This restaurant was recommended by a friend of a friend and I think I also saw it on TimeOut so I said we gotta go. He didn’t have a reservation but were only two people and thankfully they were able to find a table for us. The place is below the street level and tiny. Candle lit and moody, very dramatic but the art on the wall lifts the spirits a bit. The menu consists of tapas like dishes to share and we were recommended to pick 5 things. We chose 3 starters and 2 mains. The chicken was super juicy and very well seasoned, it was very spicy but I like spicy so it was right up my alley. The shiitake mushroom was great too. The cheese filled choux pastry was delightful, there’s only one so we ordered two. The venison tartare was gamey in a good way and beautifully prepared. The mushrooms tons and chives added a great flavor but also texture, love itttt. There’s a selection of cocktails and also wine by the glass. The only downside was the lack of ventilation, the food smell is overwhelming and I still smell of food 😅 The service was amazing, all the staff is lovely honestly we were very well taken care of. I’d definitely recommend to anyone coming to Edinburgh!!

Went mid-week and the menu we thought was a little bit limited. Maybe there are more options on weekends? The food we did order was first class though and my other half really enjoyed her cocktail. Staff were very pleasant and attentive and looked after us. Prices and portion sizes great too! We will be back

Lovely little place. The food is fresh made to order so it takes longer to come out but that is no problem as the food is fantastic. Had a gluten free macaroni cheese and a meat feast pizza which were both great. Great service too.

Got the Catalan I think, jamon was average and olive oil has this unpleasant edge. Ingredients are not of high quality, and the crusty bread was quite decent on its own but it's too thick and hard for a sandwich. 4 thin slices of jamon also was hardly enough, the ratio of the dense bread to the filling was just too much. Maybe if half of it was served as a open faced sandwich it might be better(although more difficult to eat possibly)
