Had a stop here during a day trip to the borders. My teen son had the big breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly. He highly recommends the sausages. I had an amazing coffee and was welcome to sit and relax, not rushed out. Dog was treated like a queen, they brought her a bowl of water and had treats for her. The value for money is phenomenal, the plate was full with really well seasoned food. It’s difficult to find places that welcome your dog so openly on a day out. We had no problem getting parked and were in walking distance of a lovely little park with a viewpoint over the river.

We popped in for a coffee whilst visiting Coldstream on holiday. It appeared to be the only cafe in the town that allows dogs. The owner was very friendly and made a fuss of our pooch. The coffee and cakes were delicious. Highly recommended.

This opens really early in the morning which is great for me as my son comes past on his way home from nights. The baguette are wonderful and so fresh and the bacon is cooked to perfection for my taste. In fact my only criticism is that the bacon is only warm and not hot. But I like how clean and fresh this cafe looks and I will put up with luke warm if I have to. I am not sure about the set up inside because my son goes and buys my food to bring home for me but he says it is lovely clean place.

Called today and got 2 great homemade sandwiches and a piece of Mars bar cake with Teas for an impromptu picnic in the park overlooking the river. Service with a smile and chat. A lovely family business providing excellent service. A great addition to this little place

We called in today for a quick fuel stop. It's very clean and service was quick and friendly. Sandwiches are made on the spot, so exactly as you request. There's great ice cream available too!

Nice relaxed friendly hotel. First room was very small, should be a single room. Receptionist was very helpful. Showed us other available ungraded rooms & able to upgrade to a lovely spacious room for a great additional cost. Hotel very clean & rooms have good facilities, safe, iron, hairdryer, safe, fridge, luxury toiletries, wifi hit & miss but free. Lovely view. Beer garden, would have posed an issue if people were smoking as it was right under our window but luckily no smokers. Issue with hot water on first 2 days, took approx 20 mins to get hot water, gallons of water wasted trying to get water at temp that was OK to shower in. This was the case for all rooms (heard others at reception re this). Breakfast was good. Portions good & piping hot. Only issues were herb sausages not to our liking & choice of hot food Limited to cooked breakfast or veggie breakfast. No fish or omlettes etc. Bar prices are expensive & bar menu ridiculously expensive. £22 for half roast chicken (£44 for a chicken!!!) No wonder the bar was empty & we heard staff saying only 1 table booked for a meal. We ate out every night. Pool at hydro worth a visit. Staff all very friendly & helpful. Cakes are to die for!
