Tucán in Aberdeen City

Went mid-week and the menu we thought was a little bit limited. Maybe there are more options on weekends? The food we did order was first class though and my other half really enjoyed her cocktail. Staff were very pleasant and attentive and looked after us. Prices and portion sizes great too! We will be back

Great South American food in a lovely quaint atmosphere. Lively enough to hear our conversation but not too loud. Very welcoming staff. Arepas and quesadillas are my favorite but my husband recently discovered they also make a fantastic burger! Visit this Rosemount gem and you won’t be disappointed.

Decided to try for the first time after passing it multiple times, extremely warm welcoming. Food was great, home made and authentic south American. Even got a slice of cake for free ❣️ Will definitely return with friends at some point 😊

The staff is always lovely and goes the extra mile. The place has a cosy atmosphere with latino music and colorful wall decors. Food is tasty, plentiful, and quite good value for money given that you're investing in a local business. We're coming here about once a month as we live in Rosemount, and it has never disappointed.

Received voucher as a gift. So glad we went food was exceptional as was the service. We were surprised by the generosity of the portions. Lovely meal followed by some of the best coffee I've had in Aberdeen. Highly recommend the Bon Bon coffee 😁

Used to love going to eat out at Tucan, looking back it has changed a lot firstly the portions especially the empanadas, they used to be a decent size with lots of filling but recently they have shrunk and there is about a tablespoon of filling another thing is there is sometimes more dough than filling and cold on the inside. I had also ordered a loaded hot dog and received it in an hotdog bun that was impossible to eat as it was more on the rock hard side . The atmosphere of the place is nice, staff are lovely but it is very obvious that some don’t get treated very well. Lastly even though the restaurant has a lift it isn’t a very wheelchair accessible place as the lift doesn’t work or even for parents that have prams and may find it difficult trying to get it up the stairs.

Great little cafe in the heart of Rosemount. Food is lovely. We recommend the arepas and quesadillas. The only downside is that is really small. We were lucky to find a table for three.

Never had a bad meal here. Tasting menus have been amazing. They hosted our Christmas dinner and it was the best food I've had in Aberdeen.

We love going to the original Tucan on Rosemount Place, and we’re so happy for this business that they have opened another restaurant on Belmont St. The food is amazing as usual and the central location is great. If you’re not sure what to try then ordering a selection of appetisers is well worth a try. My favourite is the coxinha de frango. But the staff are so friendly and helpful that they’ll easily give you great recommendations. Another reviewer mentioned that Tucan is very popular with many Latin-Americans in Aberdeen and I agree! My partner is Spanish-Peruvian and he loves the arepas and most of the cassava/yucca dishes.

We went along on Wednesday for the first evening Tucán was doing tapas and it was a hit!!! The vibes, food, staff, atmosphere and music was all amazing! Everything was cooked so perfectly and was so fresh. Will definitely be back!

Intentamos llamar y no tienen teléfono. Nos contactamos por sus redes sociales y nos dijeron que no hacían reservaciones si éramos menos de 5 personas. Fuimos a las 19.40 para cenar y a pesar de tener el cartel de abierto, luces prendidas y el horario aún dentro de lo que figura en Internet. Y nos luego de disculparse avisaron que estaban cerrados y no aceptaban clientes. Me parece una falta de respeto. Y una pena ya que nos habían recomendado el lugar, una pena que se pierda la oportunidad de un local tan particular.

Tucán is absolutely a hidden gem that more people need to know about. Proper Latin food with lots of choice. We went for both a tasting menu (absolutely amazing! Far too much food!) And on a weekday for lunch. The prices are very good and I'd absolutely recommend pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese dough balls). There are many vegetarian options, but vegan ones are a bit more limited. The owners offered to create more if given notice, so definitely enquire about that if you're vegan.

Very authentic South American diner with a great atmosphere. It's rare to hear so many Latin American customers in a restaurant in Scotland, so I'm guessing the food gets their approval. Really friendly staff and amazing coffee. Visit it now. You have to.

Went to the Friday night tasting. Outstanding service, beyond friendly and welcoming. Outstanding food, finished to a extremely high standard, very tasty and at a fair price. What more can you say? Get yerself to Tocan for yer lunch as soon as possible!

We came here for one of their Friday evening tasting menus for a special celebration. What a feast! I can't quite remember ever having so much food, and each table-full (!) of dishes was delicious. The staff all seem to share various roles and they are all friendly and clearly (and rightly) proud of the amazing food from Venezuela, Colombia, and Chile (and further afield) that they cook. Tucán is well worth a visit: the food is brilliant and the prices are more than reasonable. The wine selection isn't very exciting, but their cocktails are delicious, so I'd suggest ordering a passion fruit cocktail if it's available when you visit.

Probably the best Latin restaurant I've been to, outside of Latin America. The food is amazing, always fresh and prepared with love and great care. The staff are jolly, friendly, and amazing. They play great Latin music (salsa, bachata). You feel like you are visiting another part of the world. Highly recommended!

Lovey staff and the food was great, lots of gluten free options and the vegetarian options where great to, I'd definitely come back.

Amazing service and delicious food! Such a friendly team in Toucan, it feels like you're visiting family! Everything on the menu is delicious, and there are regular specials which never disappoint. The Coffee Bon Bon is an absolute treat, condensed milk, coffee and cream! The bakes are also amazing, I think this might have been the best cake I've ever had. Thank you to the lovely team!

Una experiencia muy Sudamericana. I'm very glad to know Aberdeen now has a place with delicious, authentic South American food. I am from SA and I felt at home from the moment I stepped in, the music, decorations, menu and service all did justice. I had patacones (tostones) with pulled pork and a guava soda. Then we enjoyed an amazing chocolate cake brazilian style and a coffee, all 5 stars. Truly recommend. The only let down is that it's quite far from town.

Terrific latinoamerican place, an island of authenticity in a city (and a country) where it's very hard to find genuine efforts to bring other parts of the world here. It is definitely recommendable to go with friends, a especial other or whoever you like really, you might as well go on your own too. Completely worth it and filled with Spanish speaking people both in the tables and the kitchen, which of course is a very good indication that this is indeed an authentic latinoamerican place. Anyways, I'll let you some pictures from yesterday and you can see for yourself how delicious the food looks.

It was ok...decent tasting food. A bit of a wait though even if they were not busy and unfortunately the taste isn't as punchy as you would expect of South American dishes. The salsas were nice amd fresh.

Fantastic restaurant with a great atmosphere and wholesome food. Staff were very friendly and helpful, helping us work our way through the unfamiliar menu. The food tasted fresh and full of flavour, and also proved to be very hearty and filling so well worth the price. All in all a great place, and well worth a visit for anyone looking to experience South American food.

Lovely time on a double date, where everyone enjoyed themselves at Tucan! When I first saw my plate, I thought it was a bit little for £9 (I had the beef arepa), but I was really full at the end of it, and the beef was incredible!! We will be back! Great tunes, and lovely service. Big well done to the Tucan Team!

The food was fantastic and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure you expirience is remarkable. Make sure u order the yuka fries and the sauces.

Marcia and her team serve the most exquisite Latin food: arepas, tequeños, hallacas (during the Christmas period), just to name a few. The jugo de guayaba is my favourite drink at Tucán. A must if you wish to enjoy Latin food in Aberdeen.

Food was delicious and enjoyable. Arepas with Pulled Beef / Grated cheese 10/10. Brazilian Worker's Lunch with Chicken - 8/10. Pabellon 10/10. Black bean stew was delicious. The food was not greasy/oily/salty like other take-aways. I'll be back!

Delighted to find some authentic Venezuelan dishes in the granite city. We enjoyed tequinos, yucca frita, areas and pabillon. Was looking forward to some tres leches cake to finish but unluckily for me it was sold out. Will gladly go back.

Friendly people who will make you feel at home. I tried the cachapa with low cooked pork - surprisinly no fatty. My husband tried the pabellon. My kids tried the cachito and empanadas. All delicious! We will come back! Recommended for late breakfast-lunch.

Very clean and very nice café. The only thing is that they took a bit longer than expected on our food but it was busy and they were making everything from scratch. Also, I think it could be amazing if they offered South American desserts, like tres leches. Overall, delicioso.

My partner and I loved our lunch here. The pulled beef was amazing and overall the food was great and reasonably priced for what you get. The staff is also very friendly! This place easily beats most of the other cafes in the area.

I have never felt the need to review anywhere before but this place was so lovely. The food was great and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The coffee was good too. Will definitely be coming back I highly recommend it.
