We booked online for a party of 14 and revived a very quick response and confirmation. The atmosphere and service was great, the food however was absolutely spectacular. The specials of scallops were enjoyed by a lot of my colleagues and the tuna with tempura prawns were absolutely fantastic. The kitchen was also able to cater for my colleague who is gluten free and they also enjoyed their meal!

A hidden gem of a cafe. Recommended by a local and it didn’t disappoint. A busy cafe. Had a short wait for a seat but was acknowledged by staff who cleared a table as soon as they could. Great coffee and scones. Even a wee menu for your dog! Menu looked good but we didn’t have too much time so only had coffee and scones.

Visited for afternoon tea being recommended by friends and family who have stayed. We had similar reaction to them, albeit without experience of the bedrooms. Fantastic service, warm ambiance in a historic setting of great beauty but somewhat living off past glories, inside and out signs of update/modernisation needed. Lovely food for tea and my pot of Marsala chai was the best I’ve ever had. Our thanks to the team.

Highlander has great food and various beers & drinks to choose from. We had the steak and ale pie and the cheese burger. We happened to get there as the guitarist singer was setting up and enjoyed him selection of Scottish, Irish, and American ballads. Big thumbs up!!

I really wanted this to be great but in the end I just did not sleep well. The bed was very uncomfortable, and pillows were horrible square foam. The hotel is amazing, and I am sure it costs a lot to keep such a beautiful hotel but when 8 hours of the day is spent sleeping (the whole point of a hotel I think) I is missing some key elements. Outside of town so getting to other food is a bit of a task. The food was good but was missing something that just left be short of amazed. Second night we went to down and had a great meal.

Stopped for a quick break on the way to Poolewe. Even though they were short-staffed, they produced a wonderful soup of the day (sweet potato) and the lightest tastiest cheese scones. Such friendly staff and excellent value for money. Would recommend a visit if you're in the area.

I stayed at the hotel from November 1st to November 2nd. This morning, I was having breakfast at the hotel, when I was ordering, an old guy named Dorian, I raised my hand to him, I said: Excuse me, can I order. Then he came to me. He said OK guys, it's not just you, there are many guests, so don't call me. The reason I raised my hand to call him is that I am ready to order. He can come when he is ready. Then I ordered two highland breakfasts, but we only served two fried eggs. I waited for almost 30 minutes until I asked someone, can you check with the kitchen? Then I asked Dorian, he said "I'm sorry." Meaning he didn't order this for you. I am Asian, but I have never been treated like this by anyone. I do think this is racist behavior.
