Working in the area and looked this place up on Google maps so decided to give it a try and it was good... Big thumbs up 👍👍👍

Friendly and helpful service as usual , feel relaxed and welcome and not hassled to leave. Only had a scone today but it was fresh and good

Really friendly staff, very welcoming 😃 breakfast was fab can thoroughly recommend the porridge with whisky and if you are lucky do try the victoria sponge we took one away really delicious well worth a visit

Great place. Had Bannermans Scampi and chips. Really generous portions and prices on par with everyone else. The staff is warm, friendly and chatty nothing too much trouble for them.

It’s like being at family dinner

Stumbled upon this fantastic venue by chance today. Thank goodness I did, from the beginning to the end …. Amazing. So started the afternoon with a light lunch. Prawn cocktail, the prawns were so fresh and the full dish no matter how simply others may think it is, it was so tasty. The staff team, Nicola… what a power house and full of life and kindness. She made my friend and I so welcome. Amanda is the sweetest and loveliest young girl, again made us so very welcome. We were offered by Nicole that the owner Will did a free mini bus shuttle service and offered to collect us from our guest house as we planned to return for dinner. Spot on the time planned we were collected and driven to the restaurant. Reserved table awaited us and nothing we required was too much to ask for. Would highly recommend the Spaghetti Bolognaise stunning. My friend had the steak and sausage pie and couldn’t praise it enough. Nicola and Amanda there to serve us once again and Will ready to take us back to our accommodation. Great value for money, amazing service, phenomenal staff and owner. Friendly restaurant and cafe. Good coffee. Shame you can't see across the Dornoch Firth, but a great stop or meeting point.

1st time here and we found it easily. Parking was a bit of an issue due to nearby construction works by no hardship felt. The station was very clean with plenty room around the tables. The staff were pleasant and courteous and did not pester for our order. The food portion sizes were plentiful and the hot food was very hot. Just one problem crept up, the gravy in one meal was very salty which was dealt with by the staff when informed. I would definitely recommend and we will return in the future. Now on our third visit and will definitely use this as a local place to have a treat. The problem encountered on our first visit has proved to be a one off and have not had any problems since Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely place the ladies behind the jump and the lovely you waitress passing the food and drinks to the customer. The chef in the background is the tops and regulars come back for more of the welcoming atmosphere that's gives this a worthy 5 star plus.

Stopped in for dinner and it was busy so the waitress advised that we would have a wait for our order. We didn't mind and sat listening to the live music that they had on tonight. I had the thai chicken curry and hubby had the steak pie. Great portions and great value for money. Waitress service and staff are exemplary.

We've driven past this hidden restaurant many times without knowing it was there. What a nice find; the service was great and friendly; the food was home cooked and delicious; the toilets were immaculate and the prices just right.

Great stop for bikers! A friend and I stayed at the campsite overnight, and the staff at the ferry station were friendly and full of recommendations for the area. The full Scottish breakfast was pretty good too!

Starting with a lovely warm welcome to humans and dogs alike . Coffee cakes. Milkshakes absolutely delicious dog biscuits gratefully received by our two dogs and fresh water for them too . We wish we had found it sooner

Friendly, great food, reasonably priced. However...the website at the time of writing is misleading. Main meals are served Mon to Thu 1200 to 1430 and Fri/Sat 1200 to 1700. Don't turn up at 1530 on a Thursday and expect a full meal. Ask me how I know!

We stopped off a coffee, it was getting setup for evening bookings, in spite of them being busy setting up for the evening bookings they happily accommodated us, it's very clean and welcoming.

Stopped off after a lovely walk at Aldie Burn for a bite to eat early afternoon (with 4 dogs between us). A fantastic selection & lots of outside seating to enjoy the lovely weather. Every meal was delicious, from lasagne, chicken burger, fish n chips & steak pie - all were great portion sizes too 👌

Best steak pie and macaroni and cheese ever!!! And some traditional Scottish live music was a nice surprise, really adds to the atmosphere

Have visited a couple of times since moving to the area. MFS serves generous portions of well prepared and presented food at reasonable prices. Staff were lovely and we felt very welcome both times.

It is like every halfway decent cafe you have been in. Decent snacks on plates dressed with limp day old salad. But we knew we weren't gonna eat it anyway. So go and sit in a former station with no view of track or train. Enjoy the main attraction, just dont eat the sideshow an dont expect the earth to be shattered.

Lovely place great food and service. Dog friendly too which is a a rare find in this area. Sensible pricing, excellent coffee, friendly staff. Lovely gift shop too!! Return visit on Monday, have been many times but was disappointed this time as I was just wanting a snack and asked if I could possibly have a child's fish goujons but was told NO, I think the cut off age was 11!! I was offered a small fish and chips which I had but after many years in the catering trade one thing I have learnt is to be flexible as you never know why someone may only want a child's meal.

I had the most delicious bacon roll I have ever had, also a portion of chips to die for. The latte coffee was so good I had two. Would I go again?. . . you bet I would 👏👏

Just off the A9 / A836 roundabout, drive around the edge of the caravan park. Large room with many tables. We had tea and cake and it was lovely.

One of the best all-day breakfasts I have ever had.

Hidden gem just off the A9 at the Dornoch Bridge. Food wad cooked to order so expect a wait, but well worth it. Staff were very courteous, attentive and friendly and the restaurant was spotless and clearly popular with people with young families.
