We organised a family lunch at the Rosslea Hall Hotel in celebration of my dad's life this week. Abbie was very helpful in arranging our day which ran very smoothly. We had coffee on arrival, then we left to scatter my Dad's ashes. On our return we had drinks in the bar, followed by a 3 course meal in the restaurant. Abbie and her team were excellent - everything we had agreed was in place, the food and service was excellent and it made for a memorable day for all the right reasons.

Went to the restaurant as it was at the hotel we were staying in. Had two lovely meals with good service and some nice wine all at a good price. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

Chef felicitaciones.

We visited the restaurant for Sunday lunch. The three course lunch menu was first class and the quality of cooking and presentation was very good. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall a lovely location with a pleasant walk nearby out to the narrow entrance to Gareloch. Well worth the visit.

We enjoyed a lovely three course meal. To start I had lamb croquettes with lentils. The lamb was a little dry, but when added to the lentils was lovely. For the main I had the venison, it was meant to be served medium rare, but came well done. Despite this I still enjoyed this dish very much. For pudding I had the fruit pavlova, which was good. Very happy with dinner although it felt a little overpriced.

A beautiful view of the hotel gardens and Rhu Bay on Gareloch near Helensburgh from this restaurant. Very good choice from table d'hote and a la carte menus. Well presented food that tastes as good as it looks. Excellent attentive service.

Well worth a visit. Very comfortable Hotel, great food and helpful staff. Not much in Helensburgh itself apart from a visit to the Mackintosh House. But useful for stopping off on your way North.

There was a nice variety of food available, I had the spicy haggis fritters while my girlfriend had the pea and ham soup both of which had good sized portions and were very tasty. The main course of Supreme of Chicken was also very good as was the desserts. Service was very quick and attentive.

The beautiful Garden Restaurant, which was awarded an AA Rosette for culinary excellence, offers good upscale food and corresponding wines at reasonable prices. The service is fast, friendly and not intrusive. Their special lunch offers are a real bargain.

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.

Visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The setting on the shore of Loch Fyne overlooking the ruin of Castle Lachlan is stunning and we were able to enjoy a bottle of fizz outside our shepherds huts where we would be spending the night. After a late afternoon stroll to the castle ruins we were ready for our dinner. The tasting menu served in the evening is locally sourced and is probably the best I have ever tasted. We chose the wine pairing which was excellent and presented beautifully. After a great nights sleep breakfast is delivered to your accommodation and this is another delight. Cannot fault this place
