Cute little cafe inside the museum. Tables were interpretive signage. Cafe food was good but it took a long time to arrive. We visited in early May, and this was the busiest spot we visited outside of Edinburgh! The area is a large scientific complex so I think we just hit it at lunch hour. Good food though. The museum is fun and family friendly. There’s seating inside but not much. There are a couple tables outside too. The little pebble beach right there is interesting.

Lovely cafe! We recently visited for lunch as a group of 7 people and everyone was very happy! We had various items, including baguettes, sandwiches, baked potatoes ,cakes, coffees and soft drinks. Everything was delicious and very well cooked and presented. The staff were very friendly and polite. We were so surprised by how affordable the food was. Definitely one of the best cafes in the area. We can't wait to return!

No rolls! What sort of Scottish cafe doesn't have rolls. No square sausage, weird sandwiches with rocket and vegan cheese. Ugh! Ordered two sausage rolls, pretty sure they were veggie - tasted weird. One of them was inedible due to being microwaved too long and going hard. The other was bland. The custard donut was nice, but could've git tge sane thing at Tesco for far less. Expensive too. Avoid.

They've only been open for a week.... And after one visit, I can honestly say that they would be my first choice for somewhere to go for a snack. Great food and helpful, pleasant staff, plus interesting and comfortable surroundings and facilities. The Goldie toastie (ham, cheese, cream cheese and Dijon mustard) was wonderful, and the cheese and tomato croissant an absolute revelation. And a cup of PROPER mocha, not the usual too-sweet hot chocolate in disguise... Wow!! We'll be back time and time again, and we'll definitely recommend to friends and family 👍😁

Brilliant cafe. Food is delicious. Try the homemade soup, which is served daily ( 2 different kinds), you won't be disappointed. In fact try anything on the menu, delicious.!!., and priced very reasonable... The best café in fact, in my opinion, outwith Oban. Staff very attentive, and courteous.... A gem of a place!!!!... Enjoy. 👍

Really nice, bright café with lovely, chatty and helpful staff. The food is homemade - but in the best possible way, it was great. The food prices were so good too. You can sit outside and eat or take your food to the nearby beach. Superb.

The ladies in the beach cafe are lovely. As a Scot living in London I miss my classic Scottish breakfast of slice, fired egg and tottie scone roll. The beach cafe served me one that was perfect.

Nice wee coffee shop/café attached to the visitor centre! Nothing mind blowing but good prompt service and polite staff. We went after doing the castle and chapel ruins and the visitor centre. Nice scotch pie and tea with a slice of cake between the two of us. Outdoor seating too and they do takeaway! Looks like they had recently opened so were still working things out - watch out as it was CASH ONLY when i visited. No problem as i had cash on me, but might catch folks out given the prevalence of contactless :-)

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.
