A very scrumptious cream tea rounded off a very pleasant walk to the Abbey. the COVID safe protocols were very well worked out / organised. Food & Drink ordered at the window and delivered to your well spaced table. Well done all for making us feel safe & comfortable.

After failed attempts at a couple of other places as we made our way home we had almost given up on lunch (fully booked at The Tipsy Cow, Airdrie and a power cut at The Silver Birch Café at Crossford). Thankfully Langloch Farm was open and despite being busy we got a parking space and a table. This time around, no doubt wary of a chilling wind, the main door had been closed to prevent a through-draught and customers were being directed to the “dog entrance“! We came in through the patio doors and noticed that plenty of dogs had found their way in too. I think we were in a minority of customers who didn’t have their pet with them. If you’re not keen on sharing your eating space with animals, probably better to think twice about visiting on days like this however the dogs were all well behaved thankfully. There is a decent selection of soups, sandwiches, etc and we kept it simple by having a couple of Bacon, Brie and Cranberry Paninis (£7.95 each). These were very good - crispy bacon, melted brie and plenty of cranberries together with some very tasty salad and coleslaw. The cake display is large and for dessert my wife had a piece of Passion fruit & Coconut Cake whilst I had a slice of Lemon & Lime Sponge. They were both good however the Passion fruit & Coconut was particularly nice. We had a couple of large Americano coffees, a regular one and a tea along with our lunch which brought the bill to £36 for two which we thought was reasonable value for money. There is a small play area and a short walking trail on the site but neither were being used due to the weather conditions at the time of our visit. Nice place between Lanark town and the Hyndford Bridge if you’re passing through.

I got a cheese & onion toastie (£6.25) and my girlfriend got a cheese & ham toastie (£6.50). We got a portion of fries (£3.25) to share and two soft drinks (£2.30 each). We loved that our toasties were served with coleslaw, salad and crisps. We appreciated there being a drizzle of dressing on our salads too as a lot of cafés don’t tend to do this. As we were leaving, we decided to get two takeaway iced coffees with syrups (£3.45 each) - although we ended up handing them back and getting a refund as these were dreadful. Overall, we would return for food and soft drinks. It’s good that you can choose to sit outside if it’s a nice day too.

After a long week of travelling it was a pleasure to be greeted by the staff as we entered the Crown and took a seat by the fire as Grace and Anna immediately brought us our usual drinks, made a fuss of our dog and chatted with us before serving us the usual excellent food we have come to expect. It is so refreshing to be served by people who clearly enjoy their jobs and value your custom, highly recommended this place.

Food a bit disappointing for the price paid. Soup was flavoured dish water, bread stale and price paid the quality is shocking. Fish and chips quality was better but battered fish was swimming in grease. This is normally our go to restaurant for a special night out but quality has dipped and will be rethinking where we dine out in Lanark in future. This is our 2nd meal here since January 2024 and the 1st meal was also disappointing - chilli served as a garnish on top of main meal when this is not on the menu description of food chosen!!!
