Johnathon was great with us and the birds. He educated us on the individual birds and falconing quite extensively. Very enjoyable and exciting time for all. He explained that if the birds were not well cared for, they could leave at their will.

Was with Fun Adventures, tubing, river rafting, found at The Woodlands Car Park. Two teenagers thoroughly had a great time. Great leaders, equipment and safety 🛟 briefings.

For those who follow the directions link on the website, you’ll end up at the wrong car park. The text information was equally bad since we were under the mistaken impression that we would be meeting up at a rural environment rather than the center of the small village. We were coming from the Isle of Skye and because of road construction at 5 different points en route we were running late. Not allowing us time for the error and to meet up at the proper location. Of course our fees were non-refundable though they did offer to reschedule the day we fly out of Scotland. This was a disappointment and we felt that better information regarding the meet up point could have saved us since we were near the location within the time required.

My daughter went on the Little landys and omg! She loved it! Emma was absolutely fantastic with her,she made her experience memorable,I loved the fact that it's not just driving around a track there was jobs to do along the way,collecting and dropping off logs and rescuing the animals around the way and collecting stars 🌟

Great activity with good quality equipment. Our instructor was fabulous and really enthusiastic. Would defo do again next year.

This is a great place for fun food exciting outdoor activities and family outings. Having everything for everyone from young to senior.

We had a fantastic afternoon. We had booked whitewater rafting, but as the water levels were too low we did the tubing. Ollie and Ben were amazing at making sure everybody got the most out of the.experience. Would definitely book with them again.

Absolutely amazing morning , handling and feeding four stunning birds of prey , our guide was very informative, re feeding , training , flying etc , will definitely be back. Fiddich the great grey owl was a real character. Not one negative thing to say

My little girl did the pony trekking and then we did the meet and feed the calfs. My little girl loved the pony trekking and now wants a pony. We all loved our time at Rothiemurchus and the staff were amazing.

My family and I really enjoyed our visit to the Highland Cow safari. Getting up.close and being able to feed some of the cows was amazing. The guide Eleanor was knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions. We all enjoyed this experience and would recommend to anyone

Absolutely glorious site camping among the trees gives a lovely secluded feel. Good facilities, friendly staff and loads of activities on the wider estate. We will definitely be back

Information provided before hand about meeting place so it was easy to find. The member of staff taking the Little Landys session was great with the kids and they had a blast. Would thoroughly recommend it.

11 members of our local camera club spent the day photographing birds of prey. the visit was superbly organised and run by Jonathan. We were blessed with superb weather which always adds to any outdoor experience but I have little doubt we would have had a great time whatever the weather. We can certainly recommend the photographs day to anyone who can get together 6 people to share the cost. At the moment they are offering a great deal where up to 12 people from a camera club can attend for the price of 6. Hopefully Jonathan and his team can continue with this offer throughout the summer for camera clubs.

Really good. We did the Falconry and if you are wondering if its worth it it is. They have built a great business here and are actively working for conservation with farmers. Kids had a great time. I'd recommend it.

We done the Quad Biking and it was a great experience! Lynn was our instructor and she was amazing! She was very clear with instructions and was lovely, friendly and chatty throughout the full session! Thanks again😊x

We visited with our two kids for the wee womble pony ride. My daughter was really nervous and Jane was just fantastic. She reassured her and chatted to her the whole time. The ponies were lovely and calm throughout. My kids were delighted with their certificates at the end too! Highly recommended as an intro for even the most nervous little ones!

We did the tree zone and it’s was great. We also did the Hairy cow safari. The guides were excellent and took us through part of the tour we missed because we were late because we misunderstood directions. We really appreciated that. It was excellent.

Lovely place for walking and cycling

Had a really superb day. You get really close to the birds and plenty of flying time. Informative and interesting. Really enjoyed the whole experience and would strongly recommend it to anyone. Lots of laughs too. My favourite was the bald eagle, a stunning bird! Thank you so much.

The farm shop has an excellent range of quality foods and the gift shop is well stocked The Barn has wholesome fresh meals and a welcoming warm stove Don't hesitate, visit!

We booked two days for our camera club members to attend Falconry Workshops. What a fantastic day, Jonathon and Kevin were excellent. They had thought about positioning us and the birds for the best angles, whilst stationary and in flight. An excellent day which our members thoroughly enjoyed. No hesitation in recommending. We will be booking again.

Spent a morning with Kev at the raptor bird experience. Getting close up to these fabulous birds is well recommended! The team there are obviously experienced and knowledgeable and are able to answer all your bird-related questions.

Amazing experience where got to feed, give a few scratches, and visit a herd of Highland Cows on a working farm. You get to learn about Highland cattle as you are led by a ranger onto the property and then participate in some feeding. It’s a great way to see Highland Cows

The quad bike trek was a special experience for my niece and I, we loved it. Lisa was a great guide and took lots of time with us. 👍👌

We had such a great time with the cows! I wish we had known there are also a ton of other things to do around the area! Really easily could spend a couple full days here, but we only scheduled a couple hours.

Petting, feeding and seeing the Scottish Highland Cows was one of my must do experiences when I visited Scotland. Rothiemurchus was everything and then some; I can't stop talking about our experience! I'm a travel agent and will confidently recommend this experience to all of my clients. You do need your own transportation. You meet at the triangle car park then follow the ranger to the farm. The first experience is with the younger cows: petting and feeding them. Next we walked about 200-300 yards down the road to the bulls where we fed and pet the sweetest bull. We then got back in our cars to drive a very small way up the road to the main herd. You can't pet these beauts but the back drop, photos and learning all about them was incredible. I suggest bring hand sanitizer for after feeding the cows, rain boots or boots to get some mud/farm dirt on and layers. I own the rights to my photos and do not give permission to anyone except Rothiemurchus to use my photos. If Rothiemurchus wants to use my photos, tag me and give credit.

Had the most fantastic Highland Coo Safari, even the weather didn't dampen the enthusiasm. Our guide Vicky was so knowledgeable and answered all the questions I threw at her as a big highland cow fan. Highly recommended and look forward to coming back to and doing it again, and more.

Amazing experience. Been 2x now and will be back. The cows are very well taken care of and you can tell that they are comfortable and not forced to come say hello. Rangers have always been kind and helpful. Massive respect for the farmer and the team for all the work they do at the farm. It’s clean and massive! Amazing family and couple experience.

can’t recommend this experience enough! it was incredible and the staff went above and beyond to make it fun and special for us all. My son who has just turned 12 wasn’t very confident so they brought another staff member in to take our party on our own so we could take it slower which we was very grateful of! Seeing Highland cows in the woods roaming free was something i’ll never forget. Thank you so much much making this a unforgettable experience

Really good experience! We travelled from quite far to attend and was worth the distance, really friendly staff who make you feel welcome and kept us up to date on any changes, they also explained everything we needed to know and more, giving us some detail on the history of the estate along the way with unique stopping points!

A good mix of Information and fun. Enjoyed meeting the cows close up and getting to feed them. Spotting a new born calf was a bonus.

We did the quad biking experience, all of us had quad biked before and we certainly enjoyed ourselves, with Lynn leading us. Very friendly, learnt about the estate and we were able to see a very young (3 days old) highland calf, as well as plenty of highland cows. Would certainly recommend!!

We booked the falconry experience the night before. The experience was at 1030 the next morning and there were no issues with the last minute booking. The experience itself was wonderful. There was two of us and five other people. Our guide was Kevin and he was brilliant. Full of knowledge! We each got ample time holding the birds and getting pictures. It was excellent and a must-do for any animal lover.

Lynne and Jamie at the Quad Bike Trail were both very friendly. They share interesting stories and facts about the wildlife while you fly through the forest on your quad bike. 100% recommend!

Today we had the pleasure of the Falconry Experience at Rothiemurchus. From start to finish it was very interesting and our guide Kev was very enthusiastic about he birds, you could tell he loved his job. There was a couple of young children in our small group but they didn't partake as they were afraid of the birds. Interaction with the owls, hawk and baby bald eagle was excellent. Highly recommended.

We had the best time at the Highland Cow Safari😍. Beautiful scenery, lovely animals and a brilliant tour guide made our morning wonderful. Would definitely recommend.

Unique loch-side woodland sauna experience in the most beautiful surroundings.

The whole family travelled from Fife to walk the forest paths round the loch as a New Year treat. We checked it was wheelchair accessible before hand as my wife uses a mobility scooter and what we read assured us of it's suitability. You can imagine our horror after walking the loch path in a clockwise direction, to find a 30 yard fully flooded section of the path to a depth of about 4~6 inches. Too deep for my wife's scooter. It was so cold we couldn't retrace our route back round the loch. My son and daughter had to assist my wife to walk through the freezing water. Those of us without walking boots - in ordinary footwear all got soaking feet and we had to drive home to Fife that evening too. How hard would it have been for someone in a lightweight ATV with a trailer to have dumped some gravel or hard core into the flooded section. We 'might' come back in the spring or summer.

We had the most fantastic Heritage day with the Highland Falconers. It was a truely unique experience watching the hawks and falcon hunt in their natural surrounding. Johnny our guide was so knowledgable and patient answering all our questions. He is clearly very passionate about the birds of prey and this venture, which we would highly recommend to anyone with an interest in having the most amazing experience in stunning surroundings. Even just visiting the Falconry centre and seeing the other birds, the beautiful maremma dogs and emus was a brilliant experience. Thank you to Jonny, Kev and Daisy for making it such a special day.

If you want nature, this is it, with local welcoming comforts to hand, regardless of wind, rain, or in our case, snow and ice. The perfect base for exploring the Cairngorms by foot, bike, car or skis.

An incredible experience of Quad Trek that I highly recommend! We did this during the snow, and the views were absolutely breath-taking. The guides were extremely helpful and made the journey even more enjoyable.

Must visit when we hit Scotland/Aviemore area. ATV's and highland Coos are a vacation staple for the family. Added Falconery and blown away. So cool to see these birds up close and personal. First time during winter season. Just as much fun for sure as summer.

Brilliant location and staff We went on Quads Clay shooting & Feed the Deer all brilliant and the staff that took us were lovey and very informative and helpful will definitely be back for more activities or even do these again And used the farm shop a good few times Bread and meat is amazing from shop

We went Quadbiking yesterday (28th Dec) and it was great! The facility including the quads was well looked after! We both had a great time and our guide Katie was fantastic and very knowledgeable! We will definitely be returning In the future to quad bike and try out the other facilities/activites they offer!

The falconry experience with Johnny was the highlight of our trip!! It was such a unique, educational and fun experience handing these magnificent birds. Johnny is knowledgeable, funny and friendly and made it so much fun for our kids. He loves the birds and there’s no doubt how well cared-for they are- and all the animals at his place! Highly highly recommend this wonderful place!

It was my first time being on a quad, a bit apprehensive at first, but enjoyed it so much.

An exhilarating experience with these beautiful birds. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but had a great sense of humor too. An incredible bucket list activity and it couldn’t have been at a better place. From the time you arrive until you leave the people and the birds were wonderful.

The best experience!! It had snowed and was absolutely freezing the day we did our Highland Cow experience but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. Would highly recommend!!!

Lynn the instructor was very good, seemed well experienced and was very informative. The quad bikes were easy to use and the course was interstellar. As a first time user I found it to be very enjoyable.

It is not accessible by car from Aviemore. You have to do a trail route.

Staff were not interested in the shop. They were rude, not to just us but previous customers. No welcome, no smile, no interaction. We bought venison and it was virtually thrown at us. The two days previous and we had visited the cafe and although the food was good we had finished our food before our drinks arrived. Would not recommend.

This place is incredible and a real treasure. We enjoyed the Hairy Coo Safari so much. Getting to meet and feed the cows was a highlight of our trip. And our guide was fantastic. There are so many areas to explore at Rothimurchus - I could spend a month there!

The bird of prey hunting experience day is quite simply awesome! The love that Jonny has for the birds, and the wealth of knowledge that he imparts is mindblowing. I would recommend this day to anyone who has a love of these amazing creatures.

Great place for action and adventure in the Cairngorms. My family and I did the Highland Coo Safari which was awesome. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and we really enjoyed learning about the cows and feeding the babies.

Great time had by all at Rothiemurchus! Little Landys and Quad Trekking, my youngest loved Little Landys, so well organised and very happy to come away with a license to drive a Landy! Activities to do while driving round and very happy to collect his stars, round up all of the Highland Cows and also find a pumpkin! He wants to go back and do the trailer part of his license now! The lady who did it (sorry can't remember her name) was great with the children keeping their attention and ensuring they had a fantastic time! My husband and eldest son enjoyed the quad trekking, even though they had to finish early as my son found it hard going but the staff were very helpful and kind to him, he had never done anything like it before so it was completely new and they were great with him. My husband said it was very well organised and a great set up. Thank you for a great time!

Good coffee expensive for good portion sizes not good for price

Went to their fishing experience and did not catch a single fish between 2 people for 2 hours. Did not get a single bite even for those 2 hours. Even more disappointing is that their "Head of Visitor Services" and main customer service does not reply to email feedback even though they sent an auto email asking for feedback. Leaving this review is a last resort to get any sort of response. Extremely disappointed by their lack of customer service on top of the lackluster fishing "experience". And it was expensive too!

Another amazing trip to Aviemore. We stayed at Rothiemurchus Estate, Achnahatnich House, which was super comfy and stylish. We enjoyed the hot box sauna, the contrast from going into the hot sauna then into Loch An Eilein was quite exhilarating. Horse riding; the horse that I had was called Hal, he was a super star. Axe throwing; our instructor, Andy was an excellent teacher, super fun and helpful and quad biking with Jamie who took great pics and shared lots of info about the area. We'll definitely be back!
