Got a chicken Maryland was not impressed looked more like chicken nuggets normally the food is great but I won't buy this again

The absolute worst lunch I have had in many, many years. I was charged £6.50 for a tuna and cheese (allegedly) panini that looked like it had been given the last rights four days before, and £3.00 for a *small* dish of incinerated chips. The cutlery wasn't sparkling (to a point where I preferred to eat with my fingers) and the tables were sadly lacking a good wipe down with disinfectant. And don't get me started on the two pint pots on the window ledge with what appeared to be cider vinegar in it covered partially with cling film to trap flies presumably as there was one lost soul already in it's tardy grave. Had I not been with friends and didn't want them to feel uncomfortable, I would have asked for my money back. Would I recommend going to this bar? ... I leave you to answer your own question.

Gyros is a great little Greek restaurant/café in Ayr. The atmosphere is chilled out with relaxed friendly service. The Greek coffee is excellent and you won't find a cheaper coffee in Ayr. My partner and I have been twice for a light meze lunch and will be back again: a new favourite.

I came in here for breakfast after leaving my son's car at a garage. As their first customer, I was able to choose a table near the living flame gas fire. There was a small bottle of sterile sanitiser on each table along with "Track and Protect" cards and a pen to use with them. I ordered a full Scottish breakfast with a large cappuccino and a glass of water. It wasn't long before everything arrived. The breakfast was well cooked and presented, the coffee was in a large mug with the frothy milk and chocolate on top and the water was in a large glass with ice.The waitress was polite and friendly.I could not have asked for anything to have improved my breakfast and the experience.I can thoroughly recommend Pandora in Ayr for a "Perfect Start" to your day.

My husband had the porridge (which he was asked how he preferred it done, he then had an omelette, I had the small breakfast (They were so helpful and allowed me to change a couple of things) the food was excellent. The staff were lovely, friendly and made us feel so welcome, will definitely be back

I got mcallums crunch and mango sorbet. The mcallums was nice nothing special but the mango sorbet was horrible. Tasted like soap. More creamy than most sorbets. Disappointed

Visited here for lunch today. Only has a few tables but soo glad there was space. Food was absolutely amazing. All freshly made. Great service. Bought a few additional items in the Deli to take home. ! Highly reccommend a visit.

Had a fantastic meal at the Jockey Club, everything ordered was delicious and service was excellent. Great value for money and great setting, will definitely be back and would 100% recommend!

Got served eventually by staff after they came over was seated. Asked if we wanted drinks, I said Yes explained what we wanted. Brought drinks over. 20 mins later waitress came over "what you want then" gave order over then 25 mins later was brought over. People had came in after and got food and drink. before us.

I ordered a corporate buffet today for a meeting with guests from all over the UK, they all raved about the selection of the lunch and the quality of the food. Was delivered to our premises at the time requested, fresh, mixed selection and I could not have been happier. All guests said they cannot wait to come back as they enjoyed so much. Glenapp Castle präsentiert sich auf seiner Website mit einem atmosphärischen Promotionfilm, der Weite und gepflegte Tradition suggeriert. Das Anwesen gehört zur Relais&Chateaux Vereinigung und ist für seine Küchenleistung von AA mit 3 Rosettes ausgezeichnet. Damit zählt es zu den Top 40 Schottlands. Alles sprach dafür, eine Reservierung zum Abendessen zu tätigen. Die 30 minütige Anfahrt endete zunächst unverhofft an einem verschlossenen Tor, wofür es gute Gründe geben mag. Statt einer freundlichen Begrüßung kam aus der Gegensprechanlage eine Ansage vom Band: „ Wir sind zurzeit nicht erreichbar. Bitte probieren Sie es später noch einmal.“ Ein weiterer Versuch nach angemessener Wartezeit brachte das gleiche Ergebnis. Das reicht normalerweise, einen Haken hinter die Angelegenheit zu machen und umzudrehen. Dennoch entschieden wir uns, dem Haus noch eine Chance zu geben, und benutzten unser Telefon. Auch hier landeten wir auf einem Sprachcomputer, was uns wenigstens ermöglichte, nach automatisiertem Weiterverbinden doch noch eine menschliche Stimme zu erreichen. Solch ein Vorgehen lässt jegliche Professionalität vermissen und gestattet keine Erklärung. Selbst bei Personalmangel steht der herzliche Kontakt ganz im Sinne der sprichwörtlichen schottischen Gastfreundschaft an erster Stelle und kann durch entsprechende technische Ausstattung von jedem Ort aus bewerkstelligt werden. Was ferner ärgerlich aufstößt ist fehlende Transparenz. Was sich seit Jahren auf der Insel breit gemacht hat ist eine letztlich doch nicht so ganz freiwillige Abgabe für den Service, was deswegen überrascht, da zuvor die Bedienung inklusive war und vom Gast durch ein Trinkgeld ergänzt werden konnte. Das Thema ist immer noch umstritten. Vorbildliche Restaurants weisen auf diese „Discretionary Service Charge“ und deren Höhe vorab hin, so dass der Gast entscheiden kann, ob er dort überhaupt einkehren möchte. Ein geläufiger Aufpreis ist 12,5 %. Dem hohen und besonders qualifizierten Personal im gehobenen Segment wird dadurch Rechnung getragen, dass das Speisen hier an sich schon teurer ist als in einem Gastropub und sich daraus, auch durch den Genuss von Wein, ein absolut weit höherer Betrag für den Service ergibt. Hier in Glenapp Castle erfährt der Gast erst nach der Bitte um die Rechnung von einem vorgehaltenen Tablet, dass sich sein Verzehr um 20 Prozent verteuert. Dieser Betrag ist der Höhe nach aufgrund unserer hier gemachten Erfahrungen mit dem Service und auch im landesweiten Vergleich bei weitem nicht gerechtfertigt. Bei den aufgeführten Kritikpunkten handelt es sich nicht um individuelle Ausrutscher an einem turbulenten Tag, sondern um fehlende Führung. Die Küche konnte das nicht ganz ausgleichen und hinterließ einen soliden Eindruck. Die Einschätzung, ob dieses gastronomische Erlebnis wirklich zu besten Schottlands zählt, bedarf sicherlich mehrerer Besuche.

Coffee was good although disappointed there is no full breakfast despite it being advertised online. Overall, very overpriced in general. If they bring back the full breakfast, I would maybe give this place another chance. The pancakes and syrup were great though. We got two cappacicounos, one roll sausage and egg and pancakes and it was £28. This is robbery.
