramisu whenever i see it on a menu and unfortunately it was probably the worst one i have ever tried but that is my personal taste as i am not a big fan of rich strong chocolate flavours and it was immensely rich 2/10. A great experience the atmosphere is amazing, the staff are very professional and friendly at the same tim. Will definitely be back soon. 😊

Food was okay, but nothing special. Service was really friendly. Restaurant had a really strong smell..

We were greeted with warmth even though we didn't have a reservation. The waiters were very professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and the area. They all had a lighthearted and friendly jocular manner. The venue was very comfortable and clean with great decor, with pictures depicting the owners family in Italy. The food and wine was delicious and presented well. The service was prompt and unobtrusive. We were only in Edinburgh for a long weekend, but ate there twice and had a great experience both times. Would highly recommend.

Have eaten here lots and and bkd the £15 lunch which is one course with no other set option for 2 and 3 courses. We opted for the rump which was £5 extra, had one side dish to share, an alcoholic drink each and a deasert to share and our bill was over £90 as they added an optional service charge. Whilst it is mentioned in the small print, they dont tell you and we overheard a couple complain about their bill. The steak was lovely but for one course, a drink and half a pudding it was expensive which is probably why it was not very busy. Love the vibe and quality here so would suggest it needs to represent better value for money to get the crowds back.

Food was delicious, staff excellent, lovely atmosphere and such a reasonable price. We loved it and will definitely be back.

This place has just amazing food! I had one of their signature dishes, and it was worth a try. Sorry to say, but if I didn't read about it on Tripadvisor up front, I would definately passed by. But despite an anonymous front, they mantain a good atmosphere inside. So close to the busy Royal Mile, still the friendly staff manage to create a relaxed experience.

Hadn’t been here for a few years and visited today for lunch. The lunch menu is incredible value, £12:95 for three courses and the food was superb. Starters were bruschetta and pate, both excellent. Main courses Italian sausage pizza and bolognaise al forno again excellent, for dessert Tiramisu and sticky toffee sundae both fantastic. All in all incredible value for excellent food, definitely going back sometime soon.

Super carry out fish and chips. Beautifully cooked fresh fish, and an over abundance of chips. Scampi and smoked sausage suppers were all first class. Expensive perhaps, but worth it for the quality.

The veggie haggis is disgusting wet mush in a tray, I have never seen it severed like that in a chippy it was not nice, so wet and mushy, looked nothing like veggie haggis either, i usually love veggie haggis but i couldnt eat this. He had fish and chips, with curry sauce and a sausage, he enjoyed his, my chips were OK. The onion rings were disappointing. I'm local and wont be back.

Das Restaurant ist aehr modern und schön eingerichtet, Das Essen ist ebenfalls sehr Lecker, die Pommes waren Super und das Filet sehr Zart. Leider lässt der Service ein wenig zu Wünschen übrig und man muss ziemlich lange Warten.

I went with my family for breakfast and no doubt Paratha with Chana was too good. Recommend 100% Thank you Irram for great service.

Mi esposa y yo fuimos aquí por fajitas, y ambos las disfrutamos mucho. La comida era muy sabrosa, con amplias porciones a un buen precio. El servicio fue eficiente y amable. El pastel de dulce travieso era muy sabroso, también. Definitivamente volveremos una vez que nos hayamos enfriado un poco (de la comida picante y caliente)!

Good hotel in a great location right next to the river. Get everything you expect with a premier inn. No complaints
