It's a very cute cafe at Millport and serves tasty panini toasties burgers. The loaded nachos was also pretty good and they were kind e ough to make a vegetarian version for us. The coffee and hot chocolate were a saviour on a rainy cold day in May. We enjoyed our meal at the cafe. The staff was friendly too.

We were running an event in Millport for 110 people and looking for a large sandwich order for packed lunches. Ross was very pleasant and flexible to deal with. When the sandwiches arrived, ahead of time, we were delighted with the quality and presentation, lovely wee vegeware containers and tasty fillings. Our guests were all very happy. Highly recommended for events catering.

A special hidden place can be found in Millport.Cambrai island is ten minutes on ferry and a further five on bus gets you to Millport.Behind the Garrison Museum is this delightful cafe. All manner of light snacks and meals are offered at decent prices.Outside areas are set with spaced out tables in a court yard.A good place to rest on such a quiet island resort.

Can’t praise the Garrison cafe highly enough. I was in with my two boys and they were very busy. Our food was taking a while to come out but I was in no hurry. The manager came came out and apologised and brought me a fresh hot coffee moments before our food arrived. The soup and rolls and sausage well lovely. Proper good old fashioned homemade soup. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Millport. Well worth a visit and prices are reasonable. Thank you

What a surprise to find this cafe. We had planned to visit the museum, but it was closed. We stayed for a cup of hot chocolate and a sweet. After exploring more of the island, we returned for lunch. There were lots of healthy choices on the menu. We had some lovely soup and ended with ice cream. The friendly staff also helped with directions to a well-hidden cemetery. What a welcome change from fish n chips!

Visited cafe on Thursday 9/6/2022 during trip to Millport. Ordered Morrocan Chickpea Soup, two toasted cheese and pickle baquettes, tea and coffee and a bowl of water for my dog. Whilst placing my order I had to repeat my request due to the person taking my order not knowing what chutney/pickle was. When food came the soup was bland albeit edible. The baquettes were served cold and contained ham. As vegetarians we requested these be exchanged. Apologies were given by another staff member (who stated they were also vegetarian). I apologise if I offended the original person taking my order due to the disgruntled and angry manner with which I was met when she passed my table. Without making or passing judgement I assume it was due to the mix-up in her transmission of my order or regarding my request that the dirty water in the dog bowl be changed. Very disappointed by my experience in the Garrison Cafe.

We travel to the island every year and always enjoy visiting the Garrison, the food is a good quality, staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. Unfortunately on this trip I cannot say any of the above. The food was extremely poor, the menu seems to have halved. we ordered cheese and Ham paninis as well as a variety of other items. The meat that was served was not ham it was a processed version which for the price I did not expect. The cutlery was dirty and the staff looked very unhappy. This is not at all what we are used to and I can only assume it is under new management.

Came with my friend and family for lunch after having visited a couple of years ago and had enjoyed it. Down points were we would have liked a small breakfast for our young sons - no flexibility to provide one so not to disappoint on our day trip we had to order adult sizes which with the toast there was a lot of wastage. No toasties option despite having sandwiches so had to have paninis instead. Other than that we did enjoy our visit - food was very good and £38 for 6 of us so very reasonable. Great selection of delicious looking cakes but didn't have any room left to sample them!

We visit Garrison House several times a year for soup plus coffee and a cake for lunch. It's clean, friendly and the soup is excellent. Why is it apparently essential to have background 'music'? It's nothing I would ever choose to listen to and adds nothing to the enjoyment of lunch - quite the opposite, it's intrusive and annoying. So many establishments inflict this on us without our consent nowadays it's impossible to avoid.

Was reasonably busy. But with 8 staff on at once you could expect better service. I had to go up to the counter and pay for my food then collect my cutlery, napkins and any sauces i would like. I ordered macaroni and when it came it was served with some melted cheese on top. It was literally mush. You could not identify one single piece of macaroni. It’s texture was clunky even though it tasted like milk and nothing else. Overall the whole experience not worth the money.

Afraid to say with all this lovely weather it seems Garrison House is unable to keep up with demand. I came for a coffee this week and thought a takeaway coffee and sandwich would be the best option as I could see there were few tables available and the staff seemed under pressure. Waited about 15 minutes for 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches at the counter... and opened one to find it was the wrong coffee. The other one, a cappuccino, had to be remade because it was like hot milk, and hardly tasted of coffee. So the takeaway option ended up taking longer than some tables who were sitting in with their orders.

Table booked on 24/12/2019 for 9 people to have lunch on 5th Jan 2019. We were told when ordering our drinks that they had only one can of diet coke!! Bad start. One hour after our arrival no food had been brought to the table. Eventually starters were served. Food average. When we asked for salad cream for a salad it was to be told that they didn't have any! I ordered fish and chips and was told they didn't have any fish ' only scampi. Attitude to customers was take it or leave it! I felt they had let us down and Dalry down. We will not go back there again.

For a start, I don’t understand why a commercial building built in the late 90’s doesn’t have a lift given my guess of the average age of their clientele. We went for tea and a scone with my mum who is recovering from getting a new knee. We were told that we could have a table in the foyer cos the restaurant wasn’t accessible. They then changed their mind and told us that we couldn’t order a tea and a scone because there was already 6 people in their restaurant and it would be at least 30 minutes before they could put in a new order. There were 4 people in the empty shop, two in the foyer and presumably numerous staff in the cafe. Between them they couldn’t get us a tea and a scone. We won’t be back.
